After my new racket arrived from Tennis Warehouse I was disappointed in the strings I got with the racket. After hitting with the new racket I quickly wanted to have new strings put into my Pure Drive 2021 As soon as possible. I searched the internet and found strings attached. The next morning I went to their store in Arlington Heights and picked a new string and in a few hours, probably because they were not busy or did not have rackets to string at that time, they were able to string my racket in a few hours so that I could have it for playing tennis later that day. Strings (Luxilon Element) and the stringing fee came out to $36. Was very happy with their prices and how fast they strung my racket. read more

Destiny. I desperately needed a new racket, but all my fellow tennis players told me there weren't any tennis shops in the neighborhood. I was about to purchase a racket from tenniswarehouse.com when I looked up while walking home from a job interview and there was Strings Attached. *Cue some sort of miracle music*. The owners were incredibly helpful and lent me two rackets for $5 each to demo for 3 days. I played the very next day, brought them both back and exchanged them for two other rackets at no extra cost. In the end, I purchased the Wilson Blade 98S Spin Effect for a little more than $200, with the $10 demo charge applied to the price of the racket. They recommended strings and got my racket ready to go in just a day. I absolutely love my racket. I waited a bit to write this review as I wasn't sure how the somewhat unconventional racquet the owner picked out for me would work out - but a couple of months later, the racquet is paying off huge dividends and my game is better than ever! This is an awesome shop. You'll find most everything you need here that is racquet sport related, but the jewel in the crown is the owner who has a really keen eye and thorough understanding of playing styles and player needs. He also puts customer service above everything else - he turned my brand new racquet around in 2 hours - and while he could have gotten me to buy a much more expensive racquet, he went with one that worked best for me. This is a wonderful shop. I live on the south side with no racquet shop nearby, so I biked 10 miles or so up to this store. Upon entering the shop I happened to mention how far I had traveled to get to the store and the owner bumped me up to the top of the queue so that I could go grab coffee and pick up my re-strung racquet a mere 30 minutes later! This saved me the long return trip to the store and was a truly kind gesture. I also got a complimentary shock-absorber for my racquet. Highly recommend this store! Great guys read more

Dedicated tennis pro shops outside your posh country club setting are indeed a rare breed. Sure there's Dick's or Sports Authority, but these guys are better suited to tell you where to find to find rackets in the store as opposed to what racket actually suits your game. Strings Attached has a decent selection of most major racket brand names, although racket organization was a touch haphazard. Racket stringing service is offered as well. The apparel selection is light but decently priced. Your Advantage is still my de facto pro shop of choice, but count Strings Attached as another option to serve your tennis/racket sport needs. read more

Extremely large variety and knowledgeable staff. Super friendly with great prices, even beat the online stores!! Come check out this locally owned shop, ask for Imran (he'll hook you up!) I was there for about an hour chatting with the shop owner learning about which racket was right for me. They taught me about which strings were right and what grip was best. The personal touch helping me learn what was right for ME and not just what was a "top seller" is what will make me shop there time and time again. read more

I bought my first tennis racket from the store yesterday. I brought it home and noticed there was a chip in the racket. When I returned it the next day, the owner was very apologetic. He went out of his way to help me find another racket. He also was able to string the racket within a half hour. On top of that he offered me $10 for the inconvenience which I thought was not necessary. The customer service at the store was beyond exceptional. Btw, he will match any of the online pricing for any racket.. He really does run a great store with top-notch customer service. read more

Revision - the owner called and said this was an "honest mistake" and went out of the way to fix it - lent me a couple of rackets to play while he fixed the mistake below and gave a reasonable explanation to why the mistake happened. Changed it to a new string for no cost (but did not refund the original purchase). Also, is a good connoisseur of rackets and has deep knowledge of what is a good fit for your style - you need to pick his brain a little for this stuff to come out. Overall, upping my review to 4 stars to reflect passion to "correct an honest mistake" and a job well done on second attempt. So your worst nightmare when you go to a specialized shop came true here. Read - being overcharged for things in the garb of superior knowledge. I was made to pay for an expensive string (35 bucks compared to a 20 dollar restring at sports authority) because it was supposed to be better and more "durable". But when I came home and observed the fine print on the string carefully, I realized that they actually put a cheap $4 synthetic string on my racket) instead of the one I paid for! Such a low move. I paid for Gamma polyester mono-filament (more expensive) but got a cheap synthetic string put on my racket. I was able to catch it only because I took a picture of the string when I purchased. If I didn't, it would have been "my word, your word" nonsense. Be very careful - your ignorance about tennis will be held against you here and they may charge you more for things that cost less knowing that you won't probably find out. read more

Really really nice people own and run this shop. What I would image are a husband and wife team. They both know their stuff and are eager to help. Happen to to be one of the few people that play squash (or know what it is)? Or an early-adopter of 'paddle'? Or the standard tennis or racquetball player? This store is stocked with equipment for all these standard and random racquet sports. They have balls, racquets, shoes, bags, clothes, and do re-stringing, although as a female I still have yet to actually break the strings on my squash racket (I feel like I'm not a REAL squash player until that happens!). Came in here to pick out a squash racquet since all of the chain sport stores were really disappointing in chicago for squash gear. The guy (assuming owner) was really chatty and friendly. Gave me a few racquets to try out and I settled on one in my price range. Gave me a a little bit of a deal and offered to give me some free court time at a local gym. I wasn't from the area, so I respectfully declined (I also didn't have appropriate gear to wear). I would recommend coming here if you are in need of some squash help or even re-stringing! read more

Shoes, strings, balls, rackets, clothing, and grip tape. I've gotten it all at this place. I have found Strings Attached to be about as good as it gets when it comes to stores that specialize in tennis and other racket sports. I keep coming back to Strings Attached because of the superior service. The owner has been giving me advice for a few years now. I have been able to experiment with different rackets and string combinations. The prices are very reasonable. One of my rackets broke prematurely but because I bought it at Strings Attached, I was able to bring it back and it ended up getting replaced by the manufacturer. Just try getting that done with one of the online stores! It won't happen. I very much believe in supporting my local businesses and Strings Attached has supported my tennis needs in return. read more
