This was my first time back in a real salon. I haven't had great experiences at salons but this one was different in the best way possible. The service was prompt and courteous and I loved being able to have Sprite while I waited for my appointment time. The hair stylist absolutely understood what I wanted. It was a massive change and a risky haircut for me but she did it perfectly. I still love it. She didn't try to change my mind or judge me for wanting to chop off almost all of my hair which was really nice. She didn't say anything along the lines of you'll regret it or it'll take forever to grow back. It was nice to be taken seriously. The overall service was amazing. Love this place! I was in search of a new salon in the Boulder area, and found this one so I figured I'd give it a try! I went in for a cut and color since my color was so grown out and brassy, and my stylist Nikee was so helpful and super knowledgable about what I needed and what would work best for me. The scalp massage was AMAZING, and the atmosphere was so great. They offer drinks and have little chocolates, and i ended up absolutely loving my cut and color. This is the first time someone has cut my bangs and didn't cut them too short. They were so perfect. They also have a good line of products that i ended up purchasing and I love them. Studio Be has been my go to salon for almost a year now! I always struggled to find a salon that suited me, but Studio Be has everything I need! The staff is extremely knowledgable and can help you find the perfect hairstyle/color with processes that are nourishing for your hair! When I first came to Studio Be I had bleach blonde hair that was excessively damaged (as in broken, and falling out due to bleach), and now my hair is the healthiest it's ever been! I went in not knowing if I could go from blonde to black in one sitting, but Emily, my stylist, did an amazing job helping me make the switch! She also offered emotional support since I was nervous about the change. As a loyal customer of studio be for over 4 years, I have never had any qualms about which stylist I visit. When the Boulder location opened I couldn't have been more excited as I live in Denver and the commute is half of the drive time it usually takes me to get to Fort Collins. I have to hand it to the girls at this location... They are all so genuine and charismatic. I feel as though every time I visit I am catching up with girlfriends- they always make me feel welcome and keep the fun going. I want to highlight one stylist in particular, Gianna Falbo... What a miracle worker. Despite my ever changing hair moods and ideas, she always makes me look and feel my greatest. I had been going to the same stylist for awhile at Juno, and LOVED her, but was trying to save some money, so I thought I would give Studio Be a try. The staff was friendly, scheduling was super easy, and Katherine was a pleasure and did a highlight and cut fairly quickly. While I did like the cut, I wanted blonde highlights that wouldn't grow out too quickly and mentioned that I had gotten balayage in the past - instead I got foil highlights, which looked great for about 3 weeks. I'm not sure what all the rave reviews are for, this is really not a place I would brag about. I had my hair washed by Allie who was curt and not very welcoming, she seemed as if she'd rather be anywhere else. My haircut was done by Emily, and while I'm happy with the cut and styling I noticed a large patch of my hair was still damp after leaving the salon. I guess you get what you pay for. On the upside, the front desk staff was welcoming and knowledgable. I will give Studio Be another shot, but may be looking to get my hair cut elsewhere in the future. read more

I've now visited Studio Be twice and I would highly recommend Gianna F! She is so personable and made me feel comfortable right away. She really listened to what I wanted and put me at ease right away. I don't always feel comfortable trying new salons but I loved my hair when she was done and she is stuck with me now! I went here for the first time for a cut and color and LOVED it. I came in with no idea what I wanted and left with a great look. I had Kara and she was so helpful- again, I had no idea what look I wanted but she knew what would look good. Everyone in the salon is so nice and I really enjoyed the separate room for shampooing. Dim lighting, soothing music AND a head massage. I just about passed out. I'd definitely recommend this salon to anyone. I went in for my first cut at StudioBe today and I was beyond impressed! The salon itself, the music played, the products used, etc. all blew my experience out of the water. I was warmly welcomed as a new guest and felt like the staff was truly happy to have me in. Caitlyn W did a great job of not only cutting my hair, but also explaining in depth exactly what she was doing every step of the way! I hate when hair stylists just go for it without telling you what's going on, but Caitlyn was extremely sweet and I love my new hair! I went to the Boulder studio and had Haile, who really was fantastic! Even my male roommate said "wow, I like your haircut," and he wouldn't notice if I cut off an arm. They are such wonderful, fun, interesting people that work there. I have never been to a place set up with a a separate low-light room with calming music where they washed your hair and made you VERY relaxed. I know about the place because they were giving free hair cuts, styles and colors to people in the service industry because they understand it isn't a great paying field and they work really hard. What they were doing was giving information about donating to There With Care http://therewithcare.org/ , a wonderful organization that helps families in need when their child has a critical illness. What an amazing salon to do a free service and give donations to a local nonprofit! read more

