I recently bought a Fender precision bass and wanted to get pick-up and bridge covers installed…read more In order to keep the warranty, I had to get them installed at an authorized Fender servicer. There aren't too many of them in my area, and the one closer to me was charging way too much. This place is a bit out of my way but the price I was quoted was much better than the other place, so I decided to check it out. I made the appointment with Jerry, who seems to be the main person here. Since I live far away, he was able to accommodate me by getting it done in less than an hour. It was a fairly simple job of just drilling some holes on the bass and installing the covers, but I appreciated his willingness to work with my schedule. The work was clean and didn't see any dings or scratches on my new bass. I've been to some places in the past where I found all kinds of scratches afterward. If I'm in the area again, I am going to bring some of my other guitars and basses for a basic set-up. Please note that this place is by appointment only, and you can't wait inside the shop while they work. The door is kept locked (for a good reason). You need to knock on the door to enter.

I've been going to Jerry's for years !…read more Great staff , very friendly and receptive , they take good care of you. He's upfront and listens to what you're wanting to do for your instrument . A true master of his craft. His venue is legit and welcoming, you enter into a ping pong arcade room with a nice sofa. I recently brought in a guitar of mine to get a vibrola installed on it along with some fret work and a new nut , I told him how I wanted it to play and he delivered big time . It stays in tune which is big if you know about lyre maestro vibrolas . I was charge a fair price for the amount of work that was done . I could go on , but from Jerry, his services have always outweighed his fees. You can check out pricing on website. All the guitar's he's worked on for me sound better once it leaves his shop . There's a reason why he has the reputation he does in the music industry

Wonderful family-run business I have had the pleasure of visiting a couple of times in the past…read morecouple of weeks. My first visit was for an adjustment ona new electric violin that I bought for my daughter. It came from Europe, so I had to find a local luthier. They did a fantastic job! I went today for an issue with my daughter's acoustic, which they quickly and thoroughly resolved. The entire family is incredibly knowledgeable, kind, and generous with their skills. I couldn't recommend them more!

Wow, I'm surprised to see AMAC is on here. With a review, no less!…read more The owner, Edmund Wu, is actually a personal friend of mine and, well, I helped him get an eBay retail business going back in the mid '90s (as well as sundry other violin-related ventures he had brewing in his mind at the time). In return, he arranged to have instruments built for me in China. While they *do* maintain a quasi-storefront, this is basically a violin academy that holds periodic recitals as well. They also do A LOT of wholesale-to-the-trade activity. You couldn't tell by looking at the place from the street, but the back half of the building is a warehouse! Since you're probably not a wholesaler, let me tell you a bit about their normal-people services. There's a small violin shop. You can buy recordings, accessories, sheet music, and any violin-family instrument in any size. There is also a limited selection of antique instruments. They also have some very high-grade Chinese violins that give some of the better old Italians a run for their money. They have cheap stuff too. The whole gamut, basically. Most repairs are sent out. I don't know what else to say. The teachers, of whom Edmund is one, are very qualified. Ask for Edmund, because he's the only one who speaks English well enough to carry out any meaningful business. They're closed on Mondays. They also have a small boutique shop in a reconverted bungalow down in Old Town Fullerton, on the west side of Harbor Blvd., north of Chapman.
