First of all let me just tell you...this guy Edwin of Cresentia Musiis an AWESOME keyboard service tech! He fixed my keyboard in less than 2 days...on a weekend! When most other shops would have been 2-3 weeks! If you need some keyboard service done, don't waste your time with other shops, just call him! He's very personable and will take the time to diagnose your service issue with him one on one, he will tell you what he thinks, and won't charge you crazy upfront diagnostics fees (which means he knows what he's doing because he is confident in his work!)! Its been a while since i left a review. For about 5 years my lcd screen on my korg triton extreme went out. So i took it to a place near my house. The guy told me that korg no longer made that part. So i was frustrated only being able to use a piano sound because i could not maneuver as the screen was not readable. I took it to Cresenta music and this guy said he could do it. Top notch service from Edwin! I called him up to have my church keyboard repaired. He gave me an estimate based on price of the parts (he even showed me how much it would cost for him) plus labor. Then he called me later saying that the keys were just dislocated, not broken, so he wouldn't need to order the keys which made the cost even cheaper. Edwin is the man! Brought my 76 Key Yamaha Motif here to be repaired on Saturday Aug 27th 2017. This was my 1st time having this board replaced and everyone I called before this place had a long wait time, a bench fee, and phone estimates that were super expensive. I found this place online and he said I could bring my board in the same day and he would start working on it Monday. Got to the store Saturday afternoon, he helped me bring it in and tested it out, told me what he thought might be wrong and about how long it would be. I was originally quoted somewhere between 200 and 250 for the possible repairs, but it turned out to be a little bit more tedious than expected and parts had to be ordered so I ended up paying 280. This was still worth it!! He got my keyboard done 2 days ahead of schedule, showed me the parts he replaced with the receipts, and opened his store after hours just to accommodate my schedule to pick it up.. Great service, great price, great personality. IF I ever need another repair, I will go back to Edwin! read more

I do my own light repairs on my musical instruments but whenever the issue is more complex, I'll take it to a shop. I found this shop via Craigslist (after learning that a certain shop in Pasadena that was recommended to me was still not accepting new repairs due to being back-logged for months) and gave them a call when my Alesis QS6 keyboard wouldn't save patches despite me replacing the internal battery. I sent the unit into the shop on a Monday, and told them "No rush," since this wasn't a keyboard I played all the time. Edwin gave me a call on Wednesday evening (!) telling me he was done with the repairs. Unlike most electronic musical instrument repair shops, which simply swap out a circuit board and call it a day, Edwin actually looks into the affected circuit board closely, sometimes with a microscope, and repairs the actual components that need repair/replacing. In my case, a couple capacitors went bad and needed replacement and a couple diodes were disconnected -- something I couldn't have remedied myself. His fees were perfectly reasonable; my keyboard isn't worth that much these days, but the repairs were still less than the current value of the keyboard. He also has a policy where you don't pay a thing if he determines the problem is un-fixable (Other shops charge $75 just to take a look and give you an estimate). Yelp needs to have 10 stars for people who provide the kind of service that Edwin does at his music shop. I went in with several issues with my electric drum kit that needed some attention or possible repairs. While I was explaining the first couple problems he was listening and during conversation he had the unit taken apart troubleshooting, problem figured out right there in front of me while showing me and explaining why and how we can fix it. I mean really, who does that these days? Most other shops I've been to just write you up a ticket and tell you they'll order the part and swap it out when it gets there and check back in two to three weeks. Then the problem comes back in a year or so. Then came the next thing on my list of repairs. The "Brain" or drum module(TD-20). The LCD had gone completely blank and the input jacks for all the triggers were loose from the last guy who repaired it and failed to tighten things up properly. Not gonna mention any names but they won't be getting a positive review anytime soon. Anyway long story short, Edwin fixed the LCD on the module tightened things up and called me up with the good news. Cherry on top, all for a very reasonable cost. Thanks Edwin! read more

I needed to get my Axiom Pro 25 fixed asap. I called Perfect Circuit and the guy there told me to just buy a new one as it'll cost $70/hr and that I could sell my parts for $20. He said this over the phone. So I called Crescenta Valley and Edwin picked up and told me to swing by. I told him the issue and he said he could take a look. He moved to find the issue and had extra parts so offered to fix it right away. Along the way he found additional issues with the L Fuse and helped me with that.
