Inside looks well and this place does offer food service with a press of a button as you watch your movies. Also a table/counter for everyone to put down anything. This place is always on point every time I go. I have not been in yrs but coming back after a pandemic. I can totally say I enjoyed it even more. The theater was super empty and social distancing was highly enforced. The food was amazing and my drink was the BOMB. Will I recommend this place yes and would suggest going as early as 3:30 the movie rates are a lot cheaper. I also purchased my tickets on Fandango and this made it even better. Watching a movie is okay, but be warned that you'll never leave this place with your shoes not feeling sticky, looking around your seat for any stains or food before sitting down, and touching the seat tables. Horrible experience. The movie didn't start until well after the scheduled time. Not even previews started. The server was horrible and took 20 min to bring us anything after we asked. There was not one other person in our theater and the other rooms were mostly empty too. Every time I went out to the hall, I saw our server just hanging out and talking with another server. We scheduled our food to come 15 min before the movie. Yeah, there was no point in requesting that bc it came 30 minutes into the movie. The chairs and tables were nasty! Studio Movie Grill opened late 2012 in Duluth on Venture Dr, in between Steve Reynolds Blvd. and Pleasant Hill Rd. Another location opened on Holcomb Bridge. I like the concept of dinner-and-a-movie theaters because it combines two of my favorite things, food and movies, under one roof. I came here opening weekend for Mama (1/18) and was immediately impressed with the facility, inside and out. It's new and it looks nice. The inside of the theater is swankier than a traditional movie theater because it features a full size bar and lounge. There are flat screens aplenty, displaying everything from live sporting events to advertisements of upcoming movies and specials. One of my favorite things is the bevy of informational displays. Near the entrance is a set of displays showing all the movies currently playing, which theater number each movie is playing in, and how much time is remaining in each movie. If a movie has not started yet, the time remaining before the movie begins is displayed. Additionally, outside each theater is a display which shows the name of the movie, the logo/artwork for the movie, and how much time is remaining before the movie begins/ends. These displays are a stylish touch. Seating is assigned. At the "box office" where tickets are purchased, there is a display showing seating assignments. You can select from any of the available seats. Further inside, there's what looks like a server room with displays that show the staggered movie schedules of each theater. It's cool how they've put this central control room on display for customers to see. Outside the restrooms is another display, this one a "master display," showing the seating layouts and assignments of every theater in the building. This latter display is mainly used by staff. Ticket prices are in line with Regal and AMC movie theaters. Adults should expect to spend between $9.00 (matinee) and $10.50 (full price) per ticket. There is a $3.00 surcharge for 3D movies. You save the most money by catching a movie before noon ($6.00). Be on the lookout for specials and deals online. There was recently a Groupon deal: $6.00 for one movie ticket + one drink. Theater layout consists of stadium-style seating, though the steepness between each row is not as high as a traditional theater. I assume one reason for this is so the servers don't get worn out. The seats are a bit wider than traditional movie theater seats. The seats are comfortably cushioned, have the ability to rock, the seat backs are flexible, and the armrests have cup holders. Finally, each seat has its own table which swivels in and out. Atop each table is a red button which you can press for service. Since it was my first time at Studio Movie Grill, I went with the staff's seating recommendation. She recommended Row I (Theater 8). This is the middle row in the theater. There is not a row directly in front of this row. Instead, it is a wide walkway, followed by the next row. Think of it like the exit row of an airplane. The next row is presumably Row H. Row H is unique because unlike the other rows, where each seat has its own table, Row H has a continuous long tabletop that spans the entire length of the row. Rolling swivel chairs are used for the seats in this row. The food was OK. I liken Studio Movie Grill's menu to mainstream chain American restaurants like Applebee's, Chili's, and Ruby Tuesday. Pricing is about the same too. Expect to spend about $10-15 per entree. Each menu item is sized for one person. So if you order a pizza, it will be personal pan sized. A full drink menu of both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages is available. Most non-alcoholic beverages, such as soda, are $3.50 each with free