This is a Fender authorized service center. I found them on the Fender website. SIS replaced an intermittent pickup switch on my Fender Duo Sonic. My guitar is now better than before. These guys are friendly and professional! Cool workshop, good vibes all around. I would definitely recommend! read more

I recently bought a Fender precision bass and wanted to get pick-up and bridge covers installed. In order to keep the warranty, I had to get them installed at an authorized Fender servicer. There aren't too many of them in my area, and the one closer to me was charging way too much. This place is a bit out of my way but the price I was quoted was much better than the other place, so I decided to check it out. I made the appointment with Jerry, who seems to be the main person here. Since I live far away, he was able to accommodate me by getting it done in less than an hour. It was a fairly simple job of just drilling some holes on the bass and installing the covers, but I appreciated his willingness to work with my schedule. The work was clean and didn't see any dings or scratches on my new bass. I've been to some places in the past where I found all kinds of scratches afterward. If I'm in the area again, I am going to bring some of my other guitars and basses for a basic set-up. Please note that this place is by appointment only, and you can't wait inside the shop while they work. The door is kept locked (for a good reason). You need to knock on the door to enter. read more

I've been going to Jerry's for years ! Great staff , very friendly and receptive , they take good care of you. He's upfront and listens to what you're wanting to do for your instrument . A true master of his craft. His venue is legit and welcoming, you enter into a ping pong arcade room with a nice sofa. I recently brought in a guitar of mine to get a vibrola installed on it along with some fret work and a new nut , I told him how I wanted it to play and he delivered big time . It stays in tune which is big if you know about lyre maestro vibrolas . I was charge a fair price for the amount of work that was done . I could go on , but from Jerry, his services have always outweighed his fees. You can check out pricing on website. All the guitar's he's worked on for me sound better once it leaves his shop . There's a reason why he has the reputation he does in the music industry read more

I've taken a couple guitars and my JC-120 here. Jerry, the owner is a really cool guy, very nice and helpful. The shop is a joy to be in, organized, and welcoming. Excellent guitar setups and Jerry takes the time to find out what you want and playing style.

I am very impressed with Jerry's responsiveness, professionalism, efficiency and fair price. He took care of my bass repair in no time, he brought it back to life. Super happy about the experience, glad I found Jerry. I will be doing future business with S.I.S. and I highly recommend them to everyone. Many thanks! read more

I found Stringed Instrument Services on Yelp after I made the decision to start playing guitar again-- I needed to get my 20 year old Fender Telecaster repaired, tuned up, set up, and just overhauled in terms of playability in addition to making sure the electronics were working properly. It had been sitting in storage and just needed some very serious TLC. Jerry was super personable, friendly, and answered all of my questions and did an amazing job. He was a little backed up with other jobs and it took about two weeks, but the vibe of this shop and Jerry's approach was something I respected a lot. About six months later, I asked Jerry if he could help me build my pedalboard, route power to all of the pedals, and do some custom layout work. They don't normally do stuff with pedalboards, but I was so impressed with his work on my guitar that I begged if he would be able to get my pedalboard built. He agreed and again it took about 2 weeks, but it came out amazing. Jerry is the dude to take your guitar or amp to. He's a small shop and may take a bit longer but the quality is worth it and Jerry's very knowledgeable and a good dude. Go SIS! read more

The quality of workmanship is top notch and consistent. Having taken more than 20 guitars here for work over the years, Jerry has never let me down. His fret work, set ups, electrical wiring are all excellent. S.I.S. is the total package! read more

I've been taking my guitars and amps here for many years. Great service/work at a reasonable cost.

Jerry is an absolute pro - everything I bring him (amps, guitars) comes back much better than before. Highly recommend.

