Mechanics are honest and good (they know their stuff) and are reasonable in price. Diesel fuel and gasoline are reasonably priced.

This is for the gas station which is separate from Telegraph Auto Care.according to the mechanic there anyway. This is a hostile environment frequented by violent and aggressive lower class people riled up by an rude proprietor. The area around the pumps is very small and confined, preventing smooth traffic flow and requiring patience to move through the place. The operator is rude, aggressive and impatient, causing patrons to react to his hostile energy. I waited for 7 minutes to just pull through and finally was able pull alongside the pump lane but not out. Since my vehicle had been at the garage there several days I needed to clean the windshield so I pulled over as far as possible and got out to clean the windshield. The convenience store operator came out almost immediately screaming for me to move, even though there was no place I could go. His actions increased stress of those waiting, resulting in an assault ob me. The Garage mechanic told me this happens every day there. This is not a good business and the owner? Horrible. And this is a comment on the gas. I just got gas tonight from number two pump on my way to Frederick for an overnight sleep study. But that's a distance from Alexandria so I stopped to get gas first since I was at about a half a tank and you never know what will happen on i-95. To make a long story short, the gas pump never stopped. Gas can gushing out of my fuel tank down the car across my pants and over my shoes. First time this has ever happened in the years I've been pumping gas for my cars. So out of courtesy I went in to tell the attendant. I thought the conversation would go something like, hey just so you know your pump doesn't automatically stop I got gas all over my shoes and my pants. And the attendant would say to me, oh I'm so sorry. Thank you for letting me know. I'll go put a sign on the machine. But that's not how it went. I go in I say the first part and the attendant basically says well you obviously did something wrong. (II don't know how you can do something wrong when it's an automatic shut off). Then she tells me that I purposely overflowed my tank. (Again I don't even how to do that with the current technology). Then she tells me that I had to have overflowed it because I have a compact car and I don't know how much gas my car takes. This is a car that I've had since 2012 and have always pumped my own gas. I just am so flabbergasted by what happened. I wasn't going to ask for a refund although it would have been nice to take my name and number and say someone was going to call me even if they didn't. At the very least say thank you for telling me. So the station may be nice unless you have to work with the attendant. read more

Gas is cheaper here than any of the other stations in the area. The repair service is run by Randy, and is top notch, but he is very busy and you need to communicate your timelines and work out a scheudle. read more

Randy and Joe did excellent work on my 1998 Honda Civic for the last 12 years. The labor rate is very competitive and their markup on parts is reasonable. The Honda needed the basics over the years: starter, alternator, engine mounts, ignition coils, cv joints, radiator, and hoses. Every time I felt I was charged a reasonable price for the work completed. Randy and his shop are busy -great sign- so you need to be proactive in communicating with the station. The place looks like hell. I can only imagine what the restrooms look like...and it's giving me the chills! However, looks can be deceiving. Amerigo does one thing without equal in Alexandria. It has the best gas prices, by at least a couple of cents per gallon. It's convenient and cheap, and it's hard to pass up when you need some gas. read more

Place is called Amerigo now. Trust me, I've had a lot of experience with this place over the years. Shop isn't ran very well, repairs are costly, very timely and I've caught them pulling a fast one on me more times then I can count. Randy is not the type of mechanic that is easy to communicate with and history has showed(for me and many other that I know) he simply doesn't stand behind his work. Since I don't look for maintenance and repair services at any gas station (for over 20 years relied on VA Tire) what I do look for is convenience of access, cleanliness, security and most of all good quality gas - not brand name necessarily, but how it affects and helps my car run... needless to say price. For me there appears to be a price battle between Amerigo here, and Sunoco in Central Springfield. Amerigo's deficit lies in its inconvenience and traffic jams at the pump. For gas and it's pricing it's very good, but it's lacking in the aforementioned criteria. read more

I've been taking my cars here for 5 years, but today, for the first time, I was completely ripped off. I asked about it, citing that I was looking at prices online to see what to expect while I was waiting. The service should not have been more than $250 tops, but I was charged $370 for back brake pads, wiper blades and a state inspection. By the time my parts finally showed up, the car was finished in 20 min and I was charged $150 for labor. If mechanics suddenly make $450/hr, I got the wrong degree. Never again...you just lost my business and my referrals. Update: I just called Meineke and asked for a quote - parts and labor $105. Never...ever...again! read more

DO NOT GET WORK DONE ON YOUR CAR THERE. THEY DO NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR WORK! Spent $700 on a new radiator there. Been leaking ever since. Took in back for help after spending $100 on leaking hoses in Boston. They refused to work on it under warranty. Bad customer service read more

Cheap gas. That's about it. Went to get my car inspected and they told me my brand new car had lights that were aftermarket.

