I went to get deal but was told that it is $75 dollars for wash n cut. Wasn't cut good, Jason rushed to get to next client. He flat iron hair in large sections at the end. I guess I paid for cheap wine. read more

Looking for the right hair person is like looking for true love. We've all had traumatizing experiences. For example, my worst haircut was in Shanghai when the bald stylist (should have been a red flag) gave me a Chinese mullet crossed with an American rat tail. I was single for a while after that. Jaded. I had only been in one long term stylist relationship, which lasted almost 11 years. Things were good, but I feel like we plateaud. Then I found out my best friend (see Jessica J's review) and fiancé both went to the same hairdresser at Studio Oliver. Complete coincidence. So, obviously, I had to find out for myself what the fuss was about. And that's when Nick entered my life. Hilarious, non-forced conversation? Wine while I'm getting my haircut? I'm in heaven. My haircut looked incredible, and at $55 plus tip, it didn't cost an arm and a leg. DON'T LEAVE ME. Moving away? I CAN DO LONG DISTANCE. Please don't make me find another hair person again. Please. Jessica lives in San Francisco now and still gets her haircut here when she's in town. I have seen the light--Nick's the real deal! read more

Love this place Greeted with a glass of wine and the utmost professionalism. Katy was on point with my style and even took the time to be honest with me and tell me what won't work for me and what will. She was spot on with the style I wanted and the color, I definitely will come back. read more

Very expensive, but the ego is free! He was too busy impressing himself with his talent that he didn't listen to any directions. I've had much better haircuts at excellent salons for 1/3 the price! read more

Katie is amazing!!! I was a first time client and using a Scout Mob offer, I made an appointment with whomever was available. I'm so glad it was Katie. She really took the time to listen to what I was wanting to accomplish with my color and she offered her advice. Not only did my color look amazing but it was the best blow out I'd had in a very long time. I think I've found my new stylist. :) read more

I've been coming here for 8 months or so, and I always walk out of the place feeling happier than when I came in. Everyone is so friendly, accessible, and unpretentious. And their prices are great compared to other similar hair salons. I love their friendly old pit bull mix Lola. Slone always gives me a great head massage with my shampoo, takes care of my hair, and makes me feel at home. Honestly I don't care a lot about how my hair looks, but it always looks good to me and my wife agrees. I hope nothing changes here, and I'm looking forward to coming back for years. read more

Over time I've had to begin looking for a new salon. I became less and less satisfied with the service and the overall experience. Taking reco's! read more

Never had my hair cut here, but I did go to the lovely Englishwoman, Zoe, for a massage. She is fantastic. Really knows her stuff.

Nick is absolutely one of the most talented hairstylists that I've come across. I've been to some of the finest hair salons in my past and the service and hair that Nick gave me reminded me of those places. His focus and attention to detail were really one of a kind and something to appreciate. He is a true artist who takes each strand of hair important. Nick not only fixed my nightmare hairdo but gave me the most beautiful, complex haircut. I love it so much!! It's chic, clean and classy, just as I had asked for but much, much better. Thank you so much, Nick :) I love my new bob!! I had no idea, but my haircut is in Chanel!! read more

You cannot get better value and higher quality for the dollar spent than at Studio Oliver. Slone cuts my hair and she really takes her time, listens to what I want and then does an exceptional job. They serve me french press coffee while I am there and they always start on time. This is a great local, easy access, place for a great haircut. read more

My husband and I have been going here for the past six years and we both love it! Slone is the best! She always nails my cut and color and my husband says he will never go to anyone else. The whole staff is fun to be around! read more

I have been here three times: 2/3 visits the appointment was screwed up; and 2/3 visits the person I was booked with no longer worked there. On my last visit, the jr. stylist I was booked with no longer worked there, so they gave me someone that was pretty much double the cost-gee, thanks. I won't be back. read more

If you get a chance, schedule any color treatment with Heidi. You will not be disappointed. There is a reason I have followed her for the last three years, she is amazing. I do not trust anyone with my hair, like I trust Heidi. She is knowledgeable about the products in the salon and will give you honest recommendations and consultations. It is becoming more and more difficult to schedule with her because of her tremendous reputation. Call Salon Oliver today and book with Heidi!!! read more

I love Studio Oliver! Beautiful salon with very reasonable prices. Laid back and friendly environment. I always look forward to my visits to this salon. Nick is hands down the best hair artist I have ever had. He does color like no other and he never lets me walk out looking less than fabulous. I seriously cannot say enough about how great this salon and my stylist, Nick, are. Very highly recommend! read more

Let me first start by saying Heidi is beyond amazing at what she does. It all started with me searching on Instagram for ombres done in Atlanta. I had been living here for over a year but was terrified of finding someone to touch my hair (my hair dresses is in California) I finally came across some gorgeous work and found out she worked at Studio Oliver Salon. My first appointment was amazing I had a red to blonde ombré and I wanted the red brown and somehow she managed to get the red out which has never happened before. Heidi has some serious talent when it comes to color. Today I went back for the second time and we went blonder and let me just show you guys what a beautiful job she did. She's an all around girl who makes sitting in that chair more than just "getting your hair done." Thank you so much Heidi :) read more

Studio Oliver - Hair Salons Near Me - Atlanta, Georgia

Jason was excellent, however the price was over $200 for roots and light highlight and a blow dry. Way over priced.

