She is fun, personable and makes conversation easy and smooth. Her balayage expertise is just as amazing as she is at cutting my hair. I hadn't dyed my hair in years but felt that a balayage salon with such strong reviews was virtually risk-free. Not so. My hair went from deep brown to brassy sadness. I should have gone with my gut when I was asked (for the second time) when was the last time my hair was colored...clearly indicative of the "stylist's" concern. She hadn't taken hair porosity into account. Virgin hair can be porous, so the 40 minute timer is certainly not one-size-fits-all. Prior to having the dye applied, I was asked what my goal was...I answered that, beyond the goal photo, I hoped not to be "orange and stripe-y". My nightmare was realized. I am both orange and striped...this is a nightmare riddle sans the punchline. I called to voice my displeasure and was told that perhaps I hadn't clearly communicated my vision but would be receiving a call from my stylist to see if we could rectify the situation. I went back for the "fix" and, after round two, I didn't have the heart to let the technician know that it was clear that the turd could not be polished. I've since engaged another proven colorist to fix my situation and the fact that she guessed which salon had done the damage is pretty telling. Apparently she's busy fixing this joint's mistakes. read more

I have been hesitant to come to a salon after having such a bad experience last year at Roots Salon and Spa where the stylist clearly didn't like me and made it clear she didn't approve of my job and overcharged me after messing up my hair and having to redo it... so when I came in I was a bit nervous but Kirsten was SUPER sweet, and made me feel comfortable. The studio is clean and really beautiful, but not sterile feeling which i appreciate! Kirsten was very fast, skilled, and made me feel safe and well taken care of. She only took about 1.5 hours for a cut and color- and at the bad salon it took over four hours, so I was SUPER happy with that! A week later or so, I've settled into the color and really love it! Already booked again- I'm super relieved to have found a colorist so kind and talented, I would recommend this place any day! read more

I got a cut and balayage here the other day. The cut was excellent and exactly what I wanted. The balayage was different from what I've had previously at other salons, and I didn't love it (more subtle, monotone). I called this morning to see what we could do to make it how I want and Kate, the owner, fit me in and fixed it in the same day! The front desk staff is great and everyone is very sweet. Amy is a sweetie and a very talented hair goddess. I was driving up to their temporary spot but just experienced the new location, which is a warm space that gave me 1970's vibes with the macrame, orange and pink hues, and wood touches everywhere. Much love for the fully reclined lounge seat at the hair-washing station! I don't go for the typical balayage sun-kissed look, but go to touch my roots up, and I'm so happy with the finished product I get from Sweep. My hair reacts very well to the Oway products they use (an organic, eco-friendly line from Italy)--it hasn't been happier since I moved to Denver 3.5 years ago. Amy always layers color treatments with vitamin drops, gloss, and other conditioning, hydrating products that my hair just drinks up. The color she uses matches perfectly to my own so my silver roots are covered nicely but not harshly. I have a few friends who have gotten the more typical balayage sun-kissed look and Kate and Amy from Sweep really do a beautiful job. They specialize in dry cuts, which I never had before going to Sweep. I don't understand the technicalities, but I do know my hair loves the dry cut. I got a healthy trim and shaping in late October and my hair still holds that shape. There's a reason I drive from Denver to Sweep! read more

Never coming here again. The first time I came for a balayage, not only did the stylist miss pieces of my hair, it was extremely brassy and had no dimension--looked more like bad highlights. I complained and she redid the coloring at no charge, but it still looked the same except less brassy. The SECOND time I went in, I got a haircut from another stylist that had great reviews. Worst haircut of my life. I wanted something medium length with layers because I am horrible with styling hair and wanted something super easy. Unfortunately, this is not what I got and I literally wanted to cry every time I woke up in the morning to do my makeup. It looks nothing like the picture (it's not even parted the same way) and is also about 5" shorter than I had asked, waaay too thin at the bottom, and full at the top making it extremely difficult to style which is already hard for me. My hair looks like a helmet after a shower and the worst part is, I paid over $200 for the cut and spent another $400 on extensions to get some length back because I hated it so much. What sucks about haircuts is that you pay all this money and you can't get it back. I would honestly go somewhere else. This place is two for two on bad stylists for me. read more

Sweep is a beautiful salon. It's very clean and bright. The employees are pleasant and welcoming. But the real kicker was Ashly- she was my stylist and I absolutely LOVED what she did to my head. I knew I wanted a shaggy cut with low maintenance bangs and she delivered 10 fold! Not only did my hair look great leaving the salon, but she taught me how to achieve the same effortless look at home and I've implemented it on multiple occasions! And when I don't, my cut is still perfect and super flattering! I've gotten tons of compliments since visiting her and I can't wait to do so again. All the way from Denver! I've walked past here and always thought it was a nice looking salon. Turns out it's just as nice inside. The online scheduling was a bit confusing since they offer a zillion different services and add ons so I just picked one for the time slot. Anna was lovely! Chatty and sweet and actually listened to what I wanted with some nice suggestions. Zero up-sell or product push which is always refreshing. Better still... what I scheduled on line was for services over $200. My actual bill came to $180. I appreciate to no end that I was treated for what my hair needed and not superfluous extras and up charges. That's good customer service. And my hair looks wonderful too! I usually visit and book a Bonjour Blondie appointment with Amy Kidd, who is in high demand and usually booked out a month or so. Amy has always done an incredible job on my hair and is literally the sweetest soul ever. Her work is reviewed highly everywhere that I've been online, for a good reason! This time I booked with Kaitlyn Seikunas as I wanted to get in a little bit sooner than what Amy could have done, and I am over the top excited about the results. Kaitlyn was extremely knowledgeable and able to explain how the results I was looking to achieve may not be doable in one sitting, but she would do her best to get as close to platinum/icy that I wanted. I trusted her all the way through and followed her aftercare advice, and I could not be more pleased with these results. This is the best hair cut I have ever had, and the color is a dream come true. She even was careful to make sure that it would look good grown-out, as the nature of Covid-19 is unpredictable and businesses could shut down again. I'm extremely impressed with Kaitlyn and Amy and will be a loyal customer from here on out. I just moved to Boulder from the San Francisco Bay Area. I was dreading trying to find a new salon since I love my old hair stylist who had been doing my hair for over 12 years. I have very long blonde locks and feared the worst... so many horror stories with bleaching. After doing some research I found sweep and feel SO luckily I did! After doing some more digging I found Haley who specializes in blonde and decided to give it a go. Scheduling was very easy and appreciate the text confirmations and reminders since I'm a busy mom. Upon arriving at the salon I was greeted immediately with smiles from the entire staff and offered coffee (oatmilk latte?!). Haley started on time and even though she was working on multiple people at the same time I felt very well cared for. She was sweet, attentive and really knows her stuff. I have been getting foiled for forever which leaves a harsh line... Haley's balayage magic erased that line no problem! She gave me beautiful color and a fantastic trim. I came here about a month and a half ago for balayage and a simple trim. The stylist gave me one of the worst haircuts I've ever had. It's so uneven with longer pieces poking out. And this was a really simple, one length haircut. The color was also subpar. It looked really good for a week or two and then once the toner started to wash out, took on a sort of orange-y hue that is not what I was going for at all. Also the stylist's mask was too big and kept on falling down so I didn't feel super safe, plus she was generally unpleasant. Will not be returning. read more