refills (menu doesn't specify free refills). I tried the Steak Sandwich ($12.50), Sun-dried Tomato & Arugula Pizza ($10.50), and Side Salad ($4.00). The sandwich was served on a sourdough filone and came with melted mozzarella cheese and sauteed peppers, onions, mushrooms. The sandwich was bready. The pizza was thin crust and also came with sweet onions, feta cheese, and a balsamic glaze. It was messy to eat, particularly inside a dark theater. The toppings were loose and falling everywhere. The salad was basic, consisting of Romaine lettuce, Roma tomatoes, and croutons. It was sufficiently fresh. In comparison to a traditional movie theater experience, there are a couple main differences: 1. The lighting is slightly brighter inside the theater so you can somewhat see and eat your food. However, it's still pretty dark and at times, it's like dining in the dark. 2. Servers periodically roam around to check on customers or to fill requests. Combined with the clinging and clanging of silverware, this can be somewhat distracting. Just a reminder that you are not getting a pure movie viewing only experience. One of my fav movie spots. I try to come here on a groupon. Anytime I see dinner/ movie spots pop up on groupon I buy several. The food is alright. My favorites are the sweet potatoes fries/ buffalo or any tender they offer and the blue raspberry margarita. They have a full bar. If you like, you can hangout there at the bar and knock back a few if your there ahead of time. If your show starts while your sipping a cold one, you can just take it inside with you to your seat. This was my first time coming to this location. I would NEVER come back. To purchase the tickets it was a long wait time. We arrived at the about theater 8:10. We were told we had to wait until 8:15, we would told they let people in 15 minutes before the movie. We were allowed to be seated at 8:15. We already knew what we wanted to order because we looked online previously. When we arrived inside the theater there was like 4 other people there. We pushed the button and placed our order at 8:24. 2 for $28 1/2 nachos with pico on the side Chicken tenders and fries Meat pizza without pepperoni Pepsi and Tea I was told that I couldn't make changes to the pizzas initially. But then he said I could at the last minute. The previews started at 8:30. The nachos arrived WRONG. They put the pico on the nachos. The tea was a actual soda. So we sent both back. Waited patiently for them to bring the right items back. The nachos were good when they were brought back correctly. We never got our replacement tea either. We inquired about our order at 8:55 because everyone else was getting there food but us. The lights went out for the movie to start at 9:00. I cancelled my order then, because I didn't want my food when I couldn't view it. My order was placed before some people was even seated. The need to work on customer service. I've been coming here for years and The best thing about this movie theater is the ticket prices ($6 tickets on Groupon Mon-Thur) and the Full Bar!!. When you walk in you can see the effort they put into making the environment feel more classy and upscale compared to a AMC and such, however since this is a eat-in/during the movie kinda place they should put more effort into their food. Food for the most part: Sometimes I'll come and not even order any food (only drinks) bc in all honesty the foods not that great. Tastes like mediocre pub food. Burgers are usually bland, they charge you extra for every damn thing. But my favorite thing to get on the menu is their wings!! They come by "1lb" or "2lb" portions. I always get it in the Thai chili spice flavor and no. It doesn't come with fries. **Side note: is it just me or didnt studio used to make their own ranch?? I remember it being like Taco Macs .. not runny and fluffy. If I wanted to eat in for some reason and We didn't want the wings I'll usually just go with the 2 for $25 deal. We ended up spending about $135 in food and drink - and overall enjoyed the food, customer service, and the movie. Stop by here if you miss the first showing of the movie you want to watch and need something to drink or do! I got this enormous blue margarita... I forgot the name, but it's basically the size of a fishbowl, which is so worth your money. It's quite sweet, but allows you to have a good time while watching a movie. I don't really like when the servers are running around the aisles taking orders, dropping off food, refilling waters, etc.. but I guess I only paid $6 for my movie (FYI, Groupon is constantly having discounts on these tickets, just keep an eye out for them. Went on a busy Friday night and the parking lot was extremely full and limited. If there is no where to park you might have to park in one of the plazas next to the theater and walk to it. There is also a transmission pole in the parking lot. Watched a movie in theater 10 and sat in row G, we ordered our tickets and picked our seats online but it didn't show any indication that we would basically be sitting at a long table