Brandon, as always, is amazing! I brought my almost 7 year old in for a basic boy cut knowing that Brandon cuts hair fast. Too long have I been mired in the agony that is the $9.00 haircut, and now I have found the phoenix of rebirth. That phoenix is Studio Boom! Great location with a very nice layout. I felt like I was in some sort of futuristic hair salon designed by Martha Stewart and Bear Grylls. Nicole was great from the start. Was unsure about going to a salon for a mens cut. She had a great introduction with me and went over my wants and needs for what I was looking for. Her conversation was fantastic and I am glad to have met such a bodacious amiga. I had gotten my hair cut a few years back at this salon, and remembered why I never went back after the hair cut I got. I asked for a simple trim. Trim my layers and bangs. I was supposedly seen by a top tier stylist. My ends were uneven and choppy. My bangs did not blend in with the rest of hair and were not at all what I asked for. To top it all off it was $50, so I felt like that it was way overpriced for just a trim. I had to get my hair fixed by someone else. read more

Caleb was incredible, he listened to what I wanted and did a fantastic job. I have a lot of hair and wanted to keep length but shed weight and he kept pulling out more and having me feel it to check for heavy spots and make sure it was feeling good. What's not to love? The atmosphere is super cool and feels like an actual salon...not just a "hair cut" place. I'm pretty open to trying something different, within limitations, but also really want the advice of someone who knows what they're doing. I scheduled an appointment with a specific person over 2 weeks ago for 3 weeks out. I get a call saying that there's been a scheduling error and that the original person I asked to have cut my hair is double booked? Really? I waited 2 1/2 weeks for them to let me know. Went in for some color and my brows done. The color was fine, but was one color, not a big deal. But the brows, what a disaster! I got them tinted and waxed - the tint looked fine at first but faded abnormally fast. I don't even want to talk about the shaping... I was too embarrassed to say anything to her they were so bad. tldr; everything from scheduling and checking in to getting my cut was perfect, and Brandon did a fantastic job! Anything that offers online booking gets a plus in my book since I work all day and can't make phonecalls often, and I chose Brandon based on the reviews I read. Parking and checking in was simple, and Brandon greeted me just a few minutes after sitting down. He listened to what I wanted (which was a trim and clean up) and got to work with a shampoo using Oribe products, which was another plus (though they're phasing out the line, bummer). Brandon was super friendly and I could tell immediately that he enjoys what he does. While cutting my hair parted in the middle, I said I was afraid of my middle part. He talked me into trying it out even for just a few hours. While I was turned around, he curled my hair with a straightener (which I never do at home) and I honestly got a bit nervous about the amount of curling going on, however, once he turned me around I fell in love with the outcome. i have tried to give this place a chance. they cant cut short hair... i have been called and rescheduled a few times because a stylist couldn't cut hair lol is this a salon? do they not train in all areas? the front desk doesn't understand that a bob is different than a pixie cut.. this last haircut is the absl worst one i bave had and it was with a level 5 stylist... i have ha d a level 2 and 4 do a (slightly) better job. i wont be going back its a joke. i moved here from Austin and maybe i had higher expectations because Austin is a hair city... but i think i could have gotten a better cut from a toddler. dont go here if you want to feel cute, they only understand long stringy blonde hair. read more

