Mr. Greg is such a people person, especially encouraging to future young musicians. He's teaching method is methodical to achieve preciseness. For instance, the instruments were tuned prior to class and beat maker is pretty much on throughout the class. Toward end of the class, the parent can listen to what was learned from the lesson. I can definitely tell the difference, I am able to make (not so irritated) notes and play some patterns after 1 hour. Highly recommend this friendly environment in this nice community.

However, over time, we felt that he had become a little too comfortable, and his learning had plateaued. We had already been considering making some changes, and a recent experience with the front desk ultimately pushed us to make that decision. Several months ago, I brought up the fact that one of the cameras in the lesson rooms was not working. Unfortunately, instead of the issue being resolved, it has gotten worse. When I brought it up again last week, I found that multiple cameras were now malfunctioning. When I asked about it, the response I received from the front desk was rude and came with an unnecessary attitude. I was essentially told that I was welcome to go into the lesson room with my child. Parents being asked to accompany their children into the lesson room should not be the long-term solution to a problem that has been ongoing for months. If cameras are provided for a reason, they should be functioning, particularly when lessons involve an adult teacher alone in a room with a child. What bothered me the most was not simply that the cameras were not working, but the attitude I received when I raised a concern. The fact that the situation went from one malfunctioning camera months ago to multiple malfunctioning cameras, with no apparent resolution, was concerning enough. Being met with that kind of attitude when I brought up the issue was the final push for me. Feeling comfortable with the environment and knowing that legitimate concerns will be taken seriously is important. This experience made me realize that Encore Music may no longer be the right place for my son.

My son Sebastian started taking piano lessons at the Huntington location back in September 2023 with Mrs. Sisilia (owner). First, we enrolled him in the "Tiny Finger Piano" group program for 5-6yo, which Sebastian really enjoyed and HIGHLY RECOMMEND as an introduction to piano for little ones. When he completed the program with Mrs. Sisilia, he started private piano lessons with Dr. Melody Lin and currently with Ms. Alexandra Engen. Both teachers are amazing and I can tell Sebastian has learned and improved so much! Thank you to all the SMMC staff and Mrs. Sisilia.

I do not exaggerate to say that we owe it all to the kind, caring people at the San Marino Music Center. They are always quick to answer the phone and friendly when helping us with any of our needs. Our son has now been studying with Dr. Cameron for several years. He is always kind and constructive in his feedback, and something we love is that in addition to teaching our son out of the many piano books they have available he is also open to helping our son learn songs that our son wants to learn for fun! I will note for first time visitors that the Mission location is the main location and the Huntington location is more of a satellite location for lessons. So, for your first visit, I recommend going to the Mission location. I simply can't recommend the San Marino Music Center highly enough. Owners John and Sisillia are lovely people who not only care about running a top-notch music school, but they genuinely care about the people who come into their business and the community it is based in. They have done so many wonderful things for the community over the years, and what was so meaningful to us was that when our son premiered two of his compositions with a musical group in Pasadena they and Dr. Cameron all came out to show their support. So amazing!

I absolutely loved the class. My son was a bit nervous at first as he had never been in a setting similar to this, but ultimately loved it as he got more comfortable. The teacher was great. My son and I both look forward to classes with Ms. Alana here at the South Pasadena location. Ms.Alana is a gem!!! She's so welcoming, always wearing a smile. She's wonderfully entertaining and, Her voice is beautiful. We appreciate her guitar skills! I love that Her eyes light up, when she sees my son dancing and really enjoying her music. We are so blessed to have had this opportunity to be a part of the LoveBug community. We are forever attached to LoveBug now. We've even passed on lovebug business cards to a nearby business to spread the word to other parents. Please come!! You won't regret it. So who is "LoveBug?" He's a puppet! Super cute little green guy. Who loves to sleep behind the curtains. He comes out once to greet all the children and give high 5s or blow kisses. My son is always a little scared of LoveBug, and Ms. Alana is a gem. She always keeps a little distance and asks if LoveBug can blow kisses to him. I'm So grateful for the accommodations to meet each child needs and preferences. The songs go by monthly themes. They sing songs that include- my child's name, his fav foods. And, that's so special too. My son loves to shout out his fav foods. What kind of songs? The popular global children's songs, as well as some of LoveBug own special, one of a kind songs. Famous hits like- the beach boys surfing USA or chubby checkers "The twist." You can expect a bubble party, lots of different instruments to try, the parachute comes out sometimes, and there's a big giant drum-That all the children to get to play a beat on together. The parking at this location is street parking. And we haven't had any issues. If you don't find any parking up front there's lots of street parking in nearby streets. Come come and come!! We'll see you there!!! :)

