I waited in the shop for 20 minutes for someone to come down and help me, but no one came. I even re-triggered the door bell a couple times. I hate to give a 1 star review because the service and quality may be just fine, but if they aren't even around to serve me, how can I know? It seemed clean and adequate inside. Definitely old school appearance. Nothing modern or new. Extra shelves and cabinets seemed to be stored in the front lobby which made it feel like a sketchy storage room/someone's unkept living room. Upon first entry I was a little nervous, but I held true (mostly because the first place I visited told me it would be about 6 weeks until I got my clothes back). As it turns out I had nothing to worry about. I got my two dresses back in a week, and a $18 price tag hits the spot. From what I can see the work that was done (zipper replacement and shortening the straps) was done well. The only downsides. They don't seem very "professional". I've entered when there was no one there and had to wait quite a while to have someone come down. Also, when my dress was returned it did smell a little like an old man. Still. I would go back again.

Every little Asian needs to have an alteration business in her back pocket. Things I look for in…read morethese services are convenient location, consistent service, and inexpensive prices. The fact is, every pair of pants I purchase costs about $10 more than the price at the store; they always need shortening. This is really a preliminary review, since I've only just dropped off my pants, and I hope to be writing a positive update when I pick them up. So far: friendly guy, seems confident, and is eager to serve. He offered to have me double check the alteration before I left, which I've never had offered before. It's not really worth it to have me put my pants on and measure pant legs when the service is only $6! Impressive.

Habib has done dozens of pieces for me, and I am very happy with each one. He never hesitates to…read moreask if anything needs to be changes after he has altered a piece. In fact, several times I have asked for small changes after his first alteration (more for my own comfort, it still looked great) and he hasn't even charged me. All I can say is, Habib wants his customers to be 100% satisfied with the work that he does. It all comes down to communicating what you want. FYI Habib is at this location for alterations on Tuesday and Friday. Other days he is at his location on Harbord. Pieces completed for me: 1 full suit 1 blazer 7 dress shirts 3 pairs of pants 3 pairs of shorts
