Shoutout gamestop to your super helpful and wonderful employee Laura at the Torrance location. The best customer experience I've had in a while in any store. Traded in my launch #ps5 and a few games and got a bunch of physical games, mostly preordered: Saros, Pokopia, Pragmata, 007 first light. Still got a little bit to spare and will pick something else up but definitely be back at the store. Also not sponsored but I am a gamestop premium member and money well spent. read more

We stopped in to check out a fun game for a neighbor's child. We were able to find one suitable and the child was thrilled with our choice (luckily .. lol). Good service and some good choices. Enjoy being ignored?? You came to the right place. Called before hand to make sure they have PS4 controller, sales associate said they did. Got there, place is empty, myself and a couple. I stood there while the lady with the short hair never acknowledged me, just starred at her computer. Looked around a bit, came back to the counter. Still nothing! I'm there to spend my money and can't even get any help. Jeff Bezos can have it then, ordered via Amazon, never ever going to this business again read more

The manager is always in a rude mood. He is impatient and snappy and gives customers rude attitude when they are being polite. The selection is standard. The value is standard for gamestop read more

I had a pick up which only takes a couple seconds, they only have one line for people selling, buying, and picking up. It shouldnt take 2 hours to wait in line to pick up something i ordered online. We order online so we dont have to wait for hours in line. Ridiculous. read more

Gamestops get a bad rep these days, but I think its totally undeserved. As for this location, its pretty neat. There's all kinds of selection of games from used to new for pretty much all modern consoles. This particular GameStop might not bolster the most impressive nor robust inventory of games (usually missing more niche titles/harder to find games) but they do still have a nice selection of games to buy and most of the new titles are available at the store. As for customer service, the staff was pleasant and quick. They didnt try to hassle me about signing up for pro membership and just let me make my purchase. I copped Ocotopath Traveler 0 and Final Fantasy Xll The Zodiac Age, which was neat because they can be somewhat difficult games to find physically. Overall, I'm excited to keep coming back to this location and add onto my physical collection whenever I can. read more

1 Star This GameStop location is the worst when it comes to customer service. Every time my Muslim wife and I visit, we experience blatant rudeness from an employee named Jonathan who is clearly RACIST. He consistently gives us attitude, dismisses our concerns, and makes us feel unwelcome. On top of that, I always run into "system errors" that prevent me from using my $5 monthly credit, and I even lost a $50 credit purchased with points because their system wouldn't process it before it expired. Instead of trying to help, the staff acts like it's my problem and refuses to make it right. The service here is so bad that I now go out of my way to shop at the San Pedro location just to avoid dealing with Jonathan and the unprofessionalism at this store. read more

Game Stop - Never come to this store. You'll be disappointed. - Video Game Stores Near Me - Torrance, California

Worst customer service ever. My girlfriend went and tried to do me a good deed and buy me a used PS5 remote from gamestop for Valentine's Day.... Turns out they sell her a broken remote for 75$?? . I literally opened the bag and the right trigger was popped off at the bottom of the bag . What a scam . You have a better chance on OfferUp with a random person. I'll be calling corporate. Worst GameStop I've ever been to in my life and I've been going to GameStop for 20 years now. Just a head ups if you don't have a Pro membership supposedly you can't make a return said the manager there. Will not be shopping here again. I would give them zero stars but Yelp wouldn't allow me .Giving them one Star honestly is compliment read more

I just want to say people need to stop buying from GameStop. They sold me a console that shouldn't have been sold to anybody. When I tried to work with them to make things right they acted like they couldn't do anything. If you do decide to buy from this company, then you are complicit with their business practices, there needs to be more accountability across the board, how can things change when we the people do nothing. read more

Waste of time going to this location. I bought a mic a day before and was defective. Took it back with the receipt, In the box and unused. They refused to do a refund or store credit to go towards a new mic. The manager is at no help and won't allow to help the customers. Definitely do not recommend this location at all. If I could give it no stars I would but unfortunately had to give them 1. read more

So this game stop has really bipolar employees. One day they're super chill, and the next they are super rude. And they're the same employees. Not only that I get that someone has a bad day, but to treat me with disrespect and the other employee entirely 360 is ridiculous. read more

"Ana".. she was 30 min late to her shift.. the person also tried to trick me into buying a membership. Profit over people and they care about wasting your time as ask you if want a membership, warranty or to give them your person information so they can sell it. If I could this location 0 stars I would. I came to this GameStop to trade in some games and JOHNNY helped me out. He was extremely rude to me when he gave me my store credit. As he saw me returning to the cash register to redeem my store credit on a product, he turned his back on me, packed some things in a box, and walked slowly to the back when he could've just helped me out real quick so I could be on my way home. During my second interaction with him he was still very rude and after I paid for my item, he didn't even hand me what I paid for. I had to reach over and take it from the counter. Didn't even get a thank you or even eye contact from JOHNNY. This interaction was very disappointing. GameStop, if you're going to hire anyone in customer service you guys better make sure they provide customer service. read more

