RI Food Fight Wing review: Honey garlic wings. More honey than garlic. Needs more garlic. But good overall. Everyone was super friendly here. The bartender, our waitress and other patrons! They were talkative and interested in being kind to our little guy (2 years old.) Plenty of parking, high tops, low tops and bar seats. Felt quaint and made me want to come back when live music is playing. Good options on the menu. We went with a app sampler duo: mozarella wedges and potato skins. Can't go wrong. A great little place for a delicious meal and a drink. We had family members playing acoustic guitar and singing there. Our first time there and we weren't disappointed. Delicious stuffed portobello mushroom with a balsamic reduction and some crab Rangoons. Also buffalo chicken tenders and warm pretzel bites with a couple of beers. Our first visit here and we loved it! The service by Stephanie was VG even though they were very busy, and the food was excellent. I had the baked stuffed scrod which was delicious and cooked just right. The zucchini ragu that came with it was VG. Wife had chicken francaise which also was VG. So the food and service was VG, but the band, Northeast Groove, topped the night off. They were terrific, and sounded great, doing songs we all know. A rarity is that they all sing at some point, but the lead singer was the best. We got to talk with her before they went on. Nice lady. Would highly recommend. Last night we went to Strings Bar & Grill for the first time. We've driven by countless times and it's always been packed - now we know why! We love live music of all kinds, so thought let's go grab some food and see who's playing. Let's start with the food - I can promise you it's far better than you could imagine! The chef at Strings has more than 30 years of experience as an Executive Chef and that comes through in every bite. From appetizers to dessert, everything was absolutely delicious! This morning we were still talking about how impressed we were with not just the quality of the food but the menu offerings. This is not your standard pub menu! Last night Donna and Laurie were our servers. They were attentive, professional and fun. We felt at home there and had everything we needed to enjoy our meal and the entertainment. When we met Stephanie, the owner, it became clear that she sets the tone for the rest of the team. She is proud of the business that she has built and with good reason, it's a great place! She welcomed us, asked for feedback and could not have been more gracious. The band, Just Wingin' It, was fantastic. They played mostly classic rock and had a lots of fun. People got up and danced; Stephanie even sang a few songs with them during their final set! I'll also mention the entire place was spotless - every area well maintained, very clean and well cared for. Even if we had not met Stephanie in person, it would have been clear that the owner of Strings cares deeply about the business and providing the best experience to their customers. Great Quaint Spot New spot for us. The owner is wonderful, she always makes up feel so welcome. An eclectic spot that features live music a few nights a week. They feature some really talented groups. The place is equipped with large TV's to enjoy a game, they have pretty good food for a bar. Everything I've tried is well made, it's not greasy crap. The service is good and the drinks are made right, no watered down or short pours here and the prices are very reasonable. This spot also I has a very good amount of bar seats so we aren't usually struggling to get a seat. Try this spot out if you want to check some live music or watch a game. What a fun and cozy place this is. We went on a Saturday night to have dinner and listen to music and really had such a lovely time. We ordered some appetizers and meals that were not fancy but were good and we thoroughly enjoyed them. The empanadas and the rangoons were especially good. The drinks were good and the service was excellent. The club was very crowded on a Saturday night with people of the elderly persuasion or maybe just "older" as I am. It was nice to be in a club with people who were not in their twenties or thirties but more fifties, sixties and more. So it was very comfortable and people were singing along to some songs that they were familiar with or dancing and it was nice to be included in that environment. The band was excellent and we thoroughly enjoyed that music. I have to state that as busy as that club was, the service by Seamus was really very good. As soon as we needed another drink he was there and he cleared plates as soon as they were empty. I was very impressed because there was standing room only and yet we had excellent service. I am looking forward to going back because I have heard that there are several good bands there and that pretty much any night of the week you can go and enjoy some good music read more

I was on my way food shopping and passed by this place and decided to stop in for lunch. The service wasn't bad. The food was small portions, and it's pretty average. I had the chicken Marsala, unfortunately my chicken was raw on the inside so I sent it back. Once it was fully cooked, it wasn't bad! The appetizers were the best part, the calamari is what we had. Not somewhere I'd go again or Recommend, but not terrible. read more

Food is great, bands are good, the bartender with the attitude is the problem. I understand a lot of businesses are short staffed but no need to be rude/ignore your customers. Sure, she was multitasking and I get it but there are plenty of other local venues nearby such as Copperfields and Escada offering the same , so we left and went to spend our time and money where we're weren't ignored. read more

If I could give this place more than 5 stars, I would. Since my initial review, I have become somewhat of a regular. The place never disappoints. Amazing food, welcoming environment, a dedication to local, live music and an all-around chill, neighborhood/family atmosphere. My favorite meal is the Shrimp Mozambique dinner (they have an app version that's also incredible). I've got lots of Portuguese friends, some who own restaurants, but this is hard to top. I highly recommend Strings, whether you're looking for a drink, a meal, live entertainment or a place to watch the game. I'll see you there!!! read more

I was here a little over a year ago when this place first opened but there was no official menu at the time. I decided to come back since it's been established. I can remember being serenaded by sounds of the Eagles' Hotel California to Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville and Matchbox Twenty's 3 AM. Today's band is playing a talented mix of jazz and classic hits such as the Clover's 'Love Potion Number 9' and Chris Stapleton's 'Tennessee Whiskey'. We started off with a Caesar salad which came out fresh, crisp, and cold with shaved Parmesan. We got a Texas BBQ Burger and a Smothered Burger. The fries were hot and crispy. The burgers was average size with adequate toppings and cooked as requested. The service was attentive and we got everything we asked for. The live entertainment was stellar and kept the place bumping. The band even brought up special guests to perform with them. Awesome local spot that you could definitely come to with a group or by yourself and feel welcome. I'll be back to fill my soul with good food and the beats of talented local musicians! read more

This is a fun place that looks much better on the inside than out so check them out! I've gone here a couple times alone without any issues. Seems a bit of an older crowd, and I fit right in that demo so works for me. I haven't been there late so could be different with bands on the weekend. Bartenders have been very kind and helpful. Went for the first time open mic on Wednesday and my friend and I were very welcomed. The owner was bartending and it was surprisingly busy for a wed night but she was on top of it and made sure everyone was happy. The DJ and owner told my friend to please come back and perform again. What a great place for fresh and tasty food, great smiles and fantastic tunes. Went to Strings last night to see some friends vans playing and was very surprised by the diverse menu, drinks and great service from the one bartender. Can't say enough about how wonderful the food was from the home made chips, the unbelievable pizza, Italian dishes and crab Rangoon Even though we are from the East bay if RHODE Island we will definitely come back and tell friends. This place is amazing!!! Food is incredible and service was stellar. Tayler was great, extremely attentive. She recommended the Asian chili wings and they were to die for!!
