Mechanics are honest and good (they know their stuff) and are reasonable in price. Diesel fuel and gasoline are reasonably priced.

Cheap gas. That's about it. Went to get my car inspected and they told me my brand new car had lights that were aftermarket.

Randy and his shop are busy -great sign- so you need to be proactive in communicating with the station.

Ugh. I hate to leave bad reviews but I had a bad experience the last time I got my car inspected…read morehere. For the record, I have taken my car here to be inspected for the past several years and every year it has failed inspection. But this is the first year I've really questioned what the owner (manager?) told me about why it failed inspection. This year, I was told it failed because the suspension and the brake wiring was bad. But, the owner told me not to worry about it because it's really easy for them to get the parts to fix. This automatically got me suspicious because I own a Suzuki. For those of you who don't have Suzukis, Suzuki no longer sells in the United States. This means that it's REALLY HARD to find parts. I know this because I had a seat belt problem a couple months ago and trying to find a replacement part was close to impossible. Several dealerships in Maryland and Pennsylvania echoed that parts are really hard to find and wished me luck. As a result, I took the car to another mechanic (who does not do inspections) but who has always been above board and honest with me. Turns out that my tie rods were loose (my suspension was fine). That saved me several hundred dollars there. Additionally, the mechanic found that three of the brake lights were blow out. That was a $30 fix, rather than the $100-$200 dollar estimate I was given to replace the wiring. Giving them the benefit of doubt, I would like to think that someone did not do their due diligence, rather than was dishonest. Regardless, does not reflect well on them, and I am unlikely to take my car back.

While I have noticed a lack of attention to detail here and there - like forgetting to recalibrate my tire pressure indicator after a tire rotation (a quick fix I figured out how to do on my own) - it was always small things I could overlook. HOWEVER, my most recent experience means they lost a loyal customer. I went in to have them look at my rear brake light that was out. I did my due diligence and knew it could be a brake switch issue, electrical issue, or just that the whole tail light assembly needed to be replaced (it's LED and gone are the days you can buy a cheap bulb and call it good). They assessed the issue quickly and sent me the quote, confirming the whole assembly needed to be replaced....for over $800!?! I looked closer and they were quoting me $544 for just the rear light assembly that I knew was $125-$180 if I just bought it myself. When I asked about this massive mark up they said it was the cheapest one they found as they had called the manufacturer directly and been quoted an even higher price. This is what the $64 sourcing fee they charge is for?! While I respect that businesses need to mark up a part for the sake of profit, this was beyond outrageous. As a woman, I am well aware of the potential to be taken advantage of in these situations and they definitely tried. I picked up my car and will never return to this shop for any service as I do not feel they can be trusted. I was able to source the part for $130 and, with a little help from YouTube and a screw driver, successfully replaced it myself within 30 minutes. My advice would be to find another place for your vehicle maintenance needs or take a few minutes and do your homework before signing anything they quote you. It could save you hundreds of dollars!