Just had a fantastic experience with this shop and Randy. I had taken my Honda for an oil change at a different shop and was made aware of a problem. The estimate was about $1,000.00 for the repair from the oil change shop. The tech at the oil change shop said some things that made me question the need for the total repair. I took the car to Randy based on a recommendation. Randy confirmed the problem and took the time to show me the work that needed to be done. Randy fixed only what actually needed to be done and his repair was just over $200.00. Not only did I save a good amount of money, but the time that Randy spent explaining the repair to me gave me a trusting feeling. Thanks Randy. I'll keep going back to Amerigo. read more

My family has been taking their vehicles to Randy at the Amerigo on both Telegraph Rd and Franconia Rd for more than a decade. We have always had excellent service. I am shocked at the review that gave them only one star because we have always found them to be honest, fair and efficient. They are not a quickie service place because their interest is in doing things correctly. It may not always be the cheapest place to have the work done but we know the work will be done correctly. We strongly disagree with the other reviewer who claims that Randy is not easy to communicate with or that he does not stand behind his work. That's just plain horse hockey. If anything, Randy is VERY direct and does not sugar coat what needs to be done. It may not be what you want to hear, but he is open and honest about what needs to be done and in the manner in which it needs to be done. If one follows his suggestions, he has always stood behind his work. We highly recommend this Amerigo and the other one on Telegraph Road. There are so many mechanics that are just out to make a buck. Randy and his folks at the Amerigos work very hard to make sure their work is accurate and thorough. We don't trust our cars to ANYONE else. read more

This is my second visit for a safety inspection, the first was last summer. They are now known as Telegraph BP Servicecenter on the inspection locator website. I pulled up to the inspection waiting area, and was third in line waiting behind the car being checked. It was about a 10-15 minute wait per car, which was not bad at all. When it was my turn, they asked which inspections I needed, which I wasn't sure about the emissions, being fairly new to the area still. They could tell I needed the safety, but could not check on the emissions. Unfortunately, I failed the safety inspection due to low tire tread, but will return with new tires next week and have it rechecked. I will update after (hopefully) passing. read more

Amed, at Telegraph BP Auto Care, has been my auto mechanic for "eons". He took care of my E350 for most of the fifteen years that I owned it. Now he is keeping my Explorer happy. I recently had a couple episodes where my car battery completely drained for no apparent reason. Initial testing, in my driveway, indicated I might have had an aging battery or possible starter motor problems. This morning I gave the car to Amed, totally expecting to pay for a new battery, a new starter, labor, etc. A couple hours later he called and said the car was ready and I had needed only a new battery. The starter was fine. Yeah! Being a "mature" Af-Am female, I have sometimes felt that mechanics at other facilities were trying to take advantage of me (and my wallet). I have always been treated with courtesy and respect at this shop. In this instance, I could have paid for a starter and would have been non-the-wiser, but as usual, Amed and his crew were honest and above-board and saved me a lot of $$. I HIGHLY recommend Amed at Telegraph BP Auto Care, great service, very reasonable prices, courtesy and honesty. Attributes that are, unfortunately, rather difficult to find in today's market. These folks manage to be both dishonest and discoureous. I spoke with a gentleman named Robert, who made it VERY clear that neither he nor anyone else there cared that they had wasted my money on repairs. I wouldn't hire these guys to replace my gas cap. The good news? Huntington Care Care is right around the corner, and they are fantastic. Robert, you cost yourself a customer today. I was really disappointed with my experience at Amerigo. They failed my car in it's safety inspection for what they said was a headlight issue. The headlight works and has never had a problem working. They said it wasn't mounted correctly and so they couldn't pass it. The repairs were fairly costly and they weren't certain when they could have have the part to fix it. Hmmm. I removed their little failed sticker, drove down the road to another auto shop and they pass the car without blinking. They found no issue with the headlight. I've had the car for two years since seeing them and the headlight still works, has never had a problem, and has never been an issue on any subsequent safety inspection with any other shop. read more
