Just absolutely amazing. I bought a new guitar that had an Evertune system installed. The setup from the factory was playable but everything just felt a little off all over the neck. Since I spent a little more on this guitar than I usually do I just wanted to make sure everything was absolutely perfect. I'm a novice when it comes to guitar setups and decided to take a stab at it first by just doing some simple relief and action adjustments but it just felt off. Strings were pinging all over. Frets near the nut buzzed and played weird and there were some dead spots. I looked for local guitar techs near me and found Marzz. Saw he had great reviews and decided to give him a call and set up an appointment. It's great that Marcelo offers appointments. I was able to have 1:1 time with no pressure to explain what's going on and how I like the guitar to feel. Marcelo also did some preliminary checks to the guitar and noticed right away what some of the issues were and discussed them with me. Talking with Marcelo was like talking to a long-time friend that you've known for years. I've been in other tech shops before and haven't felt that same warmth that I felt from him. Marcelo is a Wizard. No more dead frets/pinging spots/tight feeling nut. I had many low frets and he had to level and and re-crown my stainless steel frets. I found Marzz Guitarzz after searching for local guitar repair shops. I was impressed by his number of 5-star reviews so I setup an appointment. Marzz is such an easy-going guy with a clear passion for what he does. My guitar was a beat-to-sh*t Schecter and he treated it like it was a '59 Les Paul. He explained in detail what the issues with my guitar could be and what the possible repairs would entail. I also left my Fender Jag-Stang for his 5-point guitar tech/setup service and this is what made me want to dust off my yelp account and leave a 5 star review. I never bothered to set up a Martin D35 I got 7 years ago. Never really played much until the last year, but I thought it sounded great but played a little stiff. Finally brought it in for a proper setup but didn't trust the big box place. Brought it to Marcelo after reading the reviews. Having had most of my guitars worked on by Marcelo, it's about time I leave a review on his work. I've brought my guitars (strat, tele, LP) to Marcelo for general setups, and every time I do I'm blown away at the difference in playing quality. He is incredibly meticulous, always thoroughly checking the frets and neck for playability. He's been honest about issues that he has found (twisted neck, unlevel frets, etc.), and has always informed me about the price before going ahead with the work. I've never felt like he was trying to add any hidden costs or upcharge me. I cannot overstate how much I recommend getting a good, professional setup on a guitar at least once, no matter if it's an American fender or an affordable squier. Yes, it's more expensive than what guitar center offers, but having your guitar play effortlessly is the best thing you can do to increase your play time. I haven't been able to put my guitar down in months, and it's all because they are always such a joy to play after they get the Marcelo touch. I had bought a used Gibson Hummingbird a few weeks ago. It had an issue with the saddle--the previous owner had poorly modified it to lower the action and made the guitar nearly unplayable. I contacted Marcelo to setup an old partcaster tele that was playing fine but nothing special. I didn't really know what to expect (first time with Marzz Guitarzz) but I went with Marcelo's suggestions and when I got my guitar back, I don't know what magic happened, but the intonation was full of life. So glad I found Marzz. My son plays electric guitar and his instructor told him that the input jack and tone knob were loose and needed some work. My son and I brought the guitar to Marzz. He thoroughly examined the guitar and found other issues and offered to fix every one of them. I don't know what kind of magic he used but when we got the guitar back, it sounded better than when it was brand new. Marzz explained all the work he did in great detail and charged a very reasonable price. He even threw in an extra modification for free. When my son was testing out his newly revived guitar, Marzz let him try out all his effects pedals, My son was having such a great time and Marzz was so patient. I brought to wildly different guitars to Marzz for setups; one a Republic single cone parlor size resonator and the other a 1999 Danelectro Hodad, the one with the Dano branded Bixby trem. Marzz spent time with me to find out about my musical background and playing style, what I wanted from each guitar, my preferred tunings and string gauges. He told me what he provides with a setup, which is comprehensive and reasonably priced. Check his web page for a description of his standard setup. You'll see what I mean. He did a great job on both of them. The resonator was setup with high action and medium strings. Marzz dropped the action and restrung it with light-mediums and now it plays like a dream. The Hodad was in bad shape and I was afraid that it would require extensive work. Marzz cleaned, adjusted and did some kind of voodoo to tighten up the pots and switching without replacement. Again, the setup is perfect. I highly recommend Marzz's setup work. Between his preliminary discussions with you about your needs and expectations and his attention to detail in his setup work he'll give you what you need for the best value. read more

Marcelo is responsive, especially when I was on my way to drop my guitar. He does a thorough job setting up and cleaning (factory lacquer on some frets) the guitar. He will do the set up as you request. My Fender Telecaster came from the factory with a low quality nut that, in my opinion, was causing my guitar to lose tuning frequently. He offered to make adjustments after getting the guitar back to me to ensure it was to my liking. Highly recommend Marzz to anyone looking to setup or renew a guitar. read more
