With ample garage parking my car stayed clear from the elements and I didn't have to worry about parking too close to any snow mounds. The salon was clean and welcoming. They even had a hot cocoa station and some yummy chocolates to nibble on. The hair washing station was in a welcoming warm and low lit room. Encouraging relaxation and ease. The hair washing chair even had a elevating foot rest which was super helpful for a short person like me. Ava performed a beautiful blow out for me. My hair is long and thick and not always the easiest to wash or work with. Her expert touch and skilled hands turned my dingy locks into a shiny and soft work of art. I had an awesome balayage with Christina. She really listened to what I wanted and my hair came out perfect. I love it and I would definitely come back to see her again! My only frustration was that the price I was quoted over the phone was *well* under the price I ended up being quoted at the salon, and I had to skip the trim in order to stay within budget. The prices are still fairly reasonable, but everything being "a la carte" (they charge extra on top of balayage for both the trim AND the toner) means that you're not really going to have a good idea of pricing until you're actually in the chair. I have never seen toner be a separate charge on top of balayage/highlights, that was super strange to me. On top of that, there's no parking, street parking is paid, and they don't validate for the garage next door. A little frustrating but fine as long as you're aware of that in advance. read more

Save yourself, and don't sign the "plan of service." There is very small print within that saying no matter how they do, you won't get a refund. After terrible color the first try, I returned for an attempt at fixing the color. One of the stylist said it was "warm grey." That is exactly what a woman my age does not want to hear. The stylist and manager agreed it was not what I wanted, and inviting me back for a third try. This resulted in tiger stripes on the side of my head. After the third try, and again with the team realizing my hair color is terrible, they invited me back for a FOURTH try. I went out to Salon Nove in Louisville, and they fixed my color. I was not going back again. It seems this salon, according to the recent experiences of my social circle, is on a fast decline. read more

To note - the competent stylist in 2019 left this salon to branch out. Seems like a trend at this salon. Stylists aren't always permanent and you must follow if you love. I could not follow because her price was too expensive for me to do that. I am extremely disappointed....extremely. I went to get a partial highlight and my hair turned out stripy. Is it really that hard to blend out hair? They messed up my hair and the overall cost was a disgustingly large amount for barely any bleach on my head. Not to mention my stylist was not nice with my hair and pulled it many times when combing through it. Yes, the staff is friendly but friendliness doesn't make up for VERY bad job that I had to pay almost 300 dollars for!!! Don't go here if you like your hair. I felt compelled to write this review after my stylist left, I followed him, and he subsequently fired me as a client because I had to reschedule an appointment with proper notice, then woke up sick the day of that rescheduled appointment, and had to cancel same day, due to being sick. I have had great experiences with this salon. Have gone for years north in Fort Collins and Boulder. Specifically, when it comes to flexibility and feeling treated well and that my business was important to them. I have kind of a crazy busy life between work and school and this last year I had some health issues after getting covid. Whenever I needed to call to reschedule, due to life circumstances, studio be was so kind and didn't make me feel worse than I already did, though I was always willing to pay the fee if it was less than 24 hours (maybe once or twice) notice they never made me do so. They seem to understand that customer service, kindness and little bit of empathy goes a long way for people who choose to give them their business. Looking forward to finding my new stylist here. read more