By far the best salon experience I have ever had, and THE best highlights/balayage I have ever gotten. The whole salon has a very calming atmosphere and feels very warm and welcoming. My stylist was Caitlyn W. and she was amazing, I'd recommend her forever! I've been to Studio Be three times now (all for haircuts with Shayna) and I LOVE it. I moved to Boulder almost 2 years ago and had not found a stylist who could cut my hair short and still keep the styling soft and feminine. Shayna is fantastic at this. With each visit, she's fine-tuned the style a bit, improving it each time as she gets to know my hair. Yes, the 10 minute scalp massage is heaven and well worth the upcharge. II booked an all over color with Caitlyn for 2.5 hours. The salon sent me a questionnaire about my hair. It had the general questions about the color and length etc. when I arrived the day of my appointment, Caitlyn told me that she could not do an all over color because my hair was so dark and that she didn't have enough time booked. I was annoyed because I would assume that's the purpose for sending out the questionnaire so that you could gauge these issues before hand. Clearly she never read it and I couldn't understand why there wasn't a notice about darker hair color taking longer when I initially booked the appointment. She told me I would have to come back and do some more color in 2 to 3 months. I was also told about all these wonderful add-ons which was included on their menu. I did take it vantage of two extra items however I was verbally told about a conditioner and an extra service but not notified about extra cost (it wasn't on their menu). So of course when I checked out I was shocked at having to pay an extra hundred dollars and I never received a receipt. I gave the three stars because she did a good job on my hair however they clearly aren't upfront about certain extra costs as well as the extra time needed if your hair happens to be darker. My point is be careful and do your due diligence, should you want a color. read more

I had such an Amazing experience at Studio Be Salon. I had to make a last minute appointment before a trip next week and got booked with Nikee. Never using Nikee before, I wasn't sure what to expect. Once I met her, I told her that I just wanted her to do what she thought would look good. She brought out a photo of a hair color that she wanted to try on me. We went for it and it was Phenomenal!! Studio Be is amazing! Darian was wonderful... she did a great job truly listening to what I wanted for my cut. I wasn't doing a dramatic change in my hairstyle, but wanted it to be more spruced up than just a trim and Darian did it perfectly! She trimmed my hair, added some face framing and light layers. She even made a few changes after it was dry and curled! I appreciated her attention to detail even though it was very busy. The only reason I gave this review 4 stars instead of 5 (I wish I could give it 4.5!) is because the salon was a bit hectic because they were so busy. It could have been just one busy day, but they seemed to be over booked or just tight on time because I waited for quite a while. I didn't really mind and it was well worth the wait, but I am only mentioning it because I think this information could be helpful to the salon or other readers - make sure you have a bit of cushioning time after your appointment if you have other things to do! However, I didn't complain about it at all and they still comped my eyebrow wax even when I insisted it was ok! That was such a nice treat! Overall I had a wonderful experience and would absolutely recommend this salon as well as Darian's amazing talent! Also, other reviewers said that they felt the products were being pushed onto them and I have to disagree! I was never encouraged to purchase anything unless I specifically asked about a product. I had never had my hair dyed before, so I was anxious about finding the right place. Studio Be Salon was great and I swear I didn't see anything but smiles in there. I was recommend to go here by a friend, and I would recommend to anyone else. The reason why I took away one star is that, I ended up with a bit of dye on my face, which a bit frustrating because I went to a dark brown color and I had to be at an event directly after. I also have a LOT of THICK hair (thanks genes), but I've noticed a like 2 pieces that look like they're possibly supposed to be part of my (reddish) highlights but look more like my old hair color. Overall though, I had a good experience. The dye came off my face by the next day, so it really wasn't a big deal if you're worried about that. The stylists were all very friendly and explained everything to me SUPER WELL, which is nice especially someone that had never had their hair dyed before. read more

I had a great experience with Kelsey at Salon Be- I went in with a promotional service but she still valued my appointment and spent an hour working with me and making me feel comfortable asking my questions, she gave me great advice and I really felt prioritized by Kelsey and the other staff. Their wash room is super relaxing, it will make every cut feel therapeutic. I will definitely go back!
