The cocktail menu was really creative and all the drinks felt thoughtfully curated. Nothing felt random; every drink had a clear concept and the ingredients actually made sense together. I got the clarified ube cocktail and it was so unique - fun, smooth & amazing flavors. The pad kra pow cocktail was a little spicy for my taste but my husband loved it. The atmosphere was loungey & a great place to sit, chat, and try something different. Definitely the kind of spot that feels like you accidentally unlocked a little secret bar. I'd absolutely come back for more cocktails.

After months of anticipation... I finally made it to Alfie's…read more It was exactly what I was hoping it would be: a slice of culture. Real people. Real life. Real youth. Real energy. Real good vibes. Orlando obviously has no shortage of places to eat, drink, and gather, but Alfie's belongs to that rare category of venues that feel equally at home in a major metropolis. It's the kind of spot that would fit seamlessly into Los Angeles's best neighborhoods: think Gold Line in Highland Park or the Vinyl Room at the Hollywood Palladium. Not because they're carbon copies, but because they share that intangible quality of genuine discovery and cultural curiosity. The crowd ( age range 25 - 35 mostly ) was genuinely engaged with one another. People were actually talking, actually present, not hunched over their phones. That alone felt invigorating. There was an undeniable spark in the room. Alfie's wasn't chasing trends; it was simply allowing them to emerge naturally. What impressed me most was how they brought it all together .. Retro stereo equipment and vinyl players from the 50s mixed with a bar area that's super sleek and modern. Conversations, music, the lounge itself .... all came together in a way that felt alive and IN THE MOMENT. When my LA friends visit, Alfie's is on the list. Go after 9 or 10 PM and plan to stay for at least two hours. That's when you really see the scene develop and come alive. Bring your ID: they card at the door. Even at my age, I still get carded. No complaining about that ! lol

The restaurant is on the smaller side and was packed so be prepared to wait even if you have a reservation. The staff is very attentive though and will check on you while you wait. For my meal, I got the Caesar salad, Ropa, Vieja, and the Maduro bread pudding. The Cuban ceasar was good but I think I would've liked the salad more if I hadn't been thinking of a traditional Caesar salad because the flavor profiles are different. Ropa Vieja was a tad salty but overall absolutely delicious! The Maduro bread pudding was such a fun take on bread pudding and tasted amazing especially with the ice cream on the side. I got the accompanying 3 drink package and with that I chose in Mariposa, espresso, martini, and the piña. Out of that my favorite would be the Mariposa. It's was strong, sweet and delicious. I would definitely go back here!

We looked over the happy hour menu (good all day on Monday nights and Tuesday through Friday 5-7pm). We ask Mel about the "Bartender's Choice" selection under happy hour drinks. She said the bartender will mix a drink of their preference. The customer cannot choose the alcohol or any mixers as the bartender makes the decisions all by him or herself. Mel asked if we had any allergies or any other issues that might affect the drinks the bartender would like to make. We said we did not and we decided to take on this "choice" experience. Serena was the bartender of the evening and she did an amazing job. She mixed up various concoctions for us throughout the night (we ordered a second round after the first one) and we enjoyed every drink she prepared. The presentation of the drinks were also well done. Serena's cocktails consisted of bourbon, rum, and various ingredients which could include bitters, lemon, agave or other cocktail mixers. She was the bartender extraordinaire of the evening. For food, we ordered the half dozen chicken wings (2 orders since they were so good) and the pizza empanadas to start. The two empanadas had mozzarella cheese stuffed inside and were served with a warm marinara. From the main menu, we ordered the Faroe Island Salmon, which was served on a bad of risotto and tomato butter, with capers. The portion of the salmon was somewhat small for the price of $28, but it and the risotto were cooked perfectly. We ended the night with their signature drink, "Death in the Afternoon" which contains absinthe and is one of my favorite drinks here in Orlando. It was another five star experience and my friend found a new restaurant she now loves. All in all, a great night thanks to the attentiveness and easy-going attitude of Mel, our server, and the exceptional cocktails from the bartender, Serena. Thank you both for a job very well done!

It was literally bitter sweet, with the sweetness coming from the fruits, and the bitterness most likely from the liquor. It was still a good and refreshing drink. For the appetizer, I had to try their unique and popular pork belly s'mores. It looked like a dessert, but a sweet and savory dish. The pork belly was braised nicely and tender, with the marshmallow adding the sweetness. The homemade crackers were very nice, and the jalapeno added a nice kick. The main dish was the bourbon chicken. It was nicely tender and had a hint of sweetness from the bourbon. The rice went well with the chicken, and the broccolini was perfectly grilled. For dessert, the bread pudding with ice cream was a perfect end. Moist and delicious. It was getting full, so I was able to save some and enjoy at home too. The service was attentive with my bartender checking up with me occasionally. They were quite busy, but still friendly. The dining area looked dark and a bit more formal than last time I visited. But still social and relaxing. I didn't get to see the outdoor patio, but it looked nice from the inside. I parked at the UCF/Valencia garage, which was 3 dollars per hour. Sadly, they don't validate parking. I am so happy I ate at the Monroe for my last magical dining. It's been a while since I eaten there, but the food and drinks are still great. I must say the food was definitely high in calories, sugar, and fat, but it was well worth it. It's just that good in a very nice environment. Definitely will come again when I need southern comfort food! Overall: A

The server came around and took our orders, promptly brought our water every time our water was low, and checked in on us. I got the Caesar salad, the Mushroom Stroganoff and the bread pudding. All three were delicious. The salad was straightforward and was exactly what I would expect from a Caesar salad, but the stroganoff was the standout. The pasta was perfectly cooked and beautifully presented. The only thing I could say that would make it even better was if it was a little less salty. The mushrooms really carried through, the sauce was creamy, and the micro greens helped brighten up the brown color palate. The desert, I love bread puddings and this had a modern twist. It was served as a square, crispy on the outside, like it was deep fried, covered with cinnamon sugar, but still soft on the inside. It was almost like a bread pudding crossed with a churro, which I loved. Highly recommend, I will also say, I love all their restaurants.

I actually came more for the drinks than the food since I had already eaten, and the drinks were both adorable and delicious! Definitely worth ordering if you stop by. But honestly, the staff are what made my experience so memorable. I was sitting at the bar playing Pokémon GO when one of the staff members noticed and started chatting with me about it. I found out that all of the staff play too, and after we talked for a bit, they surprised me by giving me a Pokémon card to match my drink! It was such a small and thoughtful gesture, but it genuinely made my night. You can tell the staff really know how to connect with their customers and make the experience feel personal. It was a cornucopia of misfit food and drinks. First, the positive... that sea bass skewer is the cat's ass of the menu. And yes, that means a good thing (Ask Jeeves about it). I also enjoyed a few of the cocktails, but some were kinda meh. I applaud them for their unique menu items, but execution wasn't the best. You'd think in a state known for executions, they'd be better. They committed the ultimate sin (even Ozzy made an album about it). They overcooked the waygu skewer by like, a LOT. The Duck Wontons were dry AF... ducks live in the water so how are they dry? Same with the snapper skewer. Such a difference from the amazing Sea Bass.