I love this place! Wish I had found them sooner! I had a haircut with Joy, and my eyebrows tinted with Hayley. Joy cut my hair exactly how I wanted (from long to a shorter A-line), and was a blast to talk with. After the haircut was done Hayley squeezed me in for an eyebrow tint. She was so sweet and took her time to do exactly what I wanted. Started off a little lighter then went darker until the color was perfect. Both of them were quick yet took their time! The ONLY thing I can write a con about was the tinting price. I was kind of shocked it was $25 for an eyebrow tint when my haircut was $40. BUT I'm still very happy with how everything turned out! Scheduled me with a beginner stylist without telling me. No warning, reluctant to even tell me when I asked at time of paying. It took 3.25 hours to do one tone highlight for short hair. Looks nothing like I asked for and made me look like I have tons of grey, which is just sad for a middle aged woman who came in with very very little grey. Over bleached by far in what looks now like grey like streaks and drowned in toner so I worry what will happen nexts Did not tell me he messed up just kept treatment after washing in my hair for 45 minutes. No one apologized. Just charged me $115 before tip. somewhat rudely like they barely have time to talk. My head is still itchy 30 hours later. Was late for my next appointment because of this and had to rush out. Who takes 3 hours 15 for short hair with 1 tone highlights with no cut? Looks nothing like the picture I asked for either. Worried what it will look like once toner washes out and also my head is itchy from whatever treatments they put in there. It also took the curl out of my hair which I didn't ask for. So unethical. I called Studio Boom and asked them to set me up with their best color stylist they had and they recommended Sonia. I've seen her for several years now and can honestly say that her color expertise is second to NONE. When I go in there sometimes I have no idea what I want, and she recommends a fun color or style and we look at photos together and she just. Gets. It. I always leave the salon feeling confident and beautiful. I am a stay at home mom who does not have a lot of time to pamper herself, so, I was very excited for my appointment at Studio Boom with Jessica. Being a new client, I have never been to this salon before and I had a little trouble finding it, not to mention I was fighting rush hour traffic and a backed up train crossing to get there. The receptionist told me that they were located by Le Peep, so I drove around the building Le Peep is in twice and didn't find them. Come to find that the salon is actually ACROSS the highway from Le Peep. I was 9 minutes late for my appointment (NINE!!) and the receptionist very rudely and apathetically told me that Jessica refused to see me for my hair cut appointment because I was late. I find this absolutely ridiculous. Not only did I miss out on a well deserved hair cut, but I even had to arrange for a babysitter so that I could leave the house! It's really hard to be able to leave the house as a stay at home mom, and this was just heart breaking. I sat in my car in their parking lot and sobbed. I can't even count how many times that I have had to wait for a stylist who was running behind schedule at other salons, and the one time I am late, they close the door in my face and refuse to see me. The message this sends to me is that the stylists there are too full of themselves and my business means nothing to them. I am in the market for a new stylist, so had I been treated better, I could have become a lifetime client. I will never set foot in this salon again! read more

You can get a decent hairdo at Studio Boom. I've gone there for years. My stylist left about a year ago, though, and I've had a hard time getting what I want from anyone else there. The decor at the new place is really nice and has a hip, trendy vibe. I really like the big graphic paintings on the walls, apparently all done by a very talented teenager. Unfortunately, I think that's kind of as far as it goes. A lot of the "coolness" feels really forced. Since my stylist left, I have gotten cuts from 3 of the other ladies at Studio Boom. I've heard a lot of talk in the chair about how much texture my hair would have and how different and exciting my cut would be, only to wind up with the same thing I see all over the place, which really isn't my taste. I always wound up looking like a stereotypical soccer mom, and even actual soccer moms don't want that. The last cut I got was bad enough to force me to find a new salon entirely. If you are looking for a conservative hairdo, however, or you're interested in something really average (and there's nothing wrong with that), I think you could easily find worse places to go. As for the staff, I have yet to meet anyone there that wasn't completely warm, friendly, and interested in helping. They are a very pleasant bunch. All in all, it's not a bad place by any means, but if you want something really amazing done by an artist, your money's better spent at Urban Pearl in Boulder. read more

I'm kind of afraid to give them another chance. I will say, I had awesome service for a rather long time with them (over 2 years!) BUT...I went in to have my hair cut to donate it. I went in, with it separated into smaller pony tails to be cut, already measured out, so that I wouldn't have an extreme a-line cut. The stylist I was booked with was running behind... ...so they switched me to another stylist. I don't even remember her name. But they switched me, without asking me if I was okay with the change. She took my hair out of it's separated sections, stuck it in a ponytail in the back, and asked me to "trust her"--which I do, to a point. These people do hair a lot. They know what works, what looks good. At least, that's how I used to think. She cut it into a severe aline. Like, the back part of my head? Nearly shaved. Less than half an inch of hair in some places. It's been six months. I HATE my hair. I've gone to another salon since to get it fixed. They were "Seriously, who butchered you?!" about it. Whatever the stylist did...well, several attempts at fixing it...and it's still awful. It's just barely getting better. *Note: I've donated my hair FOUR times now. I'm no stranger to suddenly having short(er) hair. That's not the issue here. The issue is changing stylist without asking me, and the stylist ignoring my wishes. Maybe someday I'll try them again since it was overall, more good than not...but this one cut? Has seriously made me fear that stylist...and I don't even remember her name.
