First I got a pizza and bread sticks from them to go. The pizza was okay but the bread sticks were near pathetic. I Gave them another chance by stopping in to eat for lunch. I had their tortellini saltimboca. It was pretty good. The portion was a bit too big. Perhaps they can drop the cost a little on it while reducing its size. My partner got a salad from--it was about the same quality as their bread sticks. Overall, I'm still willing to try them again. read more

I went to the contact page on their website to let them know i was disappointed the last several times I've been there, however the email got kicked back. Here is what I sent that says it all; I've been going to the restaurant for years and the last three times I've been there the quality has gone down. Tonight I got the pasta gamberi and the pasta was so over cooked and mushy, the broccoli was bitter. The batter on the shrimp was pasty and mushy as well. The lasagna was brown and hard. The salad and buffalo chicken were good. If this happened once it would probably be okay but now that it's been the last three times it seems to be a pattern. We have been going to, or ordering from, Stromboli's for years. I always thought there food was good. Lately, and I mean for awhile, the quality, to me, has been off. Just today, 11/12/14, we had spagetti and meatballs. Not to toot my own horn, but I think I make better. There was no flavor and barely any sauce. My wife had a sandwich, which she said was good. Now, I know this not the place, but I always get fries. It seems they have chaned the brand and they are terrible. Not to mention they weren't that good before. I have been getting food from your restaurant for the past few years and I have never had a problem. Having said that, tonight was a terrible experience, and experience that will make me no longer order from you. I ordered at 6:22pm and was told 20 minutes for pickup. I arrived and paid for my food about 18 minutes later. I proceeded to watch orders be made and served for 30 minutes at your restaurant. I was told a few minutes after I paid, and I waited another 20 minutes before I asked how much longer. I then watched the guy making pizza physically make my pizza and put in the pizza oven 40 minutes after I ordered, all the while my wings and soup were in a bag waiting, and customers that were eating in the restaurant ordered and received their pizza and pasta before my pizza was made or cooked. I walked out of the restaurant at 7:11pm and all i got was sorry for your wait. I personally find that unacceptable. I don't want to hear you are guys were slammed when i saw cal-zones, pizzas, pasta and other items ordered, prepared, cooked and served to customers after i walked in to pay for my pickup order. Why did I even call ahead, I feel like I would have been served faster if I walked in like the others. I enjoy your food, but I will no longer order food from your establishment. There was no effort or urgency when my pizza was not made. When it was served to me it was under cooked and all i got was an I am sorry. Honesty goes a long way with me, if it was admitted that you forgot to make my pizza I would have been more understanding, but I was told a few more minutes twice during my 30 minutes waiting after i arrived. read more

We have been getting their food for almost 20 years (about 5-6 times per year), hands down our favorite Italian takeout restaurant (even though we live in another town)! Food is awesome and very reasonably priced! Kids menu is also very good, plus kids love to seat by the oven and watch the fire (while playing with pizza doe, a nice touch). I can't comment about their delivery service because we ether take out or dine in and never used it, but I have zero complaints over all those years! I would have given 4.5 stars, but they do not have that option and Strombolys is closer to a 5 than a 4. This is our go-to place when all the other restaurants have ridiculous wait! read more

Some dishes are definitely better than others. The Chicken Currosso is one of the best Italian meals I've had anywhere. This is my go to dish whenever getting take out from here. My boyfriend enjoys the chicken parm, but I'm personally not a fan of the red sauce here. They always give us extra bread. The bread is nice and light, not dense and heavy. The variety of the pasta dishes here and the fact you can choose different varieties of pasta for each dish is the reason I come here. Whether you feel like red sauce, garlic sauce, Alfredo, etc. you'll find something you like here. The Chicken Marsala is perfect and my go-to pick here. The Caesar salad is fresh without being drenched in dressing. Their calzones aren't huge but they're delicious and reasonably priced. If you get pizza here ask for them to cook it a little longer than usual to get the perfect crisp from their legit Brick Oven. You also get home made bread made out of their pizza dough (think Bertucci's) with pasta dishes. Definitely would recommend. read more