Extremely dissatisfied with the service here. I booked a partial highlight which only came with 10 foils. The price for this is absolutely outrageous for only 10 foils. At other salons, they do the full crown of my head, not just a couple of foils. Also big sticker shock when you look at the pricing online vs in the salon. They never told me I had to pay for product on top of my service. I ended up paying over $200 when it was supposed to be half the cost. My hair looked great in the salon but once I got home to inspect it further, it looked like barely any foils were put into my hair and it did not process or lift fully because I have yellow undertones. I called the salon for a "refinement" and they were happy to get me in to do a tone and more foils for the price difference of $30. Then when the manager Rochelle called me, she said that my hair turned out beautiful and they yellow tones are from my shower or shampoo? Mind you, I waited the 48 hour period and DID NOT wash my hair as the stylist advised me. The tones were still yellow. I use a salon shampoo for blonde, and have a $300 filter on my shower. The yellow is not my problem. They are now saying I have to pay for an entirely new service to have my hair fixed. My results and hair that I have to live with each day do not match my inspiration photos. The initial person I spoke to was making everything right, as a business should. Then the manager completely retracted everything that was initially stated to me. Please stay away from this salon. This is NOT how you deal with an upset customer. After about five years of patronizing this salon, I'm now looking for a new place to get me hair cut. have always gone with the lower-end price cut - as a para in our local school district, my price point is lower than others'. This wasn't a problem before this last time in July. I got about 6 inches cut off, as requested. however, my hair isn't falling right afterwards, is very heavy, and the apprentice razored a front section that lies much shorter and frizzy at the front. not happy. also not confident that requesting the salon to fix the poor cut can be done. she literally lifted my hair in one, then a second "curtain," cutting twice (6 inches off at once). this isn't how anybody else has ever cut my mid-back length hair. aside from an apprentice who isn't good at cutting hair, the ambience of the salon is off. her "mentor" sat off to the side and watched her cut my hair...if he taught her this curtain technique, watch out for the rest of the price points! if you have a recome ration for a good cut, please let me know. price point is $50. thank you! read more

I am long overdue to write a review on Kelsey at Studio Be: Kelsey has been my hairstylist for over 3yrs (the longest I have ever stayed with a hairstylist). When I first met her she took about a foot off of my dirty blonde hair and cut it into a sassy asymmetrical cut. She then slowly transformed me into a white icy platinum blonde. In the past 3yrs I have done all the things (see pix) and Kelsey has kept my hair in amazing shape through it all. I've been rose gold, brunette, had the cutest bangs, and then been able to grow my hair back to the length it was when I originally met her. My review was taken down. So here it is again. This place is awful. WORST customer experience I've ever received. The receptionist was rude (unsurprisingly wouldn't tell me her name) and my stylist Natalie was even more inconsiderate. Even though I'd been forced to reschedule 3 times and drove far out of my way to get this haircut, i was practically ignored and forced to wait for my stylist, Natalie, even though the Salon was empty and I could hear chatting with her coworker. But I actually wanted to thank you all at studio Be. My experience here was so bad that it finally gave me the courage to see that there are better salons in Colorado. Salons with lower prices, better haircuts, and far superior customer service. If that's what you're looking for, I'd highly recommend Salon M Adore in Lafayette :) P.S. Victoria is amazing! I got a really bad haircut elsewhere. Also, during the coloring process at the same place where I got the horrible haircut, my hair was stripped of all moisture and shine. I was very upset. I called studio Be and explained what happened. They got me in the very next morning. I saw Victoria. My hair looked like a Brillo Pad. Victoria combed it out, trimmed and shaped it. Then, she shampooed my hair and gave me a moisturizing treatment which she left on for 10 minutes. My hair is very curly and Victoria restored the shine and the curl. I couldn't believe the difference! I will definitely go back to Victoria. My husband said my hair looked fantastic. In fact, he went in to have his own hair cut and is very pleased with the results. He plans to go back, too. Another thing I LOVE about this salon is that they post their prices on their website. None of this snooty Boulder nonsense where you have no idea what they will charge you. I have definitely found my new favorite salon here and I am thrilled with Victoria's work. Love this beauty bar! From bottled water, sparkling water to white and red wine! Their private wash room, relaxing ambiance while they wash and rinse your head was just amazing! I highly recommend. Why also I came back to try them again. I wanted to try Studio Be for the 2nd time, since my last experience at the North FoCo location was so dishonest. I came in the So FoCo location for a highlight bayalage with shadow roots. Because my stylist had to cover my grays, unfortunately, my hair turned out lowlights vs highlights. I realized the next day that i hated my hair. My stylist did not hesitate in fixing it, it was completely redone at no additional cost! She was happy to make it right! She was able to make the correction at their Boulder location, since I live in Denver. It worked out well that way. So happy that we were able to make it work, be on the same page with my hair. I am really picky when it comes to my hair and who I go to. Very rarely that i stay with the same stylist for more than 2 years. I know my hair and know what I want. I love my redo hair, I have not loved my color and cut in a very long time! So happy with how the redo turned out! Thank you for making your customers as a priority! I highly encourage you avoid this salon unless you're interested in over paying for subpar service. I have been visiting Studio Be for over 5 years, primarily in Fort Collins where the service had been great. The last two visits I've gone to the Boulder location and felt aggressively pressured into spending additional money to achieve the generally basic service I was seeking. During the first visit I was told I had to pay for an additional toning treatment and still ending up leaving the salon with orange streaks (pictures below for reference) The salon did set me up with a fix, and I went back and had another stylist re tone. I left with a completely different look than I had gone it for, but at least I fixed the tiger streaks. For my second visit I reached out to a stylist who had worked in this salon, I showed her a picture of what I wanted, and she recommended I book a partial highlight. When I arrived for my appointment I was told not only that I would need to do a full highlight, but I would need to come in a minimum of two times. I pushed back on this and ultimately decided to leave instead of spending double for a very basic service. I called the main company line to hopefully get the issue resolved and instead was told I would need to book two appointments- one for a consultation and then MAYBE they would be able to find time this week to reschedule, even after I explained I was only in town for a short amount of time. Both stylists I visited were patronizing and no stylists or salon managers were available or willing to step in and assist or at least better communicate the issues. Unfortunately the stylists I had seen in the past have all moved on to other salons, which now seems telling of the current state of Studio Be. Fortunately, Voodoo salon down the street was empathetic to my situation and one of their lead stylists offered to open up two separate spots for me to get both color and cut services. To save me the time of coming in for both a consultation and appointment they offered to review pictures via text (which I asked if Studio Be would do, but was rudely told that wouldn't work). Like I said, I would avoid this place. There's too many better options in the area with more competent, confident and kind/caring staff. read more