Clearly these GameStop doesn't care about the bad reviews because that guy John it's still employed. Try and avoid this GameStop at all costs, I've never seen an employee so miserable at his job like John. GameStop should probably do this guy a favor and terminate him, so he can go be a janitor somewhere and doesn't have to be in contact with costumers. If it's such a horrible inconvenience to this guy to sell a PS5 I have no idea what is he doing employed. There's a GameStop in Manhattan Beach, much better people, much better store. I wish I could give 0 stars but we are where we are. read more

GameStop closed at 8, but Yelp says 9--wasted a trip for nothing. Please update your hours!

Employee Spencer lied about my return being outside the return window. Told me to resell the game on OfferUp instead and kept complaining I was holding up the line while he took 30 minutes because he didn't know how to process the return and had to keep calling other locations for help. I just wanted a simple return. It's not my fault he didn't know how to do it. Long story short I called customer support over the phone and got a shipping label to return the item back via mail. What a rude person and huge waste of time. read more

Won't answer the phone when I called at multiple different times. The people at this location are also always talking, no customer service

The worst customer service I have ever experienced. Totally rude guy today. He did not want to help us with any of our questions and tried to get us out of the store as quickly as possible. We will never come back to this store and we will definitely be spreading the word. We came in to spend some good money on some gifts for our sons 10th birthday. Game Stop lost a good sale today on a rainy day when there wasn't 1 person in the store. Never going back and that guy should be fired. read more

GameStop is one of my favorite video game stores, and I visit this location in Torrance frequently when I am going to work. The staff here is very friendly and very knowledgeable about the latest Xbox, Playstation and Nintendo video game releases., the selection is great, and I always walk out of here with a new video game. I was recently able to trade in my old Nintendo Switch and upgrade it to the new Switch for my kids and the staff was able to give me a great deal so, I could upgrade my system. I always get great service at this location. You guys rock, keep up the great work! read more

Right when I walked in the store an employee with glasses gave me a bad attitude and I did not feel welcomed at all

I bought a Pokémon sealed product and asked the cashier if he could price match from their website and he told me no, then I asked to return my purchase and get a refund and he also told me no. He said that they don't price match and that they don't accept returns on Pokémon card products which is a huge lie, he lied to me and refused to give me my money back. He gave terrible customer service and is a liar! read more

I came here to sell Madden 20 the day before Madden 21 came out. They told me that they were not doing cash buying, only store credit. I then asked if I come back tomorrow to buy Madden 21 pre-release and I trade in Madden 20 tomorrow if the trade in value will be the same. He said "definitely". Well he lied. Today I checked online and the trade in value went down more than 50%. Out of principle I will never shop here again because he lied to my face. His coworker questioned his comment but he did not change his response. Usually I am a Game Stop shopper. I like their knowledge and suggestions of new games. I'm sad that the reason I came here is no longer true. I understand that this company would be having financial difficulties competing with Amazon, Walmart, etc. that provides delivery of the same products at the same price. But, to hire employees that are not knowledgeable is cutting the last thread that are keeping people coming back. I'm sorry that this experience has turned me to support a large corporation (Amazon) who values my business and provides an honest experience. Sorry Game Stop. The memory of the good times of picking up the new game will remain forever. Good bye. read more

Went here bout a year back. Wanted to pick up the PSVR2.. an expensive item. Got there RIGHT when it opened. Walk in.. I'm the only customer. Dude behind the counter was just standing there doing nothing. Told him I wanted to buy the PSVR2. Said "I'm busy" while proceeding to literally stare straight ahead at the computer screen. Said "no worries take your time". I walk around the store thinking it'll be quick and he had to send an email or something. Legit 15 minutes later, I go back and tell him I'm ready to purchase.. he's still staring at computer screen. He again says "you'll have to wait, I'm swamped" very rudely. Tell him I'm going to make a pretty expensive purchase and he legit goes "oh you got money"? I brush it off and just say "So are you going to help me or shall I go somewhere else?". He rolled his eyes and goes and gets the VR. Scans it and I complete the purchase just to get out of there. I say "thank you" and he says "whatever" and goes back to looking at the computer. Don't know what this guys name was but he was wearing glasses. Complete and utter dickhead from the start. Won't ever be returning and highly suggest to take your business elsewhere. read more

