He even stated "this will fix the problem." Well, guess what...it didn't fix the problem. I paid all that money for a repair that I was assured would fix the problem and got nothing to show for it. No offer of any type of refund for the ineffectiveness of their service...they came out once or twice more but didn't do ANYTHING to remedy the issue. So I was left paying for a repair that either wasn't needed in the first place or didn't fix the problem they assured me it would. The last guy that came out (apparently one of the owners) was very snippy and sarcastic about the situation as well. I wouldn't recommend these guys to anyone since they bilked me out of thousands.

We have a problem. Thermostat was set to 75, temp was reading 78, and climbing. We have out of town guests coming in 4 days. If we can't resolve this we'll have to arrange for a hotel, not to mention living in miserable heat and humidity. Good luck getting an AC repair in 4 days in the heat of summer! I expect this will be a painful and costly process. I was out Monday and not able to call, so now I'm down to 3 days. After looking over reviews, I decide to call AC&H Services. Scott and Chris have nothing but good reviews. They start at 0700 so I'll try to call and see how far out their schedule is. I call at 7:10. Scott asks for my address and says he'll be here this morning. Wow, impressed that he can get me in today, I think he'll come around lunchtime, walk around and give me an estimate and schedule a future day to come back to do the work. Not at all what happens. Doorbell rings at 7:25! 15 minutes after the phone call! It gets better! At the door, not much in the way of introductions, Scott immediately begins asking questions, what happens, what doesn't happen. Looks at the thermostat for a few seconds, then he and Chris head around back to look at the condenser. Quickly they figure out it's a bad contactor. A relatively inexpensive part that they have on hand in the truck. Just a couple of minutes later and the AC is back online, the house is cooling, the invoice is written, and that's that! I'm good to go and they're ready to leave 30 minutes from the time I called! Clearly things worked out for me and the odds of everything working out don't often happen. One of the reasons I called his business, other than the killer reviews, is that he's very local to me and I hoped it would help, and it did. It's a testament to their professionalism and customer service that, not being an AC expert, Scott could have sold me anything at huge markups because I needed it fixed now. That's not how it went, and I can't express how grateful I am. If at all possible, I will absolutely give Scott my future HVAC business and have, in-fact, advised him that when things slow for him in the fall, I'll want him to replace my old AC unit with something more modern. 10/10 recommend AC&H Services!

I purchased a service membership with Home Climates for my Navien boiler and had Home Climates…read moreperform annual maintenance on October 12, 2023. I paid Home Climates $19.90 per month in a membership fee for annual service. Five weeks later, on November 22, the boiler stopped working due to an ignition failure. Home Climates came to fix it and billed us $289 to fix (see invoice). When I complained, they said I got a discount and if I wasn't a member, the service call would be $499. Actually I paid $528 for the call [19.9 x 12 months = $239 + the $289]. So what was the purpose of the membership and annual maintenance if not to ensure that the furnace will work through the winter? The part and labor for the igniter was guaranteed for 5 years per the invoice, but this was the second time in two years that they had to replace it. I never received a copy of the invoice for the first replacement and I had to request a copy of the most recent one on 11/27. The technician informed us that Navien told him that part should be replaced every 2 years, however, Navien tech center denies that. Even so, I question why it wasn't replaced on October 12, 2023. The part was covered under warranty! This boiler was installed new in January 2021 so it is less than 3 years old. I canceled my Home Climates membership after this, but I will hold them to that 5 year parts and labor for the spark igniter. Something certainly is wrong with their billing.

I have been a customer of JK Mechanical for over 20 years. In my opinion, they started out great,…read morebut lost their way. This review is about the service I received about fixing my 15 year old mini-split unit. History: The outdoor unit is located on a flat roof. I recently had the roof redone and the roofer told me they had to lift the untit six inches to get the new roof material under it. He warned me that this could cause a leak. A very slow leak, but over the course of a year, the unit worked less and less until it finally would not provide hear or cooling. I agreed to have have a technician come out to evaluate my unit and estimate the repair cost. The charge was $150 The technician arrived and inspected the equipmen. He told me bad news. 1. The system was FLAT, meaning that all the refrigerant leaked out. 2. The system uses outdated R22 which is no longer manufactred and remaining stock is very expensive at $300 a pound 4. My system requires 5 pounds so the cost of the refrigerant alone would be cost prohibitive at $1500. 5. The technician called the office to see if they would give a repair cost. They said No. The system is unrepairable. I was ready to install a new minil-split. I got 3 estimates, all around $5000. JKs estimate was $2500 higher. I decided to call another company and they sent a technician out. This is the interesting part! A. He inspected the outdoor unit and said it was obvious where the leak was because of staining at a flair nut. B. He said the system was NOT FLAT and still had some pressure so that evacuation would not be necessary. C, He said that there are drop-in replacements for R22 at reasonable cost. D. My system requires 2 lbs, not 5lbs. He tighted the nut and charged that system and charged me $400 In conclusion, My "unreparable" system was fixed and is working properly for $400. I called JK Mechanical to inform them that I was unhappy and wished to speak to someone in authority. They gave me the human resources person. I explained that their web site talks of unparalled knowlege and expertise, and that my experience was not that. I explained that the JK tech said the system required the outdated R22, but did not tell me about drop-in replacement options. He said that system was flat, and it was not. He said that it required 5 lbs, when it actually requires 2lb. He said that the system was not repairable. It is repaired and is working fine for the last two months. I told her that I was not renewing my service agreement for my home's main HVAC system and that after 20+ years, I was leaving JK Mechanical because my confidence in them was lost. She said that she understood how I felt and would pass along my comments. After paying a service agreement for over 20 years, I thought that recieving a follow-up call would be nice and the mark of a customer focused company. I was wrong. No communication. My confidence in JK is lost. How can I be sure that if my main system breaks, that I'm given the correct advise. The other company earned my business.

So this marks our third full year with the HV MECHANICAL SERVICES team. I can honestly say that there is not a single thing a person could have required done to their heating and cooling systems in a home that I have not had done in this house since purchasing it. To include a new chimney liner for a furnace and a new mini split in a converted garage. During my time with HV Mechanical I have found the company and its personnel to be extremely flexible, kind, and honest. For example, Heath identified a part listed in a new job for one of my projects that was not truly and instead of going ahead with installing the part they bought at their cost he left the component in place and reduced the cost of the project. I would never have known the difference. I trust Heath and his team with the upkeep of this house. Another time I had an issue with my AC unit and brought multiple people out here for a free estimate on a new unit. Instead of gouging me for a complete new AC unit Heath did a thorough examination of our system. Identified the issue and attempted applied the fix to the coolant tubing in an attempt to save us money. His fix has held for over a year. Every company has its faults, especially small business. HV Mechanical Services and their team do their best to ensure they provide you with the best service available at a reasonable cost.
