"Now On DVD" is actually a MOVIE RENTAL PLACE like Blockbuster, but it's actually not a chain. I…read morelove this place because you can rent and also buy some movies. It is run by these Asian folks that are cool as hell. They have a cool variety of movies you can rent, you can even rent some ASIAN MOVIES ASWELL! POSITIVES: -Pretty cool parking lot. -Great customer service. -Nice, clean and organized place. -XXX section for all you pervs! HAHAHHAA! -They also sell some CHEAP popcorn packs if you wanna eat popcorn while watching the movie you rented. NEGATIVES: -With all the Asian movies they have, I'm surprised that they don't have "Battle Royale" or the REAL KOREAN version of "My Sassy Girl". -They need to start getting more BLU-RAY discs and more VIDEO GAMES. -I don't like the fact that Blockbuster closes LATER than "Now On DVD", because that means it leaves me no choice but to go rent at Blockbuster. FINAL THOUGHTS: -There are a lot more cool secrets about this place, but you will have to find out yourself! hahaha! (no, it's not a secret massage parlor! hahaha) -This is THE BEST NON-CHAIN video rental place in Carson...reminds me of a better version of the old Triple 7 Video (R.I.P., now Pizza Patron took over), but bigger! -A few miles down, "M's VIDEO" SUCKS...I hate that place! I used to work there with one of the old owners and they ripped me off back then!

How can I not give Square Enix five stars? This company has produced some of the greatest video…read moregames of all time and some of the most impactful to me personally. I grew up playing SquareSoft games, the most influential years being in the mid-90s, with masterpiece titles like Final Fantasy II and III (IV and VI in Japan), Secret of Mana, and Chrono Trigger. I've played most of the Final Fantasy main series. I'd rank them as follows (using Japanese numbering): 1. X (2001) 2. VI (1994) 3. IV (1991) 4. VIII (1999) 5. XII (2006) 6. IX (2000) 7. VII (1997) 8. V (1992) 9. XIII (2009) 10. I (1987) The Final Fantasy series has it all. Great, epic stories, interesting characters and fun battle mechanics, and unparalleled artwork (Yoshitaka Amano) and music (Nobuo Uematsu). I still remember one of my co-op semesters in college when all I would do when I came home from work was play FFX. I really got sucked into the game. I got every character's ultimate weapon. The game I sunk the most time into was FFXII at 140 hours and 37 minutes. The only other games that have taken up more of my time (that was recordable) to date are The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (2017) at approximately 200 hours and Animal Crossing: New Horizons (2020) at approximately 245 hours and counting (I'm still actively playing ACNH). When I first played FFIV (II US), I had never experienced a video game with such a deep and emotional story. And the music, wow. I used to record the music from the video games, coming out from the TV speakers, using a Fisher-Price kids tape recorder. When soundtracks started coming out on CD in the US, I bought those (Secret of Mana, Kefka's Domain) directly from Square. One of my memories of FFVI was auto-grinding (a cheap tactic) on the Lethe River. I'd put a rubber band around my Super NES controller to keep the A button pressed down and have the characters go around in circles and automatically level up by pounding indefinitely on weak enemies. One time, my SNES actually crashed during one of those sessions (first time I experienced a console crashing). FFVI had such a long and amazing ending. Again, unlike anything I had experienced in a video game up to that point. To date, FFXIII is by far graphically the most beautiful and impressive of the FF games I've played. However, as critics have pointed out, the game is like going down one long beautiful tunnel. The game doesn't feel as open-world as previous entries in the series. I actually got stuck in FF Mystic Quest and never beat it. It's funny because it was designed to be easy. I wasn't interested enough to continue and gave up too easily. I completed FFX-2, but was a little underwhelmed with the game as it felt like a cheap, somewhat soulless sequel. Playing with dresspheres was also kind of weird to me, like I was playing a form of digital dress-up dolls. I've attended three Final Fantasy concerts, one of which the legend himself, Nobuo Uematsu, was in attendance. https://www.yelp.com/collection/ax-zz53yXYaIzt7IttRppw I wrote a guide on how to defeat the hardest optional boss in FFIX, Ozma. It's published on GameFAQs: https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/ps/197338-final-fantasy-ix/faqs/47344. It's one of the nerdiest things I've ever done. Secret of Mana and Chrono Trigger are some of my all-time favorite video games as well. During one visit to Japan in the late 90s, I purchased guide books for FFVI and Seiken Densetsu 3 even though I couldn't read Japanese. The books just looked cool and I liked looking at the pictures and graphic design. Still do. As far as the Enix part of Square Enix is concerned, I don't have much experience other than Dragon Warrior (the original Dragon Quest) game for the NES. My sister and I played the heck out of that game. It was our first classic RPG experience. My sister actually liked it and got better at it than me. We actually have two copies because we got one copy for free for being subscribers to Nintendo Power magazine. The NP copy is still sealed. It's crazy to me that Nintendo mailed Dragon Warrior cartridges to every NP subscriber (this was in late 1990).

Communicating with their main office in Japan. You kids poked the bear, enjoy! Naval History: The Japanese are some of the toughest people on the face of the planet. The Battle of Midway was a testament to so many lives lost on both sides, but a turning point in the war. (If you think they'll let y'all smear the image of Final Fantasy, stand-by to stand-by.) -I pray for my countrymen and countrywomen here, California in particular. I served 4 year, 2 months, and 11 days active Navy; and earned my freedom of speech.
