However, over time, we felt that he had become a little too comfortable, and his learning had plateaued. We had already been considering making some changes, and a recent experience with the front desk ultimately pushed us to make that decision. Several months ago, I brought up the fact that one of the cameras in the lesson rooms was not working. Unfortunately, instead of the issue being resolved, it has gotten worse. When I brought it up again last week, I found that multiple cameras were now malfunctioning. When I asked about it, the response I received from the front desk was rude and came with an unnecessary attitude. I was essentially told that I was welcome to go into the lesson room with my child. Parents being asked to accompany their children into the lesson room should not be the long-term solution to a problem that has been ongoing for months. If cameras are provided for a reason, they should be functioning, particularly when lessons involve an adult teacher alone in a room with a child. What bothered me the most was not simply that the cameras were not working, but the attitude I received when I raised a concern. The fact that the situation went from one malfunctioning camera months ago to multiple malfunctioning cameras, with no apparent resolution, was concerning enough. Being met with that kind of attitude when I brought up the issue was the final push for me. Feeling comfortable with the environment and knowing that legitimate concerns will be taken seriously is important. This experience made me realize that Encore Music may no longer be the right place for my son.

Encore offers music lessons for piano, violin, viola, cello, flute, saxophone, clarinet, guitar, bass guitar, drums, ukulele, and vocals. They also offer dance and acting classes. I really love the ease of their scheduling. I also like the incentives that they offer to music students such as prizes that they earn through points. My kid even earned a personalized trophy after one year of lessons. Encore also offers two recitals per year. Parents can sign up their child to perform. It's such a joy seeing all the students share their musical talents. The Encore staff is very knowledgeable and helpful.

Her unselfishness when deal with a timid or nervous student is without comparison anywhere else. She is an extremely compassionate individual for the craft of teach and the art of playing piano. If you ask her for help she will let know whether or not she can help at that moment. If not she will make time to help you and let you know when. She's not necessarily in the business to become extremely rich of off this one business. Regina is going to one day be one of those individuals you will read about in Forbes' Magazine under Most Influential People. I am glad to have been able to see the change from her first studio to this one. I am truly honored to have know her both on a personal and professional level. Regina's Music Studio reach such a high level that it has even beat the expectations of many nay-sayers. I commend her for her perseverance and dedication to her duty as an instructor. If you want your child to become the best they can be as a musician and as a functioning member of society, well then Regina's Music Studio is the place to go. Also, don't just think that children are allowed to be her students. I'm a 23 year-old Marine stationed in Okinawa and like I said about her unselfishness and dedication to her craft/art she still helps me to this day. I hope for the very best and I know with absolute certainty that this will turn into many more studios staffed with instructors cut from the same cloth as her. Regina, to you I want to say that I am so proud of you. Thank you for keeping me with you as you went through the headache and struggle to create this. People will say it's a business. But you make it look like a lifestyle and you know the saying. You can work a job all your life and still not feel true satisfaction. But find a job you absolutely love, and you'll never work a day in your life.

My son Sebastian started taking piano lessons at the Huntington location back in September 2023 with Mrs. Sisilia (owner). First, we enrolled him in the "Tiny Finger Piano" group program for 5-6yo, which Sebastian really enjoyed and HIGHLY RECOMMEND as an introduction to piano for little ones. When he completed the program with Mrs. Sisilia, he started private piano lessons with Dr. Melody Lin and currently with Ms. Alexandra Engen. Both teachers are amazing and I can tell Sebastian has learned and improved so much! Thank you to all the SMMC staff and Mrs. Sisilia.

I do not exaggerate to say that we owe it all to the kind, caring people at the San Marino Music Center. They are always quick to answer the phone and friendly when helping us with any of our needs. Our son has now been studying with Dr. Cameron for several years. He is always kind and constructive in his feedback, and something we love is that in addition to teaching our son out of the many piano books they have available he is also open to helping our son learn songs that our son wants to learn for fun! I will note for first time visitors that the Mission location is the main location and the Huntington location is more of a satellite location for lessons. So, for your first visit, I recommend going to the Mission location. I simply can't recommend the San Marino Music Center highly enough. Owners John and Sisillia are lovely people who not only care about running a top-notch music school, but they genuinely care about the people who come into their business and the community it is based in. They have done so many wonderful things for the community over the years, and what was so meaningful to us was that when our son premiered two of his compositions with a musical group in Pasadena they and Dr. Cameron all came out to show their support. So amazing!

The art projects are fun and messy/complicated enough that I wouldn't want to do them at home. They usually involve a few steps and take about 10 min or so. The classes are outside but they have a fan blowing cool air when it's hot. We tried the sensory art classes when my baby was about 12 months then again at 15 months or so but she wasn't into them until she turned 2.5. That seems to be the sweet spot for her but there are a range of ages in class. The music classes are great too (Mr Micah is the best!) but I've already reviewed those. Sadly we couldn't afford to do both art and music.

I've loved playing drums in one of Ernesto Molina's rock band classes at World of Music! (Mom's…read moreBand!) Ernesto has a real gift for bringing musicians together and making the experience both fun and rewarding. He's patient, encouraging, and knows how to challenge us without taking the joy out of playing. I also took private lessons from World of Music with Joe Tavarez. He was also fantastic and my drumming really improved. As a drummer, I especially appreciate the emphasis on listening to each other and playing as a band--not just getting through our individual parts. There's nothing better than feeling a song come together, and Ernesto makes the work of getting there enjoyable. He takes the music seriously while creating an atmosphere where everyone can learn, make mistakes, and have a great time. I'm always excited to get behind the kit. Highly recommend!

I participated in band classes with owner Ernesto Molina for over a year. Ernesto can be a very…read morefriendly guy and has tremendous patience with amateur students. The problem is that Ernesto does not understand how to treat his students with respect and professionalism and operate a successful business. Though I had no signed agreement, Ernesto made up unfair rules, such as me supposedly paying for classes I never attended and paying some "semester" fee twice a year that I never agreed to. In late July of 2026, I informed him that my children and I would be traveling the month of August, and I needed to pause. He agreed. But then in early September, he billed me for the entire month of classes I wasn't even in the country for- and refused to remove them from my invoice even when I reminded him about it. In other words, he went back on our agreement and then threatened to drop me from future classes unless I paid. He literally sent me nasty emails ("get out of my life!") and chose to lose multiple students in our band rather than stick to our agreement and recall that the customer is always right. Again, I had no signed agreement and would never do business under such unfair terms. If you want to deal with this level of unprofessionalism and hostility, then this is your place for music classes! If you want to deal with a more competent and professional team that respects its students and works with them to ensure that they are happy and continue taking classes, then there are many other options around, including School of Rock - which, unlike World of Music, allows you to make up classes you can't attend. Sadly, I cannot recommend this business and have seen almost every member of our band stop coming over the past few months. I don't know how much longer this place will be in business. Meanwhile, former members of our band will continue to meet elsewhere and accomplish the same learning of songs under friendlier conditions. You have been warned.