This game stop has great customer service. I recently went in there to buy two games and when I asked about a used Mario game , one employee told me immediately "no we don't have that pre owned" however, right in front of me I saw it on the shelf , pre-owned, and held it up . That same employee apologized quickly, smiled , and said to their knowledge they didn't have any left and they were very kind and apologetic about being so quick to answer and explained why they said it so quickly. At other game stops , employees they really act like they don't have a care in the world they're rude and they would never try to apologize , here he was genuine and he went out of his way to ask if they could look up any other games for us they were kind and they made up for that quick assumption and for that I'm thankful not many places go out of their way like that. read more

The guys here are very helpful. We called and asked them to put a new game on hold. We also asked then if they could transfer a pre order over from a different store. They were able to do both and had the game ready for me when I got there. Excellent customer service! read more

I have been coming to game stop since I was a little kid and they are absolutely still the same game stop I've known and loved my entire life. Mat, Sean and Sydney are incredibly helpful and make me feel extremely confident about my purchases and are knowledgeable about every game, console and accessories they have in store. I will continue coming here and will continue buying from game stop almost exclusively! Got my PS5 and a Nintendo switch + games and accessories for both consoles. Purchase was super easy, I felt great and I felt amazing leaving the store to use my new items. read more

This game stop is much larger than the ones in the mall and it's pretty awesome that they have a lot in stock. I mainly like this place for the Bob's Burgers merchandise. They carry the most I've seen compared to other places. The cashiers are cool and they know their stuff. read more

So the only reason why their rating is a 3 is because their system is always down. The phone line doesn't seem to work (I've tested in store) it's not them. Johnny and John are pretty helpful, and Sydney was great too. However, game-stops policies as a whole make this place a dubious endeavor sometimes. What I will say is, if you are friendly and are looking for help they generally are able to help you out Johnny is my go to person as he is always helpful and answers my questions. I have seen people acting stinky with them and take out their frustrations on them as if it were their will. Remember they are employees and need to follow protocol. I have had issues with return that aren't sealed and trying to get full refunds on unopened products all you really need to do is make sure that you ask all the questions you need to before you take your product home and you should be ok. (They need to focus on their internet/phones) Other than that I would say this location is a generally decent place. read more

Decent GameStop, however they do not check the games that they buy or trade! I have two incidents when two Xbox one games did not work at all! One game was battlefield hardline game, which was only 5 dollars, it had a crack on the disc and was very scratched up! It is ridiculous that they would even take that game in! Also, the second game I bought from this location was forza horizon 3 also pre owned. At the time I bought it, it has recently came out and it was around 40ish dollars. I come home and try to play it and what do you know, it doesn't work. So I came back to the store and they gave me a hard time about it. Yeah, understand it's a pre owned game, but they should really look into the games that they buy or trade! read more

When I say I received the WORST customer service, I mean that. John the "shift leader/manager" at this store needs to be re-trained on how to handle an upset customer. As a manager you should acknowledge my frustrations and not yell and be disrespectful back to me. I bought a pre-owned Nintendo and other items worth $450. I purchased it at 7:30 pm one day and didn't get around to opening it and playing it until 2 days later, by the time I got the chance to go return it, I wasn't able to I guess because they only return items after 7 days that are pre-owned. Unfortunately, it had been 8 days for me. I was upset and stated that next time they should let customers know that after they purchase an item so expensive so they are aware, just like other stores do because a lot of people assume it's 30 days. Also, on the box it says 30 day return guarantee. They stated the box means I can return it if something is wrong with it and they will give me another one, well it doesn't state that on the box? Anyways, I told them my frustrations and the manager was disrespectful and you can tell he just hates his job. He needs to re-trained on how to deal with an upset customer. You can tell he has anger issues. Literally last time buying anything from GameStop again because of the manager/shift leader John...not because of their return policy but because of his lack of customer service. read more

Hey display the boxes for the games but don't carry the games... I wasted 30 mins in line for nothing total bullshit

So this game stop is huge. I went in today because my controller broke and they were fast at helping me when a lot of other GameStop's in the area are slow as heck. I was helped by Luis and he was efficient. The assistant staff lead, shorter girl with a very happy attitude, she was awesome. Spoke about how big the GameStop was and she was very friendly and explained clearance items extremely well. Leaving they said goodbye and I don't know.... I guess I felt like this was the first time that a employee at GameStop actually wanted to help and wasn't just "Do their job." Cool people. That staff lead though, she's great. Pay her more. Update as of 6 hours later. The controller sold to me was faulty. The right stick and button and Y button were stuck in place. Will be back tomorrow to get a new one that works. Idk if it's this controller or as said in a previous review, employees lacking in checking on "used" items when buying. Update part two: went back and Luis and Renee helped me, got me a new controller, cool dudes. Gonna make this my GameStop. Hope this controller works. read more