This review is long overdue... Took my new Ibanez prestige guitar in for a set up, and another ESP guitar in for an assessment. Jerry was candid and honest, he assured me that the work done by another shop was superb and there's no reason to do more work on it. The set up also came out great, the guitar is so easy to play after Jerry's magic! Will be taking all my guitars / amps to Jerry for service going forward, high recommended!!! read more

Once again, Jerry did setups on two more of my guitars (he's worked on four total now), a Frankenstein SG Standard, and a new ES-355. No one comes close to doing such an amazing job on setups and I've tried just about anyone you've heard of in LA. Jerry is the best. I think it's because he takes the time to do fret work if necessary. Whatever he does, it great. Always seems to get the work done well ahead of schedule too. Just go here. read more

Went to the shop to restring my electric guitar. I was trying to learn tuning but snapped the high E string in the process. The rest of people working there were on a tradeshow so only one man was in the shop. Being inside the shop, it seems to be not an ordinary run on the mill shop but a crafters' work area. It's like they treat their work as a craft not a job. The man who was there is friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. Dropped my guitar off for restringing and basic setup. There are parking spots. Newbie friendly place. I will definitely be returning to have them do a basic setup and possibly restring my backup guitar. read more

My husband took our son's guitar here to fix buzzing on multiple strings. Jerry promptly adjusted the truss rod as much as it could be adjusted, but it turns out the neck was defectively straight. Luckily, the guitar was still under the manufacturer's warranty and Jerry was well versed at working with the manufacturer to get the replacement parts. I struggled to find the receipt for my guitar, but Jerry reminded me that the store I purchased the guitar from can retrieve the receipt and e-mail it to me. In short, Jerry handled all the paperwork and effort involved in submitting a warranty claim with the manufacturer, and fixed my son's guitar with no effort on my part. The guitar sounds great now! Thanks SIS! read more

TL;DR: damaged guitar, refused refund, had to issue chargeback. 11/2/2019: I just got my first guitar back from Stringed Instrument Services and I won't be bringing any more back. I dropped off a 25+ year old Fender Telecaster for a fret level and new nut as the old nut was way too low and the frets were buzzy. This was over two weeks ago and it just came back with black tool marks up and down the maple fretboard, damage to the neck pickup cover, and the nut is almost as low as the one it was supposed to replace. It is glaringly obvious that whoever rushed the fret leveling wasn't paying attention and let the sanding beam sand right over the top corner of my Tele's neck pickup cover. This quality of work is completely untenable and I called SIS immediately upon returning home to request a refund and was told by an employee over the phone that "they don't do refunds" but I could bring the guitar back to "make it right". I was also told I could discuss it with Jerry, the owner, when the shop opens the following business day. 11/5/2019: I just finished speaking with the owner, Jerry Bizon, over the phone who refused to refund my money and refused to look at the photos of the damage I had posted. Instead, he insisted that I bring the guitar in and leave it with him again for two more weeks so that he could "fix it". I told Jerry I didn't feel comfortable leaving my guitar with him again and he told me that was the only option. Additionally, Jerry told me that he was the one who personally worked on my Telecaster which I was shocked to hear. In 15+ years of playing guitar I have never seen a luthier perform such negligent work and then so adamantly refuse to be held accountable for it. I had to call my bank to issue a chargeback for the $200+ Jerry charged me for damaging my favorite guitar. Myself, my guitar playing friends(including the coworker who recommended Jerry to me initially), and my students will avoid Jerry and Stringed Instrument Services in perpetuity. read more

Discovered this shop through a friend a couple years back when I was in need of a pickup swap and new strings. Best place to get your gear serviced. Jerry is a down to earth and downright amazing individual. Got my guitar back within a week at a very reasonable price and just recently dropped off my Randall rh250 amp to be serviced. This shop is my go to from now on and I highly recommend it for all your gear needs. Professional and friendly atmosphere with great customer service and amazing quality of work. read more

Great little shop with great energy. Took my Orange amp in for an electronics cleaning and I'm very pleased with the results.

Just got back from having my LP Classic Player fixed up by Jerry Bizon. As usual, great work, guitar plays like butter, setup is spot on and just a really great guy to work with. Just go see Jerry! Thanks buddy! Scumback One read more

I took my brand new Charvel USA to three different guitar tech's to figure out why the guitar neck buzzes so much. Within 10 seconds Jerry knew the neck was defective. No one else even mentioned that the truss rod might not be working properly. He took care of the Fender Warranty and got me a new neck and set up the guitar PERFECTLY. It even sounds better now that the strings resonate correctly. I wish I came here sooner. An entire year wasted trying to figure out the neck issues. I have also taken a few Peavey amps here and the service was always fast and professional. read more

