Security and staff are quick to process and get you in. May want to pregame as drinks are a bit spendy here. Restrooms set off from the floor with dedicated entrance and exit to make the traffic flow good. Good smaller venue to get up close and personal for a show.

Way to take zero accountability for anything you do to make people unhappy, way to provide atrocious service and then run away from it. Zero improvements... is embarrassing. You're not even trying to do better. Here's my story. My husband had bought tickets back in like May for Slayyyter here. We were really excited about going. We get there, wait an hour in line. Finally get in and we're standing so close to the stage. I'm all excited. And then I start to overheat and feel dizzy. I tell my husband I think I'm gonna be sick and excuse myself to run to the bathroom. I'm running, literally holding my puke in throwing up in my mouth- I finally find the bathroom and as I'm throwing up I hear people outside talking and talking to my husband. Someone's like "yeah a little bit got on the floor, she has to go, yeah" and someone asking if I was drinking. I finish up in the stall and when I come out there is an "EMT" lady and a "security" lady. Both incredibly rude as soon as they saw me. The EMT lady just goes, "been drinking tonight, huh?" I showed her the X on both my hands that meant I wasn't drinking and couldn't buy alcohol in the venue. I told her I've been sober over 2 years and just overheated and I was okay. She goes "go ahead and wash your hands so we can go outside and talk" as if I'm about to get in trouble. I'm like "talk about what? I just overheated" she's like "yeah well venues have policies" and walked out. I'm like ??? Okay? So we go out and there's like 4 different people there telling us that vomiting is a biohazard so we have to leave. They don't listen to anything we have to say, don't offer us a refund, don't ask to check on me, give me water, nothing. They were treating me like I was a stupid belligerent drunk when I was stone cold sober and literally fine to go back in the crowd. Those tickets were like $500. I was literally crying as they shoved us out the side door and didn't even offer any kindness. Absolute insanity. Got ready, drove 2 hours to Boston, waited an hour in line and finally was 3rd row ready to see the show and this had to happen. I sent an email to see if I can get a refund or something because I don't know how they can just treat people that way. Didn't even offer water or anything else either. So incredibly rude. And just out $500 for what? I'm still so upset. It's like man, if you hate people so much and you're a rude, nasty person with no compassion, why be a fkin EMT? Again. Clearly yall don't even care but I'm posting this for the awareness of others. I'm not going to be silent about this one. I'm 32 and been to so many concerts in my life. Saw Lady Gaga 6 times. Twice in the big city of Chicago. Never had an experience this horrendous. You truly should be embarrassed. And I will be emailing and writing reviews and spreading the word about this issue until something is done. Very loud space and could use some more seating for the event, but was a fun gathering for ISDA hosted by LSEG. Cool venue, contains both the Wang and Shubert Theatres. An extraordinary gift in 1983 from Dr. An Wang, founder of Wang Laboratories, ushered in the era of The Wang Center for the Performing Arts and lead to a total of around $10mm in donations to help restore the theater in the 1980s.

Unless you live downtown or work in the city and catch a movie on your way home there isn't much reason to visit this theater. There are more screens here than Assembly Row or AMC Causeway, but it's less modern. Due to the number of screens there are sometimes events that are only shown here within the area as well. I can tell that this used to be a very nice theater. However, it's in desperate need of renovation. It probably wouldn't take much. Refreshing the lobby, replacing the carpet in the hallways, and maybe an update to some of the larger auditoriums with recliners or AMC's club rockers. It doesn't even need to be all the the auditoriums, especially since there are 19 of them and even though they are just standard seats (outside of the IMAX and Dolby Theater) they're still decent. A word of caution that the IMAX here is a scope screen (so, not as tall as an IMAX usually is, even at a typical chain theater). The Dolby Cinema is good though and better than this location's IMAX. They're still the two best screens here and I would try to book either if you visit this location over any of the others. AMC could return this to a flagship theater experience by renovating common areas and say... 2 auditoriums (into Prime, or additional Dolby Cinemas). Right now though, it's dirtier with fewer amenities and a more difficult to reach (unless you're already downtown) than your other options in the area. All screens are laser projection though, and even 25 (yikes) year old Harry Potter looked fantastic (but Causeway and Assembly are also all laser, too). The employees looked to be doing their best, so I hope AMC invests the money to update this theater.
