She asked what I was looking for and gave me information on their minimum order. I explained what I was hoping to do for a golf outing at the end of the month and when I would need them. I know I was pushing it because I arrived at my decision to do this quite late in the game. AnnMarie responded to my information and told me that the workload was such that they could not accommodate my request. She also told me that she even tried to move their schedule to accommodate me but that wasn't possible. Despite their inability to fill my need, I was completely blown away and thoroughly impressed by what AnnMarie did next. She gave me the name of a competitor in Pasadena that she recommended highly. What I picked up was unfortunately an XL in a different brand - it feels less quality that bella canvas, I'll have to get creative to make it fit how I imagined. I picked up on lunch in a rush and the concert is tomorrow. I'm gonna charge it to the game. A phone call asking for an alternative brand would have been appreciated. We had heard good things about the convenience of print-on-demand, but when the samples arrived we were really disappointed. The colors were off and muted, smaller text and lines came out blurry, and some of the graphics came out misshapen. We decided to try working with a local print shop instead. I called a few of the bigger print shops in downtown LA that I had heard of, but on the phone I got the impression that they prioritized significantly bigger orders. I felt that my small business needs would not be given as much attention. I turned to Yelp to find an even more local business in the Pasadena area. After reading great reviews for EM Print Studio, I gave them a call. Eli picked up right away and took the time to answer all of my questions on the phone. I was able to send him an image of my design right away. Once we agreed to some of the parameters for the project, he scheduled me in on short notice for an in-person consultation. During the consult, Eli brought examples of the options for printing on t-shirts and explained everything to me. As someone who is new to making t-shirts, I found it extremely helpful to be able to see it in-person and also feel the texture of the garments. Eli was generous with his time and it was clear he knew his stuff. I felt confident that my order would be in good hands. He sent over a quote that same day and turned around my order in record time. When I called another business, they told me they wouldn't be able to have it done till around Christmas time. What! Other places told me 1 to 2 weeks. I brought in two pieces for two colors and two lines of embroidery, and they came out professional and nifty! I was delighted to call and find out the items were done the very next day! Picked them up with no problems, and they're looking great. This place also sells DJ equipment which was convenient because I happened to need a microphone cable. After spending almost an hour setting up an order on their website (with an AI assistant constantly trying to push stuff on you), there was no confirmation email. I called the next day to see if the order got through. A sleepy gentlemen answered the phone and mumbled apathetically that he'd check and get back to me. He never did. I left a message the next day, asking for a call back to find out if my order had come through. I got a text on my phone the next day, reading: "Thank you for reaching out to The Best Screen Printing company. Please send us your design, when you need it by, size breakdown and quantity for your order at sales@tbsp.la to get a free quick quote.". So we were back to square one, with 3 days just out the window. I emailed them and explained that I had submitted an order through their website days earlier. They emailed back and said they wouldn't honor that order. They told me if I wanted to pick up any t-shirt by Monday, they'd use a lower-quality (!) t-shirt and charge an additional $20 above the additional rush order fees they had already added. So here it goes again, even better this time. I have been dealing with this company for over 4 years. They were pompous and arrogant the entire time I worked with them. They have no regard for their customers and they're only looking to make money. They have blatantly printed my stuff wrong multiple times, but I have worked with them and been patient with their printer for the sake of my business. I had an order of hoodies printed for some big celebrity clients, and they were the same hoodies I've been printing with them since 2020. I had other hoodies in the order, but this one in particular was the one that got damaged. In this industry men don't respect women at all, and they expect us to just do whatever they say and take whatever they give. The damage hoodies, I'm referring to were printed as a set of five. The print was blatantly wrong and crooked, completely not centered, and he was so rude about it. The ONLY printer in their company that knows how to print is so careless with everyone's order that you literally have to just hope and pray your order is done right. The owners of this company do not care about anything but money and they especially don't care about the employees. That's not an excuse to treat people poorly and take peoples hard earned money. The customer service is horrible, the attention of detail is horrible, these people are just money hungry, arrogant business owners. The people that run this company have no idea how to print anything and all they look for is mass orders of basic printing, so that they can get their money out of people and go onto the next client. They have no structure in their business and they are extremely rude to women. If you are a woman and you go in there, they expect you to be brainless, even when they're wrong about how to run their own machines. This experience with them over the past couple years has been a nightmare ever since they fired the actual people who actually cared about their customers and took the time to make sure the work was done correctly. In the middle of the pandemic, they fired so many hard workers and it was really sad. I am permanently disabled, and the discrimination that I have dealt with in this office has been nothing less than stressful while trying to recover from surgery and run my business. They don't even have an office anymore that clients can come in. I spoke to the sales person and he said that he was at home and that he couldn't tell me who the boss was-- which is a lie. When you go to drop off your orders the shop is dirty, there's paint everywhere, there's no organization. The work environment has not been good for a long time, but due to business needs, I made sacrifices and did whatever I could. I've referred this company to so many people and I regret doing so because they are horrible people.
