The person who helped me was very helpful and explained to me and my daughter the instructions to clean the violin. She helped us take measurements to decide if purchasing or renting the violin was best for us. My daughter is tall, so it's more convenient and cheaper to buy than rent for her since she fits the full size. She also let me know we can always come back or call if I have any questions, or need help tuning it. Walked in with my daughter this weekend to pick up an instrument to rent for her elementary school. My daughter was having trouble picking out an instrument and the employees there were sooo accommodating and understanding. They brought me and my daughter into a room and explained and demonstrated the violin, viola, and cello for her. They went over the pros and cons of the instruments and let her examine them herself. I was extremely happy with the attention they provided her. Prices on rental is the cheapest compared with Johnny's Music and Bertrand's. The only difference is that they want you to pay for 3 months rent upfront so the initial down payment will me higher, but keep in mind the other places aren't factoring their 3 months in so their initial or the door price for rental will be lower. Great shopping here. On our search for a piano, this was the only place where we felt comfortable, unlike other piano places which were pushy and rushing us to buy something. Harold never rushed us nor tried to persuade us into buying something other than what we were looking at. We finally decided to go with one of Harold's used Kawai CX-21D pianos, the dealing process was fair. We felt we got a fair price on the piano and all the extras Harold provides including tuning, delivery, touch-up and upgraded accessories already included in the price. The piano sounds great in our home. Harold himself is a lover of music (he can play the piano for you), he has great knowledge of his products, and does not generally put down any other products. He has a huge selection of musical instruments and even teaches music also and carries a fairly large selection of gospel, classical and pop songbooks. The only gripe I had, was the delivery of the piano came on a pick-up truck. That one gripe did not prevent 5 stars to Harold and his store. They are by more comfortable and agreeable to work with than the other places we visited. (Piano warehouse, Colton Piano, Piano Empire.) I just had a really bad experience with Lee's Music today. I had been renting a cello from this place for about a year and it is time to buy a new full-size one for my child. The lady in-charge there tried to persuade me to buy a used cello for about the same price as a new one somewhere else. I would've considered that if that used cello was decent enough as I could get some credits from the rent paid previously. However, that cello seemed to be defective as it did not sound right. The lady told me that was the only used cello for sale and they didn't even have any brand new ones to sell. All of the above would not be a problem for me as I don't expect every store to be fully stocked all the time; however, the lady could have displayed better attitude and customer service. During the short time when we were at the store trying to figure out our options and try to play with the cello, she was very impatient with us and at some point she even said, "This is the price and that's the only one we have, take it or leave it. I would not care either way.". That was when I said, "Please return my deposit, and I'll go shop somewhere else.". If they think they're the only music store that sells music instruments around town, they are wrong. Please do not try to save money and buy used instruments from this place. I read the two reviews that were here before me, and I thought, man this place must be great. And it was! Exactly as the two awesome people below me said, Lee's Music had a large selection of stringed instruments and pianos, as well as tons of sheet music, parts, and more rare parts (I imagine Lee's Music does repairs because he goes to work on each individual instrument, adjusting them and tuning them just right). The prices were great! I was thinking the days of getting a cheap acoustic guitar were over, but I got a great guitar for a good price and was able to trade a nice carrying bag that I wouldn't have used much for strings and picks. The owner was very friendly and super helpful, and as the review below me said, not pushy. Just a wonderful shop. If the shop seems to have/might have what you are looking for, go there! I found this music center on Yelp while I looked for a piano for my 8-year-old daughter. Harold (owner) is very nice and friendly. He explained about the piano that I did not have any experience. The info. he gave me helped me to decide which piano I wanted to rent or buy. The great thing is you can rent a piano with $40 - $60 per month if you are not sure buying it for first few months. After you decide to buy it, you will get the 50% credit back from your rental fees. That's a great deal. So, I decided to rent it first. They delieved the piano in next day on time. Stopped in to Lee's Music today to rent a viola for my 4th grade son and the service was top notch! Harold, the owner, provided a brand new instrument and explained the basics of size, care, and tuning. The staff was very helpful and efficient with setting up the rental agreement (3 months to start) and I couldn't be happier with the viola that I took home. Like the other review said, it's literally a house and it's a relatively small place compared to the big guns, but they've got a lot of good stuff for a good price. If one wants to visit a friendly, well supplied music store, Lee's Music is the place. The owner Dr. Lee is a great musician himself, most knowledgeable and accommodating. The store has a large supply of string instruments; piano and other instruments are on display as well. I bought several items there and was very pleased with the result. This place has instruments for rent and also provide service to fix them if there should be any problem . When I was there, I also saw voice lessons and cello lessons took place. A customer was asking if Lee's music provides service for re-hairing the bow, the answer was yes. Very honest and honoring what they told you. We were trying to fix an alto saxophone and decided not to due to the quality itself but we took their saxophone for the time being. We were told not to worry about any charge even if we decided not fix ours, and sure enough, upon returning it, we were not charged a penny even if we wanted to pay. Mr. Lee never pushed and just told you his opinion/analysis and left everything for you to decide although he might sounded a bit harsh. I came across this store on a random visit looking for some new strings for my guitar. I was suprised to see the diversity of instruments they carried for a reasonable price. If your looking for instruments or parts this is most likely the place to find them at. (They carry all the major brands plus the lesser known ones as well). I find that alot of the "mainstream" stores like Guitar Center rip you off anyways. Plus the service is better cuz the owner will know you by face. Oh, and I just started playing the guitar so I'll probably start taking some lessons that they offer there. I give this place five stars for the quality of products, price, and service. read more

Great small music store. Came here when I was in high school to buy clarinet reeds. Now, my younger sister needs a viola for her high school and the two music stores I first thought of was Johnson Thompson Music Store and Lee's Music Store. Between the two, I chose Lee's Music Store because of the 3 month contract for rental, cheaper price, and great quality of instruments. Ms Naomi is my daughters music teacher. When my daughter came to her from other horrible piano teacher she couldn't test read any notes because that teacher never taught Her to read notes. Within a few months she was reading notes and or the first time told me she actually likes piano. My other daughter has me crystal. She is very nice as well. Highly recommend this place. Ridiculous service started working on my instrument without mentioning the price. I had to bring it up and saw the outdated materials he was trying to place on my instrument. He replaced my string and said that he wasn't going to add the service charge to the price. let's be honest anyone who plays an string instrument can replace a string themselves. in the end he tried to overcharge me by bringing out a catalog and circling the retail value of the item. the retail value was thirty dollars more than the price he mentioned before. beware when buying items from the store because most of the items do not have a price labeled and some have a hand-written rip off prices! read more

We were looking to rent a piano for our kids who will be starting piano lessons soon. The lease-to-buy option is great because we aren't sure if they will stay interested. Harold was knowledgeable and definitely not pushy. The store had a decent selection of good used Yamahas and Kawais. We also want to try out his piano teachers, as he has several studio rooms in the back where lessons are given. The piano was delivered the same afternoon, and those guys were professional and courteous, too.