I've been going to voodoo for years now, but decided to check out Studio Be Salon because it was more affordable, and my dad has gone there many times and loved it. I was completely blown away by this experience. Madeline cut my hair and Hayley (I think that's her name I'm terrible with names! She looks like Rose McIver from iZombie... sorry for forgetting, love!... I think it's Hayley) did my shampoo. And let's just start with the shampoo. You've not had a shampoo like this before in your life. The room is dimly lit with gorgeous decorations that compliment the darker tones, the chair is comfortable, there's very calming nature sounds playing at a quiet volume, all sounds nice right? Well that's not all! I was talking with Hayley while she was giving me my shampoo and had to stop talking because of how relaxing it was. She gave me a shampoo but then followed it with a scalp massage. Duuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuude I haven't been that relaxed in literal years. It put me in such a pleasant mood, I was calmed, I was ready for a nap. The cut by Madeline was exquisite. She was super duper friendly, asked me what I wanted and worked with me to come up with a great game plan for the cut, and was totally accommodating to specific desires I had for my cut. Then! To top it all off, Hayley styled my hair but also taught me how to add more volume and curl in a really interesting way. My hair is usually flat as hell and I told them this and that I asked for advice on how to get more volume and curl and Hayley spent about 10 minutes styling my hair and telling me what she was doing while she was doing it so I could learn. The Good: I had to make a last-minute appointment here after my usual salon made a booking mistake and I needed a haircut for an event coming up. I got excellent service from the folks who responded to my request here on Yelp and that's why I decided to come here out of the many options in Boulder. Upon arrival to the salon I liked that the hair wash room was separate, dark and quiet and I can see that it might be nice to relax there for a while and pay extra for the extended scalp massage that they offer. The Bad: It seems there's no free parking, they don't have a parking lot or anything and I think you have to pay for nearby street parking. They are very trained on upselling, and immediately upon check-in I was offered a sheet of optional, pricey add-one such as an extended scalp massage. Strange. I have very easy-to-handle, cooperative, straight hair and I have come to dislike it when hair professions insist on fancy styling after a haircut even after I have made it clear that I do not style my hair at all normally (honesty, it doesn't need it). I do not need to leave the salon looking like I am going on a fancy date to Frasca, I just want a nice haircut that will look the same the next day as when I leave the salon. The Service: My hairstylist was great about service but I was a bit bothered by the fact that the front desk person didn't let me leave, or even pay, without making additional appointments. The fact that it took forever for her to find available time slots compounded my frustration. It seems they are specifically and intensely trained on trying to secure future appointments and it comes off as a bit desperate and corporate, honestly. Overall: I appreciated their accommodating me for a last-minute appointment and I needed the haircut, but the corporate-ness of the booking process and the excessive styling sent me back to my usual Boulder salon. read more