I wandered in for a haircut and keep returning. My former stylist is no longer there, but now I see Katy. I'm quite happy to have found a great stylist, reasonably priced, and so close to home. read more

It had been many months since I'd had a haircut and my head was a disaster area. I haven't been living in Atlanta for very long and so was on the lookout for a good salon. For some reason I just couldn't get an appointment on the weekends, when most places had reduced hours. Finally I just gave up and chose Studio Oliver on a whim, as they were open till 6pm, so chances of getting in were better. I called around 11:45AM on a Saturday and they told me they could squeeze me in for a shampoo and cut at 12:45. Finally. Yay! So I walked in and was in a smock and on the chair in about 5 minutes. Katie took a look at my hair and I directed her to the ends and she pronounced them dead. They don't want to do anything, she said. My hair was really that bad lol. Anyway I told her to chop off all the damage and cut it fairly short and give me something new. I felt like she really listened to me. She gave me suggestions on hair care and products, answered my questions and suggested some of the products they had for sale without being pushy. She took her time washing, cutting and styling my hair and the end result was really awesome. It's probably the first time that I got a haircut I actually loved. It looked fresh, cute and suited my face. The length was just right. And it was incredibly soft to touch now that the rough pointy ends had been removed. Even Katie herself seemed really pleased with it. One wash later and my hair has lost its initial finesse but is still cute and very easy to maintain. In terms of service, everyone was polite and I was offered a drink when I entered the place. The salon was clean and bright. I used the 45 for 30 discount from Yelp and purchased a small bottle of serum/oil as well. If I'm in Atlanta the next time I need a cut, I'll definitely be coming back to Katie :) read more

Wow! I started coming to Studio Oliver at the beginning of this year and this was the first time in a while since I went to a high end salon and paided $50 for a haircut, but I have to say, in the end, it was well worth it. Now I feel that nobody will be able to cut my hair perfectly like Jason can. Jason is awesome! Super friendly and great at what he does. Overall, the staff is helpful and the ambiance is relaxing; you can kick back with a glass of wine or beer, and enjoy some alternative/indie rock and some really fun conversations. I really recommend you give this quaint salon a try and I bet that you won't be disappointed. read more

I'll start with the best attributes of Studio Oliver. The products - you can't beat Oribe, Moroccan Oil, and Bumble & Bumble. The receptionist - she's super friendly and helpful. Clientele mix - Not overly hipster or stuck-up. Whether you're covered in ink or stopping by on your lunch break from a Midtown office building, you will feel at home. Prices - Very reasonable for Atlanta. Parking - No valets to deal with & no searching for on-street parking all day long. I've always parked right in front of the salon. Now for the not so great. I've been going to Studio Oliver for several months and have always gone to Darrell. Apparently Darrell left (as is apt to happen at salons), but unfortunately no one at Studio Oliver bothered to tell me until they called to confirm my color appointment the day before. Of course they had "no idea" where he went, but they did keep my appointment & reassigned me to Jason. Nice enough were Jason's coloring skills equal to Darrell's. I'm a natural born redhead - strawberry blonde to be exact, but mother nature decided about 15 years ago it was time for my hair to grow in a different color. So I've been coloring/highlighting it ever since. A natural looking strawberry blonde is very difficult to create and I am loyal to a fault to the colorist that can pull it off. While Jason has 15 years of experience, strawberry blonde is not his forte. He foiled low lights & high lights which turned out ok, but left me with the clearly visible roots I walked in with - something I specifically told him needed to be covered. Because I was his last appointment and he had a family obligation he was already late for, I was left with limp hair that didn't look much different than when I walked in. He acknowledged I had roots, only charged me for a partial highlight (a nice gesture), and offered to fix the roots another time. When I asked for an appointment the next day, 4pm was the only opening he had. I was volunteering & wouldn't be free until 5pm. The nice thing and client oriented thing to do would have been to say he would stay until 5pm - but he didn't. I know he has a life, but so do I and I was walking around with roots he didn't cover. Tuesday was his next availability, but I would have had to take time off work - again, not customer friendly. Luckily my home town stylist was able to fit me in Wednesday afternoon and easily fixed my roots & improved what Jason started. Sadly I won't be going back to Studio Oliver and would not recommend them for anything besides a blow-out, simple cut, or simple color. And unfortunately for them, they've lost a client over customer service basics. Always contact clients when a stylist leaves - don't wait until their appointment. You may risk losing the client, but that's better than losing them because of poor service. Be realistic about your skills. Jason isn't a bad stylist, but he's not a great colorist and should not have taken me on as a client. Don't book new clients right before an event you can't cancel - give yourself plenty of time. When you mess up & offer to fix it, be true to that offer and be willing to go the extra mile (or hour in this case). read more

This place is legit. I had just moved to Atlanta and needed a haircut, luckily, this place was 2 blocks away from my apartment. Great atmosphere, drinks while you wait, friendly staff Katie was my stylist. She crushed it. She took her time and would make suggestions while asking if there was a particular celeb or hairstyle I had been going for. Extremely professional and an overall great experience. Men's cuts/shampoos are only $29, why would you go anywhere else? read more

Amazing color and cut! Got so many compliments and had a lovely experience (great head massage). Will definitely be coming back!

