Sorry I cannot give them a 0! This company is the worst business I have ever dealt with. They started out by going to the wrong address (the new house) so they were more than an hour late. Prior to that I had asked them to site visit my house and to verifiy that they could move everything in one day. They said that they could move a large, expensive piece of furniture (originally cost over $5,000) and then on the day of the move---at 9pm---they announced that they could not move this item! Their movers were very young and very inexperienced. Then they could not move everything on move day so they came back to move a contemporary, curved, frosted glass table (purchased for $1,400) but they broke it because they only wrapped it in one piece of padding! They came and took a supporting piece of the table in March 2019 to have a matching piece fabricated/made. After no response, I called numerous times and they threatened to limit me to a low fee for replacing the table. They have never brought back the needed rebuilt pieces of the table or replaced the table. And I have been leaving a message to get a return call since April and they never return the call. So my dining room table has been non-useable for well over a year! There are a lot of moving companies out there. Please do not use this one. You will not be happy! And when they mess up, they get defensive and duck and dodge you when you point out that they messed up and try to get the problem fixed. read more

DO NOT HIRE!! PLEASE READ! I was moving from Virginia to North Carolina, about a 5hr drive away. This isn't my first move so I did my homework and found this company. I felt good because they were 2nd on Angie's List and they guaranteed same day delivery. The price was reasonable as well. They were scheduled to come on a Monday between 9am-10am. I headed down to check into my hotel that I booked for 2 days, while my family was at my place waiting on them. While driving, Strongmove called to ask if they could come later around 3, a little odd, but I agreed because it would still be same day. My family called the company to ask what time they would be there and they were told between 5pm-6pm! So fast forward to 5pm and my family calls again to see what time they were arriving. It took them 30 min to call back and Strongmove told my family that they were FINISHING up a job in DC and they would come after which would have been around 8pm! How did my move go from being potentially the 1st move of the day to the forgotten one at the end of the night when the guys would be tired and then what happened to the SAME DAY I was promised!? So I called and they had no explanation and then delayed my move for 2 days because of weather. Ok, I'm understanding of weather to keep everyone safe, however I only booked my hotel for 2 days and I was using those days to set up! But had they done it originally on the same day I was promised a 2 day delay in my delivery would not have been needed. Not only did I have to extend my stay at the hotel but my family had to take additional days off from work to accomodate them after we originally accommodated them the first day by being flexible with the time. They promised they would be at my former house again between 9am-9:30am and would do an excellent job. Fast forward to the now 2 day delayed moving day. 9am -9:30am...no show...10am..still not there. They showed up at 2:30pm!!! They rushed the job, underestimated the size of the truck (after fully explaining what I was taking), they couldn't fit all of my stuff and even had to leave behind their packing materials. They finished around 7pm and showed up here at 11:45pm. They rushed to unpack my stuff and finished at 3am. Fast forward to today and after attempting to settle in to my new place...I'm finding more and more things broken. They cracked my antique chest that has been in my family for over 40 yrs. Broke my 3 out of my 5 lamps. Snapped the top of my jewelry box off that I've had for over 20yrs. And when they were slicing the plastic off of my BRAND NEW couches they sliced the bottom and snagged the material on top that I can't stop staring at! I'm finding more and more things damaged that I had to write this review. They broke every guarantee they told me. They made me their last priority when I'm pretty sure a state to state move would be a pretty high dollar client vs an instate move. They didn't show up on time, didn't show up on the day they said they would, didn't do a same day delivery, and definitely did not do an excellent job. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! I was really pleased with my experience with Strongmove from beginning to end. Nick setup my appointment for a 2 bedroom move and helped me make updates along the way (additional stop, requesting an additional guy the day of the move). They email all the estimate details for the move so you have the hourly rates plus fees written down; they also text reminders before your move confirming the date which was very helpful. There's a $100 initial deposit and that's deducted at the end from your total bill. The day of my move the team actually arrived earlier than expected so we were able to get going early. The guys assigned to my move were terrific - they were all super efficient and friendly. I was really impressed with how quickly everything went. I've moved several times and hired different movers each time because I hadn't found a moving team that I liked to work with but I will definitely be calling Strongmove again for my next move! read more

If you're looking for a professional service look elsewhere. First off, the movers arrived 2 hours late. They didn't seem to know how to properly wrap furniture with protective blankets. Some of the furniture pieces they put tape directly on the wood to hold the drawers shut. The movers dropped a couple of tables because they were being careless. I had a couple of cheap lamps and both arrived with broken shades. The two bedroom nightstands arrived with noticeable scratches and divets. The worst part was that they wrapped some large photo frames together rather than separately which cause them to inevitably arrive with broken glass. After talking with the manager, he promised to send replacement glass for the frames. Two weeks have passed, and I still haven't had a response. At this point I'm not holding my breath. I don't want to say they weren't hard workers or that they weren't doing their job, because they were. The service seems to be more cut rate than a professional one. read more