I eat here every week for lunch and usually get something from the specials or an individual pizza. Do yourself a favor and eat the pizza at the restaurant. As many have commented it tends to get soggy after sitting for a while. Fresh out of the oven is excellent. Rolls are always offered and the chicken specials for lunch are very good. I got the worst case of heartburn i have ever had before the pasta came back up. The only bright side was I did feel much better in about an hour after the pasta came back up. Do yourself a favor, stay out of this place and go north 2 lights to Occonnor hardware plaza,Devitos has an excellant steak and cheese calzone or if you want pasta go across the street to the convient plaza at stephanies. Brought my 81 year old mother here to have lunch on the way back from shopping. 1'st time here and last. Our drinks had large ANTS in them...couldn't even touch the food after that. We were charged full price and didn't eat or drink anything. I told the woman behind the counter in a hushed tone so as not to upset other customers...her response was certainly not what I expected. She was very rude....went on to say, "we don't have ants". I showed them to her right after she poured the drinks from the fountain and handed them to us. My mother & I were treated so poorly that we were still upset by the time we got home. My uncle used to own a restaurant and I worked there on college breaks...we never treated customers this way. Hands down, worst Italian food I've ever eaten. I'd take jar sauce over their food anyday. I ordered a basic chicken parm and veal parm. There was so much linguini that it was stuck together in clumps. There was hardly any sauce to spare on the meals. The chicken was fine. 2 pieces. Absolutly terribly customer service. Asked multiple times upon ordering of how long delivery time would be, they said multiple times it would be 30 min. After an hour and 40 min our pizza finally showed up. I called to speak to them about delivery time and manager yelled at me when he first got on the phone. Told me that if i was going to call and complain that he didnt want my business. Strombolis's is our family's favorite. The calzones are excellent and a great value. My favorite pizza is the Italian Mariner. It is awesome. Pesto, sliced tomatoes, shrimp and cheese. Despite the lousy reviews, we decided to give it a try. Damn should have listened. Im not sure what went wrong from the person who took my order to the cook. I asked for a pizza well done with half pepperoni & sausage & other half just onions. It was typed correctly but the onions were all over the pizza and pretty much the Dough was raw. The pizza is the best! They aren't big on fancy though. Everything is served on paper plates and in paper cups. The sandwiches may be a little to authentic Italian for me though. There are a bunch of guys in the kitchen all the time but I think their english is not so good, they prefer you talk to the person at the register. read more

Very disappointing! Not sure what happened to this place but the flavor of the food, when there was any flavor, has diminished greatly. I had visitor's over and I bragged about the food so we ordered from there today. We spent $70 and everything but the chicken parm was bland and lousy. I ordered food Strombolis last night. I had not ordered from them for many months because the last time I ate there I got violently sick with food poisoning type symptoms. I wanted to give them another try because they are close to my house and have a good selection of food on the menu. We ordered a large quantitiy of food from aps to dessert. I ordered the tortellini saltimboca and got very ill within a couple of hours of eating the food. Because this was the second time that I got violently sick after eating there I decided to call the manager and let them know. He was rude, talked over me and protested that it could not have been the food. Although he told me that I was right (because I am the customer) he continued to tell me reasons why I was so very wrong. He tried to tell me that maybe I was allergic to chicken or cream. This is clearly not the case as I drink cream in my coffee every day and eat chicken twice a week! He also said that food poisoning symptoms do not start for 6 to 10 hours and this is very untrue depending on the type of bacteria symptoms can begin within minutes. I cannot attribute this to anything other than the food I ate from Strombolis. This call was just to make him aware of the situation but his attitude and the fact that this place has made me sick twice has made it so I will NEVER order from them again. read more

I work in Billerica and I go to Stromboli's with co-workers about twice a week. The food is excellent and the service is very fast. It is one the few places I know that has a break oven with firewood. I'm not Italian, but their Pizza is one of the best I've had (the Buffalo Chicken Pizza is my favorite). Pasta is made in the store--I've seen them make fresh Pasta few times when I went there off-peak hours. The whole kitchen are is visible from the dining area. They also have low-carb meals on the menu daily. Fresh hot rolls with Butter and Oil are served with every meal. Lunch with a drink is usually less than $10. we've sampled most of the restaurants within five miles over the past few years, and Stromboli's is one of the few we keep coming back to. I have only been here twice but both times the food was excellent and reasonably priced. The pasta is homemade and tastes so much better than chains. The brickoven pizza is very good. Crispy with sauce and enough cheese. It is hard to find pizza places that actually put enough sauce on the pizza. From the outside you'd think this place was just another sub shop..My husband and I thought this, but once inside it is so much better. The portions are large and the prices good. We brought home half our food but we are small eaters. After eating the homemade bread and soup we had no room for a meal. read more

The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is that they forgot to include any utensils -- and they were delivering to a hotel! Luckily, I was able to scrounge some from the front desk. The delivery was faster than predicted -- and it's still snowing , roads bad-- and the chicken curroso is delicious, and the garden salad is lovely and fresh.