I have been a student of Ernesto's at World of Music for about four years, and I can honestly say…read morethat my experience has been so much more meaningful than simply learning how to play an instrument. Ernesto is an incredibly talented musician and teacher, but what truly sets him apart is his ability to connect with his students. He has a genuine understanding of how to teach people of all ages, personalities, and skill levels, and he creates an environment where learning music feels approachable, encouraging, and fun. I'll be the first to admit that when something becomes difficult, my natural tendency is to walk away or give up. I initially thought learning bass guitar would probably end the same way. Instead, I found myself falling in love with the instrument. Ernesto has always been patient, encouraging, and willing to meet me where I am. I'm certainly not a professional musician, but after playing for a while, I can confidently say that I know how to play bass. I can pick up sheet music, read it, and actually play along--and that confidence is something Ernesto helped me develop. That confidence eventually encouraged me to join the mom band at World of Music. What started as a music lesson turned into something I never expected: five incredible new friendships that have become like family. We rehearse, laugh, have an absolute blast together, and perform in recitals a couple of times a year. It has become one of the most rewarding and fun parts of my life. Ernesto is also exceptionally easy to work with from a business standpoint. The policies and payment expectations are clearly communicated from the beginning, and he provides friendly reminders throughout the year. At the same time, he has always been incredibly reasonable and flexible when circumstances arise. I have always felt that he is fair, transparent, and genuinely invested in his students and their families. World of Music is about so much more than learning notes, chords, or an instrument. It is a place where people can develop confidence, discover a genuine love for music, build community, and create lasting memories. If you're looking for a place where you won't just learn music, but learn to truly love it and feel it, I wholeheartedly recommend Ernesto and World of Music. You won't regret it. And if you're lucky, you may walk away with something even more valuable than musical ability: lifelong friendships and a community that feels like family. I can confidently say that Ernesto will always be a friend, a mentor, and someone I genuinely look up to. I'm incredibly grateful that I picked up that bass four years ago--and even more grateful that I didn't give up. Thank you, Ernesto. Thank you, World of Music.

I participated in band classes with owner Ernesto Molina for over a year. Ernesto can be a very…read morefriendly guy and has tremendous patience with amateur students. The problem is that Ernesto does not understand how to treat his students with respect and professionalism and operate a successful business. Though I had no signed agreement, Ernesto made up unfair rules, such as me supposedly paying for classes I never attended and paying some "semester" fee twice a year that I never agreed to. In late July of 2026, I informed him that my children and I would be traveling the month of August, and I needed to pause. He agreed. But then in early September, he billed me for the entire month of classes I wasn't even in the country for- and refused to remove them from my invoice even when I reminded him about it. In other words, he went back on our agreement and then threatened to drop me from future classes unless I paid. He literally sent me nasty emails ("get out of my life!") and chose to lose multiple students in our band rather than stick to our agreement and recall that the customer is always right. Again, I had no signed agreement and would never do business under such unfair terms. If you want to deal with this level of unprofessionalism and hostility, then this is your place for music classes! If you want to deal with a more competent and professional team that respects its students and works with them to ensure that they are happy and continue taking classes, then there are many other options around, including School of Rock - which, unlike World of Music, allows you to make up classes you can't attend. Sadly, I cannot recommend this business and have seen almost every member of our band stop coming over the past few months. I don't know how much longer this place will be in business. Meanwhile, former members of our band will continue to meet elsewhere and accomplish the same learning of songs under friendlier conditions. You have been warned.
