Stringer's is a great gas station. Don't come for the views, the chit-chat, the potholes or because gas station coffee, fumes and signs gives you the fuzzies. You come to Stringer's, because of the name, the guarantee they are open and super gas prices. That said, it's a nifty little shop: 4 pumps, a little bar and sort of an antiquated system of paying for gas with a card, by first handing card, then signing a receipt! It's kind of old-Western COOL! It's a narrow shop; but pleasant and always open. Stringer's Exxon - out of plus and supreme - Gas Stations Near Me - Woodbridge, Virginia

This was such a stressful gas experience that I almost drove away without realizing I hadn't screwed my cap back on my tank. Shoutout to the fellow traveler who caught my attention before driving off. The location is right off the interstate and next to a massively busy intersection. Be prepared to have some extreme patience for this spot. There isn't much room to turn or drive around in and there was a line for every pump. There are potholes all over. People were honking at each other. It was my most stressful fill up I've had in a long time (Saying "ever" feels extreme, but maybe it was the "most stressful ever"). Since it is in such a busy spot cars have to wait a long time to leave so you have the people filling up, the people who just filled up, and the people waiting to fill up creating chaos. The one great thing about this gas station is it was .50 cheaper than the Shell down the road. And I think .20 cheaper than the one on the other side of the road. I wish I had just kept driving and paid the .20 per gallon, but once I pulled in I was stuck there. read more

Giving 1 star because can't give any less. Rude, I mean RUDE!!!!! woman who's working there started yelling at me and my family out of nowhere when we asked if we can use the restroom. Then she starts yelling get off my property when we were just getting gas acting like she owns the place. Never seen anything like that. read more

My family used to live in Occoquan, so we started going to Stringers' mechanics. They turned out to be super honest and always told us what we NEEDED to fix and what we could WAIT to fix, the pros and cons of a dealer part vs. a cheaper part., and sometimes when it would be better to go to a different type of mechanic. They saved us money and kept our cars running great. I started telling all my friends to go to them, and my friends loved them too. (Especially the women who other mechanics would try to rip off.) We now live in Montclair but my my family still goes up to Stringers for diagnosis and repairs. Everyone there is nice to you if you are nice to them, but they have no patience with ignorant rude people, which is fine with me. They can also be blunt. Mike once told me a newer car I bought was not as good as the old car that I had just sold. It made me sad, but I like honest. Now we also have them do inspections on cars before we buy. read more

I stopped here by chance because I was stuck in traffic and needed an inspection sticker. I also needed a fog light replaced. I came in last minute and they got me in and out with everything I needed with absolutely no hassle. in addition to not having a lengthy wait the service was phenomenal from the cashier attendant who kept me company and was quite hilarious to the mechanic who did the work in a timely fashion with great customer service. I don't even live in this city but I will be coming here for all my future car needs that they're able to handle. what a great place 10/10 read more

Staff was rude. Inspections were closed during posted hours with no reason. Returned during posted hours to find that if you aren't there 30 minutes before the end of posted hours they won't serve you. Asked if the inspector was still there and might be able to squeeze me in anyway, and was told by the clerk that the inspector wasn't there. Returned today for the inspection only to be treated rudely and the inspector mentioned that he saw me yesterday, which means the staff lied to my face the day before. I would not suggest any auto repair place that would lie to their customers. read more

I've taken two cars there for emissions and inspections, and they have been great with them. I don't get the ripped off vibe that I've gotten with other places where everything is broken. They are up front and limited in what they can do, just ask in advance. For issues and repairs beyond an inspection- that I cannot comment about. read more

I've been taking my two cars and my wife's car to Stringers for many (10+) years to get emissions and VA inspections done. Usually things are great - I'm in and out - no complaints but not expecting much. Today I went to get emissions done and the skinny tat'd soyboy that does the work as normal comes out and starts barking about me not having my engine turned off while in line (I was 2nd in line) - says I should've seen the two handwritten signs. I tell him I pulled up not 30-45 seconds ago. He says "if you don't like it, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE". I was shocked but I told him "FUCK YOU then" and I went somewhere else. The mechanics at this location are the epitome of the lazy, unprofessional mechanic. The joke of a work ethic and customer service exhibited here is why I will not even stop at this location for gas or a soda much less anything to do with my car. read more

I took my Mercedes to them for an A/C repair. I think that the technician should have explained to me, "we don't have the right diagnostic equipment for these cars". Instead, they replaced a temperature sensor that may not have even been bad, just because they "guessed" that this part might be the culprit. It wasn't. After a $650 repair (other parts, including a fan clutch, which they informed me were absolutely bad, were also replaced), the A/C still didn't work. The owner tried to pacify me by giving me a $36 refund. They should have really referred me elsewhere, from the get-go, to a mechanic in the area equipped to properly troubleshoot/diagnose A/C problems on a German car. read more

I didn't see the sign to turn off the car when I pulled up to the line, he came up and said I can refuse service to u I said I'm sorry ?? I thought I didn't hear him ?? Only giving 1 star because there is NO lower rating. I stopped there today to get a simple inspection and emissions check. There was no line, nobody in the stall and big huge sign "We Are Waiting For You". To get into the station I had to drive around a truck that was unloading box and I pulled forward over the GREEN LINE to give the truck some extra room. After waiting for about 10 minutes, with no other cars waiting for inspection, I walked into the counter and asked if there was any wait. The guy at the counter seemed nice told me to wait at last stall in my car and someone would be there soon. After maybe 5 minutes the door goes up and mechanic comes out. I tell him what I want and he immediately throws attitude at me about "I am gonna take that sticker and if I find something you don't get it back". Even though I thought it was pretty rude I let it go, but then I got a lecture for driving over the green line. The guy was the most rude and ignorant person I have met in long time. I told him I was done and got I my car to leave. He got in my face and wouldn't let me turn to exit to the left. After being asked to back away from my car several times he was getting more rude I put my car in reverse and had to force him to get away so I could have enough room to turn and exit the station. The mechanic was about 5'9", beard, glasses and reddish brown hair. He was rude, threatening and the boss should get rid of this guy for the safety of the customers and the good of the business.... read more

I was passing through the town and had almost no breaks left on my car. I started at shell and was told it would be around 289.00 for break repair. I called around other places and got the same result. I was traveling through and couldn't afford to spend that at all.Exxon listened to my needs and worked me in so I could afford it and have a working car.They didn't sell me what I couldn't buy! They were reasonable and honest and repaired my car. My breaks work great! If your passing through or a local looking for a reasonable, honest job go there! read more

they are great. they are honest. mike, tabatha and the other guy is great. however, beware of "danny" the manager! he is nuts! he is scary, totally devoid of any manners, whatsoever. if they don't "size" him up, Stringer will lose business. not only will i never go there again, i will NOT recommend this great service place to my friends. bad customer service means lost business!!!!! read more
