Next, staff member Sean C. was amazing, and that's why it's crucial to hire people who love whatever you're selling, and in this case, the Chicago Cubs merchandise. There are other stores along Addison, but you could feel the difference with their staff. For them, it was just a job; they acted like they had zero interest in the Cubs or their customers. So, my take is this: with rainbow Pride merch, are stores selling it because they believe in it, or are they just selling it for profit and not caring one way or another? This also applies to Armed Forces merch, Independence Day merch, and other specific merch like the Ryan Sandberg "Ryno 23" hat I searched for online and found at Wrigleyville Sports, thanks to Sean C. He even told me a few stories about Ryan Sandberg (RIP) since he was his favorite Cubs player too. My eyes watered a bit, but he was easy to lip-read and helped me fill out the email newsletter. Honestly, I wouldn't waste my time at the other locations; I'd visit Wrigleyville Sports first, then the other stores.

I paid for the jersey & customization there ($150+!) and drove it into the city. At the Lawrence warehouse, they told me it would take 40 minutes to complete. Not able to wait, I asked what time they opened the next day and said I'd return to pick it up then. 21 hours later, drove back into the city to find that my custom order had not been started. I asked to speak to a manager but one wasn't there. They apologized (for which I'm giving them a star) and said it would take 30 minutes. When I requested a discount for my inconvenience, they offered 15% off my NEXT purchase. LoL! As if there will ever be a next purchase. Opted for a refund. Very disappointed…read more Went to look for some post Christmas presents for two nephews. The place is 90% plus clothing - I was hoping they would have other Cub and baseball items like their competitor on Clark and Addison. But given I was in a hurry and parking is limited, I just decided to shop there. So the Cubs barely made the playoffs (if you want to call a one game series that) and it's a couple days after Christmas. Yet still just a limited number of items on sale at reduced prices - and it looked like stuff that wasn't moving anyway. But I guess what bothered me most was the absence of service. There were two other people in the store when I walked in, they left shortly afterward. There were some caps and tops the were out of reach and would have been nice to see if they were the right size. But not once was I approached to see if I needed any assistance by either of the employees in the store at the time. I grabbed two full priced pullovers and left. They'll be appreciated by my nephews, but that was the last time I'll shop at Clark Street Sports - I'll be certain to park near and go to Sports World next time.
