The Village Goldsmith in Glendora Avoid this place! I took 4 items there to be repaired and it was a nightmare. I wanted to replace a small diamond I had lost from a ring, I wanted to remove two diamonds from another ring, sadder a necklace back together, & replace a watch battery. I dropped off all 4 items on Wednesday & was told by Tuesday it should all be done. Tuesday I got a call saying they were not able to find a diamond that matched the size of the diamond I had lost (it was a tiny chip of a diamond, weight .08) therefore they were not fixing anything and to pick up my jewelry. I am appalled! They kept my jewelry almost a complete week and did nothing! The sales girl Lisa's exact words were "we have a boatload of other jewelry." They lost my business. read more

I don't know what else to say about The Village Goldsmith other than it is probably the best and only jewelry store I go to. My family and I have gone here for years, and we have never had any issues at all with them. We've both bought jewelry from here and had our jewelry repaired. I can honestly say that there is no one else I trust more to repair my jewelry. I know that not only are they going to keep it safe, but it is going to be repaired in a manner that is true to its original design. They get the jewelry back quick, especially for the amount of work they put into each piece. As for buying jewelry, they have gorgeous jewelry. You know that you're getting jewelry that is high quality and well made. I've never had jewelry from here fall apart or have anything bad happen to it. I've also consistently bought watches, and I've never had any issues with the watches that I've bought from here either. For anyone saying they only have jewelry that is expensive, that is untrue. They have jewelry for every price range, not just high priced. Furthermore, even something as simple as a watch battery replacement they will do quickly and accurately. I come in here (and only into here) to have mine and my father's watch batteries replaced. I've never had a single issue with them replacing any batteries. Elaina and Lisa are both lovely. They're both so friendly and helpful. They both are truly knowledgeable about what they do, and I'd trust no one else to help me with all types of jewelry. This is definitely, without question, the best jewelry store in the area. The area around it (downtown Glendora) is lovely, so anyone and everyone should stop in! read more

I love this place. They are so professional and helpful it's amazing. My fiance brought in my engagement ring that needed custom made wedding bands and they not only found a ring that matched perfectly, they cut it to fit and soldered it for such a great price. I bought a watch and needed some links taken out, so I took it to this place. They did it extremely quick (I think I was there for about 5 minutes, total) and they only charged me $10. $10 might seem like a bit much for a link removal, but I have been charged more in the past, so I thought it was a good deal. The staff were all extremely nice and polite, and although I wasn't there for anything else, it seemed like they had a pretty huge collection of jewelry as well. So if I ever need jewelry or more links taken out of a watch, I will absolutely be going back to this place! read more

The quality of work done was excellent - wedding rings soldered together ($45). My only complaint was that the work took four days and was ready a day later than they promised. In addition, I called the day it was expected at noon and was told it would be ready later in the day and that they would call me. They never called to tell me it would not be ready on time - just left me waiting around all afternoon trying to plan my other errands around it. They did call me when it was ready, but an apology for wasting my afternoon the previous day would have been nice. The people manning the shop were very nice. read more

Visited The Village Goldsmith to have a battery replaced on a watch and have two watches sized. In the past, I have beautiful and expensive custom pieces made at this store. Was always a pleasure to do business with them in the past. Today, that was not the case. Was greeted my the store clerk, and she frowned when I told her I needed a battery replaced on my watch and two watches sized. She looked at the watch and said it could not be done today "because it was too difficult". I've had the watch ten years, multiple batteries replaced and no one has ever said that to me. She said I could leave the watch and pick it up Tuesday. I declined, because I needed the watch and I knew I could get the battery replaced, without issue up the street. The clerk seemed offended I did not want to leave the watch. She measured my wrist and my mothers wrist, for the watch sizing and said the jeweler was at lunch at this time. She said she would call when the watches were ready. Several hours later, she called and I picked up the watch. When I entered the store, a salesperson that I have not seen in years came over and I greeted her and said I haven't seen you in years. She said and I'm quoting " it's not worth our jewelers time for ten dollars a watch, to stop what he's doing a size a watch". "Normally you would have to come back in four days. You got lucky." I left with the watches and my mothers watch was sized too small. My mom returned to have the watch resized. The same salesperson would not resize the watch and told my mom to get out and to not come back. Gladly. Went back up the street to Watches and Gold, and he gladly resized the watch, without the attitude. read more

My Fiance got my engagement ring from them and I was totally blown away by what an amazing job he did. They worked with him to get the best quality diamond they could in his price range. I have a beautiful gold bracelet that belonged to my mom. The clasp has been broken for years and I wanted to start wearing it as a daily piece. The trouble was that the clasp needed a piece custom-made, which is why I avoided having it repaired for so long. I brought it in to Village Goldsmith and I was blown away by their workmanship. It was exactly what I wanted, and now I wear the bracelet almost daily. They were able to design a new clasp piece just from my description, fabricate it in matching gold, and make it easy to operate one-handed. It's stunning, and I cannot recommend them enough for their care with my heirloom, and their creativity in designing a new fastener. I plan to bring in more pieces that need TLC, and maybe buy something from their beautiful collection of jewelry. Five stars for sure. read more

Have you ever had the "Pretty Women" experience where you walk into the shop and the people look you up and down questioning if you can afford their items? I guess I was not dress appropriately with my son because I knew that once I walk in there I wanted to walk out. I guess I was not the typical clientele. I wanted to get my gold bracelet fixed because I knew the link was gonna break off. I took off my bracelet and she told me that it would take a week for it to get fix and the price was outrageous. A freaken week?? They had to outsources the work therefore costing more if they do it inhouse. I didn't get good vibes from the people and I left. Maybe she didn't think I could afford jewelry. Oh well I went across the street and was found the owner easier to talk to and felt like they really appreciate my business. They fixed my bracelet in an hour and fixed it exactly the way I wanted it instead of a week and cost half the price. Would not recommend anyone here. read more

I purchased my wedding ring at The Village Goldsmith 24 years ago and was very pleased with the ring and the experience. It's so nice to shop for something so important locally at a family owned business. I've been wanting an update but didn't think it was affordable. I did have a tennis bracelet that I rarely wore so I thought maybe I could incorporate those diamonds into it and surely, Elaina helped me come up with a great new look. We used those diamonds to add a halo to the original marquis and two more rows of diamonds on each side of the band. I got a call from Elaina that the ring was ready which was sooner than they had estimated. I anxiously went to pick it up and when I saw it I gasped as it was stunning. I never thought I'd have such a breathtaking ring. And all at a reasonable cost. I switched from gold to silver and put the gold towards the cost. Elaina knew what design would compliment the marquis I had as well as where to put the added diamonds. She took a real interest in it.
