I've gotten my flat piercing from Riss way before she had her current studio and always told myself I would come back when I started curating my horror themed ear further. Years passed and she took the steps to finally open her own piercing studio. Now, fast forward to this year and I got my daith and forward helix pierced by her. The experience was wonderful, as always. The vibes were there, the studio is clean and well decorated. It reminds me very much of someone having guests at their home. Got my bridge pierced here in January and just got my Vertical Labret done. All I can say is that Riss is THE best. Both experiences have been nothing short of awesome. 1) Riss ALWAYS asks if you have any questions beforehand. Which is nice if you're too nervous to initiate conversation and questions. Piercings can be super nerve wracking so she does a good job at making sure you're comfortable. 2) Private appointments. From previous experience, walking into a shop with loud music and other people can just make the moment even more uncomfortable. It's so nice to walk in and feel at ease. This is a really late review, but I'm just so happy with this place! I came here with an appointment for my belly piercing that came out. I originally got it pierced at a popular tattoo shop, but for some reason I got a hive.. when I went back to ask them they claimed they used titanium and they have no idea why I was having such an allergic reaction. I know their jewelry was not real titanium, because I have a nickel allergy and I can only use jewelry that's real titanium/gold/silver. Then.. my piercing fell out.. twice. The first time, I AGAIN went back to the tattoo shop and he charged me for the jewelry + piercing.. I didn't complain, I just never went back. He then had the audacity to ask me if I want more piercing and was trying to pressure me to get more.. wtf? So with this horrible experience, I looked for another shop and came upon six26 studio. I told her my concerns, and she reassured me she would make the ball tighter and that her jewelry was real titanium. She was also super sweet and reassuring! She only charged me for the jewelry and wasn't money-hungry. She also didn't pressure me into getting another other piercings. And guess what! I NEVER had hives or any allergic reaction. She was super informative on the aftercare (don't neglect what she tells you and go buy the travel pillow) and I learned basically why all my past piercings failed. I'm not even sure where to start... So my usual piercer isn't piercing at the moment so I thought I would try out someone new. I decided to come here to get my second septum repierced. I've had it before but the jewelry fell out and the hole shrunk. Anyway, I get there and there's a group of 4 ladies, only one of them has an appointment and the rest of them are there for moral support. That was communicated to me by them. First impression.. it was rude, the owner had her back faced towards all of us, no greeting.. okay cool. She proceeds with her appointment (I was doing a walk in). She finishes and come out of the room and as she's ringing up her client, she comes off really rude. The client asked her a question regarding genital piercings and she can't even answer a question. She was asked if she does genital piercings and her response was, "I do some but not all". What is that even supposed to mean? You can't be bothered to fill her in and tell her about your services? Moving forward, it's now my turn. I make my way towards the back and I tell her about my situation(repiercing my second septum). The first red flag was that she talked about her previous client, she said she hates when people bring in a posse.. I'm not sure why I needed to know that? Lack of professionalism!! The second red flag is that she didn't bother looking for the previous hole, she just started clean my nose and then proceeded to place her septum clamps into my nose. I quickly questioned her and she stated she couldn't find the hole...and told me get up and look for it in her mirror. Obviously with the up right angle and nose hairs, it's difficult to see. She couldn't be bothered to look or explain the process. I don't know, I guess I'm used to my piercer explaining his tools and creating a safe environment. Making sure I'm comfortable before doing anything. Anyway, this owner really rubbed me the wrong way.. She looked blazed out of her mind and lacks professionalism. Maybe it was because I came right before she closed.. but that shouldn't matter. If you're open, make sure you're attentive and present. read more
