I went here for the first time last week, I saw Kat. I went in with 1 year of grow out (dark roots) and the rest bleach blonde hair with some breakage. I explained what I wanted & Kat did a great job with it! I should have spoken up, but I think either Olaplex in with my color or a deep conditioning treatment would have been worth it for my hair. It's been a little frizzy on the bleached/damaged parts that either got more bleach or more dark color. Overall, the hair cut & color is great and I will be back in 8-12 weeks once I've had a chance to get my hair less frizzy with Olaplex & masks at home. read more

I cannot say enough good things about this place! I had previously gone to another salon and the lady I went to screwed up my color so bad I left the salon in tears. I scheduled an appointment with Carly and she worked magic on my hair. She knows color so well and I Feel like she is an absolute perfectionist. I originally went here and was unsatisfied by how my hair turned out and was extremely upset. BUT, I called and talked to the managers and they were totally willing to fix my hair and very receptive to my concerns. I quickly snagged an appointment with a different stylist, Joy, and she turned it all around. You could tell she wanted everything to be perfect because she was constantly checking foils and even asking other stylists opinions. I went to Studio Boom today for the first time - LOVE. LOVE. LOVE. I was hesitant at first - I normally go to over-priced, trendy, downtown Denver salons, but having recently moved to Longmont, I decided to try something close to home. I called in, told the receptionist that I needed the BEST COLORIST available - she crushed it! My stylist was on-time, never rushed, and listened to what I wanted. I needed some color rehab and she walked me through exactly what the process would be to get to what I wanted. My hair turned out SO FABULOUS; the color was amazing, and the cut was better than I had hoped. :-) read more

I wish I could give zero stars but it wasn't an option! I made appointments over six weeks ago for my daughter and her friend to get their hair done for homecoming. We arrived at the salon 15 minutes before our appointment and the girl who checked us in, who advised she's "only a stylist" said that she didn't see that we had appointments. She said she would have to turn this over to the receptionist to handle. The receptionist comes over, the stylist walks away, and the receptionist doesn't even acknowledge us. I turned and asked her "are you trying to work something out"? And she said "bottom line is you don't have appointments today". It's one thing to have made a mistake, but quite another to have made a mistake, not apologize for it, and then be rude to the customer about it!! There was absolutely zero effort made to try to make it right, and the level of absolute disrespect from this employee was disgusting. So disappointing...we certainly won't be back. read more

I will start this review off by saying that I hadn't had a haircut in a LONG time, like 3 years long. Not even a trim. It's not cause I'm completely gross, it's cause I'm busy, and my hair isn't in that bad of shape. I called Studio Boom and made an appt. I was able to come in an hour later to get my hair cut. WHOO! I love speediness! I am an impulse cutter. If I don't do it RIGHT then, it will probably be another 3 years, and my hair was already to my ass. I looked on Pinterest, found some hair styes I liked, pinned them and then went to the salon. I believe Joy is who cut my hair, and she did EXACTLY what I wanted. I was nervous, not gonna lie. I had the normal worry if "what if they get chop happy?" or "what if they put a layer that starts at my eyebrows???" but nope. She was hilarious to talk to, so I really enjoyed my time there. She cut it exactly how I wanted, and here it is 2 weeks later, and I am still in love with my haircut. I definitely recommend coming here if you're looking for a really great staff, great stylist and awesome prices. read more

When I made an appointment for a mini manicure, I let them know I had gel polish to be removed. The appointment was fine, but when I went to pay, they tried to charge me an extra $30 for the gel polish removal! Even after I protested, they still charged me an additional $20 on top of a $16 service. Their prices may look reasonable, but beware of their hidden costs. read more

I have a pixie cut that is really hard for some people to handle. I've been all around Colorado trying to find someone after leaving my old state, where I had a very talented artist. Studio Boom is filled with, what seem to be, strong, talented professionals. I won't say my cut is always perfect with my person, but it's very close and what I care about even more is that she is always trying to learn new techniques to help make my cut just what I want. I'm not sure what Studio Boom promotes or offers in terms of professional development or trainings for their staff, but the person I see at Studio Boom takes it upon herself to to online and watch videos or learn from the best. I am sure I can be picky at times, but she's always so patient and helpful. The photos on yelp are a bit outdated and I'll do my best to take photos next time I visit, but the place had a re-do and looks amazing. I love the vibe they're going for and it works for them really well. I think they excel in color, but I don't have any experiences with that. Overall, I'd recommend! read more

Extremely disappointed. Both my sisters go here. I finally decided to try it. I call and ask for a specific time for my self and my daughter. Few hours later I get a call asking if I can move my appointment up to 1230. I say I can't then they ask if I can go with 345. It is not professional for the stylist to call and reschedule to fit someone else in! I understand if they are sick or have to leave. This was not the case. read more

My hair color ended up over processed and I'm now dealing with a lot of breakage. The cut was also not what I asked for. For almost $200 I expected better. First time to Studio Boom. I went because my hubs has been going to Sean and has been very happy with every cut. I saw Caitlyn and had her cut my hair into a pixie. She did a fantastic job. She didn't rush even though the shop had closed. The studio is great! There is a cool vibe inside. It is nice and open and didn't smell strongly of chemicals like most salons. Nice place and modern for the most part. I'm still trying to find a salon in this state that I actually like though. My husband went here after me and we were hoping that this would be our new spot but they didn't trim his mustache to the best of their ability compared to Finley's in Westminster, they also didn't put any gel in his hair to make it look finished, and they didn't trim his ear hair. They also didn't trim his beard correctly and the stylist told my husband that she had to keep looking at her cell phone to make sure her husband was ok. First of all, if you're cutting someone's hair and they are paying for it don't tell your customer that information. Keep it to yourself and either do the job or leave for the day. I also wasn't satisfied with my haircut. For the life of me I don't understand why hair stylists don't just leave hair alone to some extent. My hair was long and she cut it dry then wet my hair to cut the rest. I thought these "experienced" stylists would know that hair shortens when it's dry so you're not getting the correct look when cutting the hair wet. Anyway we are displeased and will go back to our hour long ride to the other place. read more
