I was absolutely devastated when my hairstylist moved states. I tried other hairstylists, and nobody was clicking. I really let myself go and felt terrible. I did some research for a local hairstylist and I came across Carrie and decided to give her a try. It was nice she has online booking... I usually don't book unless there's online booking. Anyways, I sat down and told Carrie I'm feeling ugly. I wanted a very asymmetrical Bob, which nobody seemed to be able to give me and some color underneath. I also have a hair, pulling disorder, called trichotillomania, and don't usually open up about it, but Carrie made me feel as if I could tell her anything. Since my hair had to be bleached, the process took several hours, but we talked the entire time. I feel like I've been friends with Carrie for years. At the end, I seriously teared up. I don't think she knew that because I felt absolutely wonderful by the haircut and the color. Carrie's incredibly humble and to my surprise when she showed me the price, I thought it was going to be a lot more. But given how humble she is, she refuses to charge an insane amount of money as some stylist do. If you love good music like, classic punk rock and Elvis Presley, you'll be in for a treat because Carrie does too. 100% recommend Carrie over and over again. And if Carrie is reading this, you are an amazing soul. read more

I was lucky enough to find Carrie when I moved here ~3 years ago, and I wouldn't think of going anywhere else for my hair. Not only does she do an incredible job every time, whether it's a quick cut or or a full dye with highlights, but she's also a ton of fun to talk to. She makes sure you're on the same page about what you want done, and has always been happy to make any adjustments afterward. Okay, the beer part was only true on Saturday because I brought some, but Carrie is very close to getting a mini-fridge in her private salon space so, yes, there will be beer and sodas for you to glug while she puts the glam on you. It'll be like Bird's Barbershop, except ten times better. Carrie got a new color line, which is better than anything Regis, her previous employer, uses. You don't even have to get up and walk to a sink to get your hair washed; Carrie just moves the chair, and boom, you're there. She can also take care of those eyebrows, ladies, so you won't have to risk sporting the Romanian peasant look. The prices are very fair for what you get. I actually saved money this time around. And you can even make a day of it in this shopping center. You can bum around at Tuesday Morning, get your hair done, go to the salon space next door to Carrie's to get a mani-pedi, and then hit up Twisted Root for a burger and mini golf. See? The five star reviews irk me even four or five weeks after getting two haircuts during the holidays. Yep, I said two haircuts. A couple of guys so: two up, two down. The way it actually happened though was really 1-and-a-half cuts then I was up next after pointing out that my younger son had quickly been fashioned with an undeniable bowl cut. My teenager had fun with that, laughing it up for the next few days. He didn't dare do that about my cut which definitely turned out better but still seemed uneven or... something. Being new in town, I expected to get homesick over some aspects of the move. Wow, talk about missing your old Stylist immediately though. I do agree with the other reviewers about this stylist being very talkative and friendly but that reminds me of my *next-to-last* stylist also at a Sola Salon studio in that distant town: great conversationalist, not so great consistency. Whether it was fatigue or just plain boredom doing simple boy next door haircuts instead of cool colorings I'll never know 'cause I'm just not going to give that chair another whirl. read more