RESPONSE to Owner Review: 1/22/2019 Never was it a 2 bedroom quote. Documentation exists and email trail exists this was always a 3 bedroom move. Suggest you check your records and Yelp quotes. Hope this was a miscommunication. We took care of the damages with professional contractors. Regarding the damages, we emailed you we wanted to take photos of the furniture damages but you stated that was not an option. We have multiple pieces that was scratched, dinged, missing paint etc from the move. It was odd since we plastic wrapped everything and yet the damage still occurred. The cost was more like $140 over the estimate - not to mention your last minute changes to the overhead "truck fee," which increased our costs. Your 26ft truck was barely sufficient; as we still had items that the movers could not fit, even after I mentioned it more than once they should be in the truck from the beginning of the move. I am glad you responded and clarified your views; so I could accurately state the facts for you to review on your side. Like I said, overall the move was not bad; could have been handled better, and if you had given a proper estimate and not adjusted pricing last minute. We could have made a better decision on our choice of movers. read more

It was our first move in US, so we were full of anxiety. But the two movers, Ben and Tito, blew it away! They were very friendly and professionally swift and efficient. Both loading and unloading finished much faster than I expected. Our move didn't finish within two hours, but they charged overtime fee by 15-minute time step, not hourly, so what I had to pay was just for the time they actually worked. These guys were seriously impressive. I had to move on a Friday from VA to DC. They had a move in the morning, but gave me a 12-2 arrival for my move. They communicated well the day of and did a great job loading. They clearly knew what they were doing, took care of my stuff, and were very organized (more so than me). They provided blankets to wrap my TV and computer monitors and even helped disassemble a couple of items that I couldn't do on my own. We did end up having to negotiate DC rush hour, but they did a great job getting to the new location and were very good at unloading and taking items to their designated location, or asking where they should go if not designated. When all was said and done, they even gave me a credit for the extra time due to the rush hour. Hands down, a great company and I would definitely recommend for anyone moving. The only reason this review isn't 5 stars is just because my movers were late for their arrival time, but I honestly think that is more on whoever was their first or second job for not being entirely truthful in their estimate given before the movers arrived on how much stuff they had and/or how many flights of stairs they would be carrying furniture. The company and movers were wonderful - they were able to make up time by quickly and efficiently moving my stuff and handling it with care. They were very apologetic about being late and were so kind. We were moving to our renovated house and needed careful and fast guys to help us. This moving guys did a great job, they had all equipments and the truck they had was spacious and there were still a room even though we had a lot of stuff to move. I was concerned about our freshly painted walls not to leave scratches while bringing our furniture up. So i was happy when they finished without any incidents. Moved at the end of last week using Strongmove, and they were fantastic! prompt, courteous, and worked hard to ensure that we were satisfied with our move. Working with Nick was great to set up the move, we had a bit of a complicated situation where we needed to store things overnight, and he was more than accommodating - turned what could a stressful situation into a walk in the park. Communication was timely and there were no hidden fees - the quote was right on the money the ONLY dilemma we had was that they accidentally left two small items on their truck, communicating with them over the weekend was a bit tricky, but Nick got to the bottom of it right away on Monday, found the items, and are having them delivered to our house this week Not that I expect to move anytime soon, but will keep them in mind down the road and would highly recommend to those in the DMV moving :-) read more

We had a local move a few weeks ago and Strong Move were the best to work with. Ben and his team of guys arrived on time and were very effective and efficient in their job. These guys were awesome! Ben and another guy who's name I unfortunately cannot remember showed up about 20 mins late (though they communicated well ahead of time that they would be). They did an awesome job with getting everything packed up and loaded and managed to get my move done within the time constraints we had to deal with. There was no damage to any of my items, and they were substantially (like over %50) cheaper than the majority of the competition in the area. If I could give this a zero stars I would. Terrible experience all around the company was late after the called and asked if they could come earlier. The movers were slow and didn't speak English. The one guy the send who kind of knows English still couldn't understand a lot. They moved and packed things I asked not to be gone which wasted time. By the end I have ruined carpets due to a box breaking and missing screws for my two nightstands. When I called nick he was not helpful and just blamed us. He kept telling me things I was already doing, ultimately there was a communication barrier and I babysat for $600. Yay! read more

At the beginning, these guys were great. Very professional and punctual. After they left, however, I noticed tears in a very expensive canvas painting they moved - that were "fixed" by putting tape on the back of the painting. I also found pieces of furniture on the floor of my new bedroom. I tried contacting them again to talk about this but got no response. Pretty disappointed that not only were some of my expensive items ruined, but they tried to hide it from me and then didn't respond when I tried to reach out. If you don't have expensive items to move/don't care about your stuff, then these guys are great. However, if you care about your items making it in good condition, I would be weary. Pros: The movers at strongmove were nice and it was easy to book. Cons: The movers were late after insisting I book them earlier than I requested. The movers did not move at a decent pace and were careless with my items. Many items were broken upon arrival, even when the boxes were marked fragile. To help with time, I had to start moving things in my own car and unwrap items for them at the second location. When I went to pay, they gave me a higher price than what I owed, and we had to go over the math multiple times before they agreed to charge me the correct amount. At the end, a few of my items were left in the truck and took over 24 hours to get back. I noticed the first item was missing within 15 minutes of their departure but they would not turn around because they had another move to get to. When I called 15 minutes after their departure, they did not let me know about the other missing items still in the truck even though I was the only move they had done that day. The guy at the office also did not mention the additional items either when I called to arrange drop-off. I had to not only inquire about them once I realized they were also missing but I had to make all contact for the return. They did not reach out about the items or the return of the items. read more