Went to Studio Oliver on the recommendation of a co-worker. It is a cute shop in the middle of a residential neighborhood, nice shop, good people, and I came out with a great haircut. I saw Nick but while being in the shop and watching others' work I would go to any of the stylists. Recommend! read more

Cool salon with boutique vibe. Found the owner (Oliver) listed in the "best of" section in Allure magazine, and they weren't kidding. His cuts are always beautiful and he is really good at working with my fine hair texture to give it more body. His color is amazing too!! Every time I come in I want a new shade, and he always gets it right. read more

Excellent service. The atmosphere is casual and fun, and the amenities are excellent considering the price. I made a last minute appointment for a blow out on a Wednesday evening. I was assigned to Heidi (quirky and awesome with fiery red hair). She was fantastic. She noticed that my previous hair cut was uneven and all over the place and offered to fix it for me. This was the best experience I've had at a salon in Atlanta. I will never go anywhere else again. A hair wash, cut, and blow out took less than a hour. I will now come here for my weekly blow out. read more

We went here before my sister's wedding and it was not the best experience. It was not horrible, they just took far too long and by the time they got to all the bridesmaids we were running late. It ended up being a very stressful experience for my sister. Also, I am not sure that the styling in this salon is for everyone. Not all of the bridesmaids in our party wear a lot of make-up and told the stylists that we wanted simple hair-dos and light make-up. They put so much make-up on me, for example, that when I got back to the hotel my sister's life-long best friend did not even recognize me. Several of us wiped off quite a bit of the make-up before pictures were taken because it was just too much. I'm sure that many clients are happy with studio Oliver, but if you and your wedding party are looking for something more subtle and have a tight schedule, this might not be the place for you. read more

I had my hair cut here a few weeks ago. I actually really liked my haircut, but found the place to be a strange and uncomfortable location. First of all, when I walked in, there were dogs running around all over the place. Then, while I was getting my hair cut, the stylists were all using very foul language and saying nasty things about each other and the salon. Hardly relaxing or an enjoyable experience. The worst part was that the brushes they used on my hair looked like they had not been cleaned in months. The place was so dusty and dirty. When I get my hair cut, I want it to be friendly talk and in a clean place. read more

I was part of a wedding party and some of us had our make up and hair done while others just had their hair done. I've never had wedding make up done and I was a little nervous because I didn't want to look like a different person. The same stylist did both my hair and make up. Overall, I was disappointed. The back of my hair (the up-do part) was along the lines of what I asked for, but the front was not at all what I was expecting. I expressed that I was not happy and he attempted to re-do it. It was better but still not great. It was taking too long and the rest of the bridal party was waiting so we moved on to makeup to speed up the process. The first thing he said about make up was that I wouldn't look like a hooker. Then he started layering the make up on my face. It is make up used for models in professional photo shoots. I am sure its great when you are out modeling on a beach in 100 degree temps, but for a wedding I felt ridiculous. Again, the whole process was taking too long and stressing out the bride so I didn't have him re-do anything. I went straight back to the hotel and carefully removed as much as possible. I don't look like myself in the wedding photos and it took about an hours worth of scrubbing to get it all off at the end of the night. Everyone was really nice I just think the final product (especially the make up) was not worth the cost. read more

I recently moved to Atlanta and really needed a hair cut and color. I tried this salon based on the glowing reviews. I was scheduled with Nick and I am not kidding when I say this was by far the best cut, color, and blow out I have ever gotten. I lived in NYC for a long time and have been to some very expensive salons, but my hair never looked like this before. While I'm used to higher prices, these were extremely reasonable. Great place! read more

Go see Katie Low! I never leave her chair without being completely satisfied! She does an exceptional job EVERY time!! Highly recommended!

Heidi is amazing! I'd been to a couple stylist in hopes to be blonde but every time I stepped out of the salon I'd end up too brassy and almost orange. After some research I came across Heidi. She was upfront with me during the consultation letting me know it may take a couple sessions together to achieve the blonde I was going for. She was super sweet, didn't rush our session and really listened to what I was looking for. Cant wait to see her again! read more

I was in town for a wedding and was looking for a place to get my hair and make up done. I called on Thursday for an appointment on Saturday and they were very nice and accommodating. Nick did both my hair and make up and gosh, what a wonderful job he did! My hair and make up lasted the whole night and the next day my hair was still looking on point. He was also very nice and funny and I laughed the whole time while I was there. I made another appointment for the time I was in town, for a haircut. I couldn't believe how patient this guy was. On top of everything, the prices were really good, especially considering how much time and how many products he has used on me. Extremely satisfied and would definitely recommend going there! read more

I have lived in Atlanta for 4 years and it has taken me 4 years to find this place. I've been to several other salons and this one is a keeper.