Jerry at SIS does great work. I brought him a partscaster strat that I put together after I found out the trem routing was way too small for the trem block. He routed the cavity and repainted it to match the rest of the body. Really beautiful work, and such a great person to deal with. He also replaced my crappy trem claw with a nice one for just a couple of bucks and even threw in a pickguard screw that I lost somehow. I'll definitely be back for guitar/amp repair that is above my skill level. Also check out their Luxxtone line of guitars. Super cool stuff. read more

I am a return customer. This time, Jerry replaced the existing humbucker pickups on my Schecter guitar with a Seymour Duncan Hotrodded set and installed a push/pull pot giving the split coil option. So now I have the full range of beautiful sounds. Jerry was great. Prior to purchasing the pickups, I called him and got his thoughts on the right fit for my style of playing. When I met with him to drop off the guitar and to pick it up, Jerry patiently answered all of my questions. It was a great experience and I love the sounds I get out of my guitar now. Stringed Instruments Services is my go-to place for all of my guitar needs. I highly recommend them. read more

I have a jazz bass that never played right higher up the neck. Had it "set up" by two other shops, same issue. I took it to Stringed Instrument Services for a last attempt before I gave up and sold it (I had put a bunch of money into upgrading parts, so that's not what I wanted to do). Jerry diagnosed the issue in just a few seconds. After the proper fretwork and a great set up, the bass now plays amazing!! Thank you, Jerry!! Your knowledge, workmanship and customer service are second to none! read more

Jerry was amazing and excellent! My Martin's input jack was getting loose, after trying to fix it myself for several weeks, finally gave in, and within minutes, Jerry had it fixed at a very nominal price. They have been in this location for nine years, I wish I knew about them back then! I would recommend Stringed Instrument Service to anyone! read more

I've been taking my guitars and amps here for years and have never been disappointed. The guys here have done instrument work for some very high profile names, yet still make you feel like an important customer and are passionate about getting the job done right. I frequently recommend these guys to anyone needing a luthier no matter where they live in the LA area. Don't take your repair to Guitar Center, either you'll end up taking your instrument to S.I.S., or they'll send it to S.I.S. (It's true ask them.) I'm already planning my next modification and there's only one place I'll take it to. read more

Brought my amp there to fix my reverb which sporadically worked (as I told them). Before I brought it in I accidentally reversed the two cables.. They charged me over $30 to reverse the cables! When he showed me it worked, he got lucky and it worked (because as I had told them, it sometimes worked). I brought it home, it worked for a day and then the same problem. The guy looked at me like I was an idiot for having reversed the cables. No respect. read more

Great customer service. Brought my son's violin in to restring (fell out). Since the old string was still good, they didn't charge us.

I have been taking my guitars to SIS for 8 or more years. I have a bunch of vintage guitars that I only trust Jerry with. I could easily fix most of the problems my self cause I have a back ground in guitar repair. However Jerry is way more experienced than I am and he is the only guy I trust with Vintage collection. I took my Ibanez Jazz Box guitar in for a warranty repair. Jerry Bizon, the owner did the work on my guitar personally. It was a fantastic experience. I was treated very well, and made to feel at home from the moment I walked in. Jerry took time to speak with me, he even played some cool guitar stuff for me and showed me great stuff. I can't wait for another reason to go and see him again. Seriously, this is a great place and we who live in the area are lucky to have the best guitar place around right here in Arcadia. I entered the store very unsure because I've never been there before, and my guitar is my baby, so I get nervous putting her into new hands. My usual guy is in the hospital and my baby needed some help bad, so I was desperate. But when I came in, I was showered with figurative daisies of love and kindness and my guitar sang a symphony of joyful comfort. I was greeted by a man whose armpits smelled of blessed children and Jesus (metaphorical, not the way he would have ACTUALLY smelled which would be dirty). I was blinded with psychedelic wonderment when he told me about his great deals, which were completed with stunning punctuality. I was crying silent tears of joy by the end of my visit, and my baby whispered sweet nothings to me as we parted, assuring me that she was in good, capable hands, and that she must enjoy her time there as wholly as possible. All in all, this place is pretty polka-dotted cotton candy, which is good. Really good. The only down side? Lack of Shaq posters. read more