with office chairs and confusing numbering. One of the guys who got there before us seemed to be in my seat and was told by the staff that was the correct seat so that was confusing, we all just ended up sitting wherever was available at the long table. To avoid any confusion i'd suggest to stay away from that row and get a regular cinema seat. If I happen to go there again I don't think I would order any food from there maybe just drinks. I ordered a cheese quesadilla which came with fries but all the food was room temperature as though it had been sitting out for a while so it didn't taste fresh. I also ordered a strawberry milkshake which was very sweet and the cup it came in sort of looked dirty around the rim but it was hard to see any of what I was eating due to the lighting. read more

Wow... I mean, I had to do this review immediately. This is the first SMG I've ever been to so have no other experience to compare it to then other theaters I've been to and let me say this: I didn't even make it to the trailers before I requested my refund and ran out of there with my daughter. Expeditiously. We arrived early, about 20m prior to showtime for our film because it suggests that in the email. That you arrive early to purchase food so that by the time the show starts, food will be prepared. The theater rooms are small, which honestly I don't have much problem with. More intimate setting. But when we sat down .... LAWD. The seats aren't recliner seats as stated online. These seats are the most uncomfortable, squishy, seats that you will ever sit on. The only part that was movable was the back as if you were in a rocking chair- which is odd. I want to be exaggerating here but I'm telling you: I'm not. Not only did we spend about 5 minutes trying to readjust ourselves in the seat, but when I look at the table connected to my seat, it's filthy. Like sticky. Like I actually touched something that made me immediately put on hand sanitizer. (We were so early for this film that we passed the cleaning crew leaving out; so what exactly were they cleaning?) I got a wipe (because moms always keep wet ones) and just wiped down our tables and tried to put on a cute face for my daughter who I can tell is starting to look at me like I failed our mommy-daughter date night. Now this gets better.. The guy at the front who scanned my ticket said the only way to order was to download the app. I'm sitting in this theater, going through the motions of downloading an app and the such and I see an older couple towards the bottom, getting served with a waitress who's taking their order? So now I'm confused.. Then I see a red button on my table so I'm assuming "Okay, this is how they did it". I press my button and wait. About 3-5 minutes later, a very rude lady (whose name I should've gotten but I was so over the experience at this point I was planning my exit) came over to us and didn't greet us whatsoever but immediately pressed the button and motioned towards the lady at the bottom helping the couple and said "she'll be with you when she's finished over there" with the nastiest attitude as if I'm interrupting her work day and walked away. Nothing other than that. NOTHING. As soon as she's walks away, my daughter says "well she was rude". My daughter is 6. So now I'm thinking to myself how horrible of a decision this was and looking to see if I could potentially get a refund on my ticket information when we notice a fly flying around the theater.. A nasty fly and we were about to order food... The rude lady then comes back inside in less than 5 minutes and up to us again and states "Oh I can actually take your order now." ... No, thanks. I asked how do I do a refund and she said I could go to the front where I got the paper tickets or try online as long as it's an hour before your show. My daughter and I packed our things, requested our refund online and went to another theater showing the film we wanted to see that was an hour later at Regal. Date night saved. I will NEVER walk foot into this establishment again and I highly suggest if you enjoy a comfortable setting and good customer service during your showtime experience, to reconsider another option that isn't this one. I think that at this point, I have given up on any movie theaters that offers food. We came to see Lion King on opening night and had bought tickets online. There you can reserve your seat and just come in. We came in early knowing that we wanted to get our food order in early. Otherwise, they will be bringing your food as the show is starting and block your view. Unfortunately even though we arrived 30 min ahead of time (before others got there) we didn't get our order taken until 5 min before the show. Then they brought the food and stood right in front of us. We continued to get our view obstructed because they then brought other people their food. A suggestion, if you're trying to get to the other side of the theater, best not to walk in front of the customers. There's a designated walking area up front. Why are you trying to block people when you're