I rarely review experiences, but I was so impressed with Studs and specifically Miranda, my piercer! She was so patient, helpful and confident. She's very good at what she does! I love my piercings, and I felt safe and supported (seems silly, but it's actually a pretty scary thing to get your ears pierced). Studs has it down... the experience was basically perfect. Best piercing experience ever! I recently got two flat helix piercings from Kels, and a friend got a conch done by a super nice guy whose name I can't remember - but we really liked them both. The piercers are super friendly, relaxed, and professional. STUDS has created a very welcoming atmosphere which is somewhat hard to find in body mod. And of course, the jewelry selection is fantastic! I enjoy coming to STUDS for mix and match earrings, getting styling advice from the people in the store, and I'll be back for a couple more piercings in the future. read more

I got my third holes pierced about 3 months ago, and they have both been irritated and swollen ever since. I was finally able to squeeze the earrings out (very painful). After removing, I realized how infected they are..not sure if it's keloids forming or what but they're puffy and bleeding. I've never had this issue with my other piercings and I took even better care of these (saline spray, etc.). Was so excited but am disappointed with my experience. read more

I was really excited as soon as I found out Studs was coming to Austin and ended up disappointed in every aspect. I went in with questions on different piercing options and got told one thing by the front employees and got completely opposite guidance by the piercer. I was caught off guard and the piercer was pressuring me to make a quick decision (both employees kept very obviously pushing me to get the most expensive jewelry). I got 2 piercings on the same ear and they ended up incredibly infected even with me following healing protocol perfectly. I have 8 other piercings from tattoo shops and recommend them so much more. One piercing was so infected that I woke up with skin grown over it and eventually had to push it out. I wouldn't recommend studs to anyone - professionalism, pricing, safety and quality are all lacking. read more

I went to Studs for the very first time a few weeks ago to get snakebite piercings in my upper ear/cartilage. Booking the appointment online was really easy, and I appreciated being able to see all of the earring options online before going in. I was a little late for my appointment but they were still able to make it work! The only surprise was that the website doesn't indicate (at least I didn't see it) that not all of their studs are options for when you're piercing. The piercing options are all way more expensive, which brought the total cost of my appointment to about ~$250 (not including tip) which I was definitely not expecting. That being said, I've never had piercings hurt so little immediately after or heal so quickly. I'm coming around to seeing it as an upfront investment that pays off! The fact that they are all flat backs also makes them so much more comfortable than a regular piercing you'd get anywhere else. I also appreciated how Chris helped me pick out different options. Such a cute and professional piercing shop! The aesthetic is SO SoCo Austin like wow. Everyone was lovely but my piercer, Chris, was by far my favorite. They were super chill and relaxing to talk to prior to piercing, and answered any questions I had. I got both my conch and helix done. They timed the piercing for when I exhaled which was super helpful, since it is metal going through your ear. They made sure that the placement was conducive to healing (for wearing masks and such) and even gave me a piece of candy after! Lol. The whole vibe of Studs is top notch, just like their staff. This STUDS location is literally perfection! From the staff to the clean environment, my besties and I experience was everything we could have asked for. Alex did a fabulous job answering all of our questions and checking in on how we were feeling throughout the whole process! Both girls who checked us out were so sweet too! I was actually surprised when they showed me in store other options that were cheaper but I still went with my first choice. It's a bit crazy in there. I was skeptical to come here because I've always gone to tattoo studios for piercings but I'm glad I gave them a chance! I got my third and fourth lobe pierced and my forward helix jewelry changed. The piercing jewelry ranges from $30 and is either titanium or gold so it won't tarnish or irritate your ears. I've had two different piercers and they've been amazing with helping pick jewelry and piercing. For the cancellation they gave my $15 off my appointment. Which I was happy about. The over all experience was good I just wish they were more helpful with picking out jewelry. This was my first time going to studs and I was a bit disappointed with my overall experience. I agree with another reviewer that maybe I watched to much tik tok and expected more of a styling service but that was just not the case. I showed up and they were very busy so I booked an appointment for the next day and made sure to arrive about 10 minutes early as they suggested. My appointment was at 12:20 and and I didnt get taken back until about 12:50. However they were nice enough to give me a discount and a free saline for my wait. BUT waiting there was painfully awkward and I feel like making me come back the next day to be there for an hour was annoying. Especially since they took what I assume were "walk ins" since they had their sign out welcoming them... There were 3-4 staff members and only one piercer which doesn't make sense to accept walkins. I ended up being there over an hour for a 20 minute appointment. The highlights; they had cute options for earrings (however expensive). They gave out a cute bag with stickers and a coupon for your next piercing/ purchase. Everything was VERY CLEAN which is honestly the most important part. My piercer was very sweet and made sure I like my placement. For my rook, I did bleed which I think surprised both of us, but she handled it really well cleaned up and did it again. I spent almost $250 with the discount they gave me for waiting. I got 2 piercings. One with a gold earing and one with a titanium bar (they were out of gold bars) and one of their sets that came with 5 pieces. UPDATE:*** While the staff was really nice and offered me a discount, after reading my review the company reached out to me to make it better. With that kind of customer service I think I will think of studs again when getting pierced. read more

Great experience! Everything about this place is great, location is convenient the ambiance is great and everyone is so very nice. I had a Helix piercing and it was great you have a consultation first to see what you're trying to get and you can choose your jewelry then you go into a room and you get your piercing done afterwards you get a care card and a date for you to be able to switch your earring when the piercing is healed. The staff is super patient, kind, and helpful here. Although studs is expensive, the quality and look of their product is worth it. Pretty disappointed in the customer service here. Went to get a piercing with my friend for her birthday, and the folks at the counter were far from friendly. We weren't allowed to go back with each other and the prices of the earrings are deceptive as they aren't sold in pairs--which we were not told in advance. When I asked for a breakdown in pricing, I was met with attitude and annoyance.
