All thanks to Marcella! My daughter really enjoys having her as a vocal coach/instructor and looks forward to each session. She's patient, engaging and has built up my daughter's confidence, all while teaching technique, developing vocal skills. The front desk at PMA are also incredibly helpful and easy to contact, whether by phone, text or email. I appreciate how easy it is to book makeup lessons and change schedules online. My daughter also enjoys seeing Marcella's feedback and thoughtful comments posted after each lesson.

However, when I needed a set-up, , cleaning, and sound adjustment, I took my Pollmann to Tom. My bass now sounds better than ever, and he had a solid string recommendation. Also, just this week I bought a Kay Bass, circ, 1940 from Tom, for my bluegrass, gigs. It was reasonably priced and he did some work I requested for a minimal charge, adjustments to the bridge curvature, and a replacement tailpiece cable (I wanted a new Teflon version). I kept the original metal piece since it was part of the original bass. Thanks, Tom, for your expertise and gracious manner with me as a customer who needed some guidance.

Nicky was in the store helping me out, and they spent so much time allowing me to try all the different instruments and talking me through them and answering my questions. The shop also has a rental option as well where 50% of the rent goes towards an instrument of your choice (doesn't have to be the rental). If you're looking for a high quality instrument with amazing service, this is the place to go. Could not recommend them more highly!

Would have loved to have seen this store in Old Town, but the current location is very convenient for quick in-and-out errands - and a short distance from the Conservatory. If I need to use something for music practice, I hate to buy online without knowing if it will work for me or not. Brick and mortar music stores like this are essential, and I'm glad Bertrands is so close by!

The sound and the vibe echoed throughout the hall was riveting to the bone. The duet by Mariné Ter-Kazaryan (soprano), and Gayane Simonyan (piano) was so surreal. The harmony between the two throughout the performance was seamless and truly a memorable event to be part of. This performance hall and venue is so unique and in par with the top performing halls elsewhere. The creator of the program is non other than Melissa Froehlich, the Director of Development at the center who meticulously produced tonight's flawless performance.

I made a purchase of a couple strings and an accessory that required me to take out my inhole sound pickup, so I asked if I could borrow a screwdriver (to literally turn the screws to the left a grand total of two times). He tells me "sorry, we don't usually loan tools out for use," which is totally understandable! So I ask if he can then just help me out and turn the screws himself if I'm not allowed to touch the screwdriver -- he audibly groans and looks at me, then finally turns, practically dragging his feet as he grabs the screwdriver to help me out. I was starting to be pretty stunned by this point. Then, when I was about to leave and putting my purchases in my gig bag outside pocket, the other guitar technician, Mike, starts staring daggers at me across the floor, then tells me to show my receipt to the guy at the door-- he thought I was stealing. After I'd been walking around the store for 2 hours and making multiple purchases. My jaw literally dropped. I don't know what's going on at this store, or if they treat every customer this way, or just me. I would speculate that because I dress quite basically (like a skateboarder, roughed up clothes, maybe?) they assumed I had no money/was poor to justify how they decided to interact with me. No matter who I am or what I might look like, staff should treat EVERY customer the same. I was considering buying a guitar from this store, the Yamaha AC1R specifically that they have in the acoustic guitar room, but now I don't ever want to come back.

The gentleman who helped us, (who I assume is the owner) took the time to properly measure my daughter for the correct size intrument as well as went over proper care. I recently renewed the instrument rental and it was so quick and easy. My daughter was even remeasured to make sure she has the correct size instrument. I was also told that if she happens to have a growth spurt, we can come back and change the size of the instrument at no additional charge. Payment is through Venmo or Zelle.

The instrument we were given was determined by the music program's director and assistant to be, instead, a violin. I obtained a third opinion at Encore Music, and was informed by the teacher there as well that the instrument we had been given is (i.e., was strung as) a violin. I brought it back today for a refund of pro-rated rental fee (from what I had paid upfront). Note that I asked the assistant at the store to identify the instrument for me before telling him the problem; he identified it as a violin. When I explained the reason for the return, he then said that it is a viola, and brought it to the proprietor, who insisted that it was a viola all along. I insisted on the return, but they did not refund me the tax I pre-paid, and also charged me for a full 3 months' payment instead of the 2.5 months it has been. Overall, this has been a frustrating waste of time and money. There are many other options for instrument rentals in the area and I recommend you use a different one.

There aren't too many of them in my area, and the one closer to me was charging way too much. This place is a bit out of my way but the price I was quoted was much better than the other place, so I decided to check it out. I made the appointment with Jerry, who seems to be the main person here. Since I live far away, he was able to accommodate me by getting it done in less than an hour. It was a fairly simple job of just drilling some holes on the bass and installing the covers, but I appreciated his willingness to work with my schedule. The work was clean and didn't see any dings or scratches on my new bass. I've been to some places in the past where I found all kinds of scratches afterward. If I'm in the area again, I am going to bring some of my other guitars and basses for a basic set-up. Please note that this place is by appointment only, and you can't wait inside the shop while they work. The door is kept locked (for a good reason). You need to knock on the door to enter.

I was of course a bit upset that I didn't offer them that amount instead.. a $1200 difference. Well, instead of being dicks about it, they said "no problem, since Reverb send the offer, we'll match it" and they refunded $1200 on the purchase. They then packaged it perfectly and set it Priority overnight Fedex to me. That is FIRST CLASS service.

My high-end guitars do not resonate as well as this guitar. They do not look as good as this guitar. harmonically this guitar rings extremely well, and it is a very comfortable guitar to play for hours. So don't let the price tag fool you. These are extremely good guitars at a price that will make me return every year to grab one. Jin and his team are wonderful people and it was a pleasure discovering their store and their guitars. I appreciated talking to lee as well, good people. On a technical note , I dropped off a case and provided some Thomastik-Infeld strings, and Jin set the guitar up perfectly for intonation, action, and resonance. He tweaked it for my personal likes. you wont find this kind of detailed care in a big box , guitar store. Even if you don't need one, I know they would make a great gift for anyone who wants to learn how to play guitar.

He showed me a Telecaster style guitar and it had beautiful sustain. Much more than any Fender I have owned. I knew something was up. I said how come it has so much sustain? He turned the guitar around - neck through body!!! WOW! I wish I had more time to play the guitar through an amp, but he told me how he imports the guitars and sets them up perfectly. I believe it, the guitar played like butter and sustained so good. Then the kicker. The guitars are around $500. What??????? Let me put this in perspective. Maybe in 1980 you could get an Ibanez 335 type guitar - but it wouldn't play like this. It would need serious setup. My Suhr plays great but I paid way more than this. My Eric Johnson Strat has flaws and I wish was setup by Jin Soo. I don't need another guitar. I have so many. However, I cannot stop thinking about the guitar I played and how well he set it up. For $500 I'm not expecting miracles but this is close to it. It's a $500 guitar setup like one of the best guitars in the world. Smooth, no buzz, sustain. I want one!
