Fantastic coffee. Had a pour over dark roast (from Burundi) Acme coffee and it was so delicious! Smooth, complex, layered. Went early on a Friday morning. Barista was friendly but not too. Super cute and chill quiet space amongst the craziness of the wharf. They serve very tasty locally roasted coffee as pour over (no espresso drinks) and teas with very limited snacks. The outside area has a heated bench surrounding a peaceful fountain. read more

My favorite place to get coffee pour over style. I'm not at all a huge coffee drinker but it was so good that I ended up going 4 times last week! The 90 weight Ethiopian coffee is very good. Beware! My caffeine high lasted over 3 to 4 hours each time. Maybe because I rarely drink coffee. You can tell that the coffee is very fresh. The service is great as well. I love the ambience outside. Modern rustic. This place has a heated concrete bench surrounding a koi pond. A great place to relax and enjoy your coffee. Don't expect all the fancy gizmos and gadgets. We came here for a late afternoon coffee and really liked the server, the ambience and location. This cafe is urban cool, store front for a performing arts studio, and located right on the bike trail behind cannery row. The selection of teas seems endless but the coffee offerings are more limited, 4 caffeinated and 1 decaf. All coffees are ground in small batches and are made as pour overs. There are no coffee makers or expresso machines, only a series of pour over cones. Do not expect froufrou drinks here. There are a few tables inside the small cafe but it's best to hang out in the courtyard outside where the cement planter seating is heated. read more

Cool little cafe. Simple and cozy. Just pour over coffee, non of the fancy stuff. A choice of four different roasts from light to dark and that's it for coffee. A lot more selection for teas. The outdoor seating is nice specially on a great day when the sun is out but not that hot. The refreshing sound of the waterfall makes it even cooler. read more

My friend and I ordered ice tea's which was not the greatest idea but once we got home we heated the teas up and they were absolutely amazing, the owner is clearly very passionate about tea and the service she provides she also seemed quite knowledgeable on all the things she was serving. The atmosphere was so great a perfect blend of aesthetics+nature+social+cozy their heated bench was such a surprise I think it adds the cozy feel to it. As everyone else has already mentioned, the heated bench here is so cozy! I had some delicious pear green tea (can't remember the name of it for the life of me) and relaxed with my dog on the heated bench while I drank my piping hot cup of tea. I will be back here for sure! read more

Finally there is an alternative to to nasty Startbucks tea by the Monterey Bay Aquarium. This place has lovely white and green teas and great options for healthy snacks to put in your backpack. Also they have a cool heated outdoor bench by a water fountain for those chilly mornings. Their boutique section is filled with items that left me wanting to come back with more money. read more

Anywhere I go, I have to find tea. Where do I find tea along bustling, touristy Cannery Row? Cut over one block to the pedestrian/bike path that runs parallel to it. Settle down for a relaxing cup of tea such as plum oolong. Nearby are restored cottages where cannery workers lived, and historic markers that tell about the different groups who came to this area to work. read more

We've been trying the coffee all over Monterey - Studio Cafe served us the BEST coffee, very flavorful! The banana nut muffin was fresh out of the oven and was delicious as well as unique. The outside patio is so serene and peaceful. I love the radiantly heated beach. Our server was super friendly and helpful. More people need to check this place out. It's comfortable and inviting with it's outdoor garden and famous heated bench. There are so many teas that even if you're not a big fan of teas, you're sure to find one you like. This place is great! The staff were extremely friendly and explained how tea is made, and even let us sniff half the teas that they had -they all smell amazing. The ambiance is nice as well; they had a pianist playing and have a heated stone bench in the front with lights streamed over head. Loved this place! read more

Sad to find that the economy/demand has pushed them in the direction of selling off their limited stock of tea and they don't expect to restock until spring. That being said I got a few loose leaf tea bags for a reasonable price - will update my review once I try them. I hope business picks up again for them. read more

Absolutely horrible. My boyfriend wanted an iced mocha and they didn't sell it but they promised they could make one. He gets it and there's no chocolate so the owner gives him a freaking packet of chocolate mix. First off how is the mix supposed to emerge into a cold drink and then we ask if they can mix it and they say no. When we ask for another drink she was like "yea for $4 more". I really am unhappy with this. If it's a family owned store I expect better service. read more

This place is great! Delicious and robust coffee! The outdoor patio is also amazing and would be a great place to hand out with friends or family. The woman who served us was really nice and knew the coffee she was serving. I opted to get the very light roast for the caffeine content. Skip the coffee and tea bar at all cost. They try to lure you with decor and a heated bench. The service was so incompetent it's hard to understand how they can call this a cafe. It took 20 minutes to get ONE cup of tea! read more

Awesome atmosphere with super friendly, chill staff. You can't beat the heated bench in front of the koi pond! They had multiple kinds of vegan milk, which is a huge bonus. The barista even gave us a tour of the studio so my daughter could see the ocean murals in the bathroom. read more

Very nice patio and atmosphere. Unfortunately the coffee was mediocre at best. They claim to make pour over but their method takes the name a little too literally, they just dumped scolding hot water over a bed of coffee and gave it to me after it all passed through the filter. The quality of coffee could be good but i wouldn't know since they use a cheap $10 grinder and shake it like they're making a martini. Frankly, the coffee would taste better if they just made drip and purchased a better grinder. read more

Place does not open until 11 AM. I can't say I would go back there because I do not drink my first cup that late. Never heard of a cafe opening at 11 AM and closing at 5 PM. Where does the owner get his/her coffee in morning? Not at work. Good luck with those hours. read more
