Once again, the for the Joe Ferrante Music Academy and the show and the performers were phenomenal

My daughter has been going here since she was 5, so for about 3 years. I didn't notice until I'd moved, and had to enrolled her in another school that I've found out she haven't learned much. For three years we had over 5 different teachers that I can remember. Very inconsistent if you ask me. I sat in on her first class with her new school and I feel very cheated and disappointed. I felt like I've wasted so much money here for over years after comparing the two music academy. The owner is very sweet and nice, but I'm not sure about the instructors. The instructors waste a lot of time before the lesson, and before you even know it, times up. They start late, and finish early. Overall, I'm not happy with this school. read more

I was brought in by the Valentine special. Husband had cut his finger in a saw blade which cut to tendons. Had to call to cancel. Told them his injuries were worse and we would not be able to attend that lesson. Was charged for the next three weeks but I had told them that night my husband's injuries were worse. Now they will not refund my three weeks of sessions. I would think a medical reason would provide understanding and refund. Not too happy and feeling like now they have my money they couldn't care less. They want to credit my money to future lessons but his finger has to be surgically worked on. Why would be concerned about his next lesson. Horrible customer service. Also when I did communicate with them that my husbands finger was injured before we found out about his surgery the message I got back that was automated says, "(Auto-Reply) We are open for lessons by appointment on the weekends, but the management office is currently closed. We'll reply to all messages by 10am on Monday. Thank you! JFMA" How am I supposed to communicate if I'm getting automated messages telling me they can't be reached till Monday and his lessons were on Saturday mornings . Makes no sense. I was not being negligent in my having to stop music lessons. Good business would factor these variables of life that are not scheduled for a 24 hr notice. read more

Do not support this place! The teachers do not teach anything they just watch you sing and don't challenge you. If I wanted someone to hear me sing I could do that for free any day. If you try calling them they purposely don't answer so you don't cancel your lessons and only answer the phone if you say your a new student. read more

My 5 year old son wanted to take piano lessons so we reached out to JF music academy. They were running a special for January plus a free introductory class. Ms Lorraine is our sons teacher and he's really enjoying his sessions. He is enjoying his sessions so I'm hoping he will continue his Interest in learning. read more

I started taking guitar lessons with Alex about 2 months ago. It has been fantastic. Everyone at the school is incredibly nice, and it really has a low-key small town community type atmosphere. My lesson is one of the best parts of my week and I look forward to it every time. Most of the students are children, but I'm not. If you think you are too old to start an instrument or to take music lessons, you are incorrect! It's never too late to strike up the band. Give it a try, you will be glad you did. read more

They're really professional there. I got to take piano lessons while in high school, and although I didn't appreciate it then, it was a great experience. I later took guitar and piano lessons there as an adult, and I was happy with their teachers. The staff was always accommodating. When I have kids, I will definitely be taking them there. Online zoom call lessons have been working great. Patient teachers, service oriented front desk staff, charter school payment allowed. This place has been excellent for my 3 children. We took guitar, song writing, mandarin, piano, and tried out a music application type class for our youngest preschool age child. read more

The Joe Ferrante Music Academy is a wonderful place to learn to sing or play an instrument. The academy has a number of teachers that teach a wide range of instruments to a wide range of talent levels. My kids have had a wonderful time learning to sing, play the violin, and play the piano, in addition to learning about music in general. The teachers are very patient with young children and have taken a genuine interest in them. Maybe the best thing about The Ferrante Academy it allows its students to showcase their talents with recitals and performances four to five times a year. Kept switching my kid's piano teacher. One quit, and the other's schedule changed due to her auditions. Teachers are nice but most are young musicians that may not have the most experience working with very young children or have the most patience. They book the sessions back to back so the teachers rarely have time to give meaningful feedbacks or discuss students progress. If they do, they run into the next students time, which happened frequently so we were shorted 5-10min here and there, which doesnt seem like a lot but considering you're paying $1/min, it adds up. read more

My daughter takes piano lessons here, we like her teacher she's very personable and seems to enjoy working with kids. They also hand out music bucks to the kids after each lesson which you then redeem for candy/toys. The facility could use some cleaning, it has a dingy smell to it. read more

The instructor Fernanda gets 5+ stars. She's great with my daughter and my daughter seems to be learning a lot. The lessons are pretty affordable for me. Why 4 stars and not 5? They sold me a keyboard with the extras for a 'discounted' rate of about $300. I found it for $150 online. The manager was willing to work with me on the price but couldn't match the online price which I understand. But double? Hmmmm. They let me return it, so that was good. The books are also more expensive then say Amazon. If you have Amazon and are a prime member I've found the books are almost half the cost of what they're selling them for. I realize online is always going to be cheaper but they're not even close. read more

My son has been taking piano lessons from this school for about three years and has just recently taken up voice. He has had several piano teachers over the years and all have been excellent. They are patient and understanding, yet still insist on disciplined practice to instill the lessons. They teach both theory and practical applications and will not advance a student if they haven't earned it! All of the instructors and staff are wonderful and caring. Absolutely love JFMA! Mario, Summer and Ms. Deborah are amazing! They are super friendly and very personable. Today's parents live stressful, super busy lives. When we run around with our kids from one thing to another, we want to feel welcome....we want to feel like the encouragement for our child's love of music is more than just another payment. I've been taking guitar lessons here when I have spare time from my job. My son also takes piano lessons here. He's doing really well in his studies and he sounds good at home. I'm enjoying getting back into guitar with the help of my teacher. Our family has had a good experience here so far. Parking is plentiful and free. There are a lot of shopping centers nearby. The facilities are clean and high quality. My son takes lessons on a nice baby grand piano and I like that. We don't have one at home so I am really pleased knowing he has an opportunity to use one every week. The staff is friendly. The teachers are professional. So Its time I'm updating for Joe Ferrante Music Academy. My son's initial drum teacher who he loved so much quit a while back, the academy replaced him with someone who could barely played himself. At that time our relationship with the academy went from bad to worse. We asked to change teacher and were accommodated right away. Reason for me giving them 4 stars this time was because the owner reached out and gave us a few lessons back. I appreciated him trying to change the situation and make things better and fair. Why is it not a 5 stars???? Because I still feel the lack of communication among the academy staff. We got the change in teacher right away which was good, but the owner wasn't aware of the problem when he called. I had to tell him what happen myself instead of it coming from his staff (he called initially for a different problem which caused me to give them 1 star in the first place). And when it was time for the free lessons he promised there were some miscommunication. But long story short, I appreciate him reaching out and make things right even though staff communication still needs improvement. Thank you! read more

My two sons took their first piano lessons here and they enjoyed every minute. The staff is wonderful, and always helpful and encouraging. The boys always looked forward to lessons. I can't recommend the Academy highly enough. My son receives tutoring in math & also takes trumpet lessons. His math grade went from a D up to a B+ and doing math homework is not the chore that it used to be, thank goodness. Last year, my son was 13th chair in the trumpet section in his public middle school. Because of his trumpet lessons, this year he advanced to the point where he is now the section leader. I cried when I saw his name highlighted on the school's Christmas program & he played his solo. I never have to push him to practice & he brings his trumpet home every day to practice. What 14 yr old willingly plays the trumpet every day for at least 45 minutes & looks forward to going to a music lesson every Saturday AM? One that goes to Joe Ferrante Music Academy!!! Please take a chance, you will NOT regret it, I assure you. By the way, this review is being very willingly written by a very happy parent who willingly pays out tuition $$$ every semester because of the positive changes she sees the change in her child. read more
