wish i could include before and after sound, but violin now rings like a bell.

Craig is a rare human. Kind, patient, very , very reasonable, both in his approach to doing the finest repair for your instrument, and in his prices. He understands the emotional attachment some of us have to our instruments. After the repair he did, my fiddle sounds Better than Ever. Which, of course, makes me sound better. (No small feat). My fiddle had been very poorly repaired - the repair made it unplayable - but now I am in Fine Fiddle (pardon the pun but it's true). Very Grateful to Craig.

A rare find these days. Truly great service, done with care, and the best prices anywhere. Craig is awesome. Call around, get pricing, and you'll be here in the end and you'll end up leaving as a happy, life-long client.

Craig is my cello's savior! I was teaching at a student's home when their cat named Bach(I kid you not), tipped over my case. It landed on my scroll, breaking it at a previous repair site. I took it to all the big name places in Los Angeles and everyone said I needed to have a neck graft costing somewhere in the 10K range. I had insurance on it and they were willing to reimburse me that amount, but I really didn't want it to have such a major repair. It's a delicate cello from the 1750's and I was also wary of a possible change in tone. I brought it to Craig and he said it could be fixed by putting some sort of brace on the inside that he designed. He got it done for around 90% less than the cost of a graft and my cello sounds even better than it did before!

I need to fix my old 1/4 French cello which I bought it long while ago. 1/4 cello was in pretty bad shape,it had one big crack. It needs to have crack repair/glue!! I did my google search and I found this repair shop in Pasadena. Craig was very friendly, knowledgeable and also patient . Most importantly,I am very impressed by his service charge. (1/2 Cello Bow rehairs only $20) I am very happy that Craig did a incredible job ,bring my mini cello back to alive! I will definitely go back in the near future for my full size cello! My Italian cello needs a new endpin and cello surface cleanup. Graig told me that my cello did not look very dirty and suggested me to buy a cleaner to polish out the rosins. He also kindly taught me cleaning steps. I am so happy to bring my cello back to its shine by using this $6 cleaner!! & Endpin was perfectly set by Graig. By the way, I spent $180 to clean a few years ago at a violin shop in Pasadena.

    What a wonderful violin!

I have gone to Craig for years and years. He is honest and is a master Luther... This month, I brought a friends violin to him for bridge, tail gut, strings and bow re-hair. I had gotten an estimate from another local repairman a few weeks back. That quote was 500 bucks. Craig's price was $172.00 total! The bow re-hair was only 22 dollars! I have contacts within a well know violin store in Oakland but Covid made travel unwise. Craig mentioned that he had a very nice Chinese Violin for an outstanding price. I shifted gears, knowing that Craig's recommendation always was outstanding and that it was probably half the price of another shop's. Well, he surprised me again! It came with a bow and case. Just plain unbelievable. But the best was to come when my friend a professional session violinist and member of 4 Los Angeles Orchestras begged me to sell it to her!!! I said sorry, better call Craig... It is rare now a days to friend someone with old world pride of workmanship and an even temperament. But I did learn that Craig has done this work since he was 16 years old, so he know what he's doing. My highest recommendation. Great prices on strings and accessories, also. Paul

Nice paintings in the violin shop .

Finally found his store entrance. Craig looked at it and restring my viola for me right on the spot. Price is very reasonable, too.

My son Sebastian started taking piano lessons at the Huntington location back in September 2023 with Mrs. Sisilia (owner). First, we enrolled him in the "Tiny Finger Piano" group program for 5-6yo, which Sebastian really enjoyed and HIGHLY RECOMMEND as an introduction to piano for little ones. When he completed the program with Mrs. Sisilia, he started private piano lessons with Dr. Melody Lin and currently with Ms. Alexandra Engen. Both teachers are amazing and I can tell Sebastian has learned and improved so much! Thank you to all the SMMC staff and Mrs. Sisilia.

I do not exaggerate to say that we owe it all to the kind, caring people at the San Marino Music Center. They are always quick to answer the phone and friendly when helping us with any of our needs. Our son has now been studying with Dr. Cameron for several years. He is always kind and constructive in his feedback, and something we love is that in addition to teaching our son out of the many piano books they have available he is also open to helping our son learn songs that our son wants to learn for fun! I will note for first time visitors that the Mission location is the main location and the Huntington location is more of a satellite location for lessons. So, for your first visit, I recommend going to the Mission location. I simply can't recommend the San Marino Music Center highly enough. Owners John and Sisillia are lovely people who not only care about running a top-notch music school, but they genuinely care about the people who come into their business and the community it is based in. They have done so many wonderful things for the community over the years, and what was so meaningful to us was that when our son premiered two of his compositions with a musical group in Pasadena they and Dr. Cameron all came out to show their support. So amazing!

She is always dancing and trying to sing along. I love that she gets an introduction to different instruments and music theory/terms. The teachers are wonderful! We love Miss Tobi and Ms Alana. Miss Avani for sensory art is so sweet! My daughter absolutely loves her. The kids get to bring home an art project at the end of every class, and the sensory bin play is such a plus! I think that Sensory Art is also a good class for older kids as well (3+). My son who is 3.5 did a drop in and also loved it. Street parking at the South Pasadena location can be tricky, but it's not terrible.

Shout to Ms.Armie she is incredibly friendly, warm, and welcoming from the moment you walk in. She makes everyone feel comfortable and included, which makes a huge difference. Overall, it's a wonderful place for hands-on learning and creativity. Highly recommend!