just trying to get to the other side? Food was mediocre. The only thing I enjoyed were the chicken tenders and the milkshake. The bill also took a while and we had to wait after everyone left for them to bring us our bill. We asked for it and perhaps they had misplaced it? It took another 15 min before it came and then another 15 min for them to run the credit card. The server explained everything to me she was kind and patient with me. Even though they service you during the whole movie it wasn't as if they were interrupting you or in your way when reordering. I loved it!!! They have two locations in the Atlanta area. They have a full menu and full bar. The servers are constantly checking on you throughout the movie. They bring you to go places and your check 30 minutes prior to the movie ending so you won't be held up at the end of the movie. It was kind of hard trying to read the receipt in the dark though. This may have been the worst theater I've ever been to. 1) The screen was the tiniest I have ever seen, so if the movie is in theater 6, stay away. 2) The staff never came up to us to take our order, even though we were there early. 3) The people in the theater were obnoxious. The chair I sat on rocked back and forth so I had to stabilize myself by putting my feet flat on the floor. The dining experience is very different. Servers will walk back and forth throughout the movie. You have a button and a server will come in during your movie to take your order. This causes an interruption in your movie as the server is constantly blocking your view. During the movie the sound stopped 3 times and it wasn't until the 3rd time that a manager would come in to apologize for the inconvenience and issued re-admit tickets. This was actually my first experience dining at an SMG! I enjoyed it and so did the rest of the fam. I came here with my nephew and nieces to see Despicable Me 3. Service was pretty good from every staff member that assisted us from tickets to ordering meals to the meals being dropped off. The only part that was different, was the staff crawling through the aisles to get receipts signed. The seats were pretty comfortable, but I'm biased to seats where you can lift up the arm rests. The kids wanted to cuddle up, but they couldn't because of the tray tables.lol.We did a few of the 2 for $25 combo meals, which are a good deal when in a group. I ate the Sriracha Chicken flatbread and it was actually yummy. I can just tell it was most likely pre prepared. The chicken tenders were really good also. It was honestly really disappointed I had went with my boyfriend to see the new " long legs" movie (on 7/20) . The movie was amazing. The tickets for both my boyfriend and I were 34 dollars rounded up to the nearest dollar. Before hand we took the time to look at the menu and think about what we wanted to eat, we both later agreed on the so called deal of "2 for $30 sharing deal". Since it honestly seemed like a good deal at the time BOY were we wrong. When we had placed the order the total came out to be 53 dollars ( once again rounded up to the nearest dollar) I remember vividly that we had ordered a lemonade, a coke, the deal which we got the pizza, large popcorn, and chicken tenders. the tip was included (18%). We didn't get the chance to see what we were getting charged for due to the movie already being played. Then when the movie was over we went home. But sometimes something always has to go wrong. On Monday my boyfriend gets charged for 43 something, we tried calling the theater. NO ANSWER. So we took the trip on going back again to see what could be done due to once again my boyfriend being charged for something out of the blue. The Manager that was on duty on Tuesday was a sweetheart. He explained that system does that sometimes and that charge will be refunded just to wait a day and it will be gone. We agree and headed home. Wednesday night rolls around and nothing has happened, so on Thursday after dinner. My boyfriend and I head once again to the theater to figure out what's going on. We went in and asked for a manager, the manager on duty 7/25 WAS SO RUDE!! ( I assume the manager's name is James B, It was shown on the refund receipt ). it looked like he did not want to be there. He just had an annoyed face. We just brushed it off didn't say anything about it because he is "helping" us solve this problem that was made . He goes to the back and looks at the transactions that had been processed with that card, turns out that they were charging us for a whole different movie that we never knew about nor watched. He asked us if we were sure that we didn't see the movie, we both looked at movie was a confused face because he had showed proved of everything to the tickets, the charges to the date and time we had been there. Then He finally refunded my boyfriend the money that was taken from his account and left. At the end of the day, I will never go back here, the food was honestly mid, the popcorn was stale. I would honestly stay away from here and keep going to AMC movie theaters. read more
