My family has been members for about a year and a half, first my teenage son, and then my wife and…read moreme. We originally joind through another Snap location, since I split my time between there and Lees Summit. Snap advertises that you can use your membership at any location, but the Lees Summit club doesn't contract with our company the way the other location does. I fully understood and respected that. What was disappointing was my recent interaction with the owner, Sam. Although we live here and have been using the Lee's Summit facility off and on for a few months, Sam explained the situation to me and I told him no problem, we would stop using the facility and work with the other location to move our membership back to them (Snap moved it automatically). I asked if I could just work out there that day since I was already there and I was told "no," despite being a long standing member and despite the fact that they allow prospective members to try the facility for free. After I expressed how disappointing that felt, he changed his mind and allowed it, but the initial refusal left a bad taste. We've been loyal, respectful members, and the lack of flexibility or goodwill in that moment was hurtful, especially when I was very calm, polite, and understanding of the situation. Because of that experience, I can't in good conscience recommend this location.

We were not told about an annual $35 fee for upgrading equipment. It is our responsibility and mistake for trusting him and not reading it completely on our own. Where this became unacceptable is that we turned in our notice towards the end of March. We were aware we would need to pay for an additional 30 days per the contract. They stole an additional $35 because the overlap happened In April, the month where they charge for new equipment. I explained that on principle we did not find it fair to charge us since we were not continuing our membership. They didn't care. Again, is this the kind of business you want to support??

I think the gym is fine, however the people that own the gym are a bunch of scam artists. I got a…read moremessage on Facebook back in April of 2018 asking me to join a 8 week program. I was interested at the time because I was making a lot of changes to my health. I went in for a consultation with the owner Zach Norman who told me this 8 week program would be totally customizable to me. He made it seem like it was free but of course when I got there he charged me $900!!! I even have in writing that it says "this isn't your normal rice, chicken, and broccoli kind of diet program". I was told I would get 3 personal session a week with zach himself, a full diet plan, home and travel workouts since I travel for work.. etc. I have all the details if anyone wants to see what a scam this is. Long story short, zach didn't show up to our first 3 personal sessions.. gave an excuse that he forgot and put me with a 20 year old guy that didn't seem like a "personal trainer with experience" ... 3/4 weeks later I still never got my meal plans . I got a do and do not list of what to eat which I could've gotten from Pinterest... I mean it was ridiculous. He ended up firing that employee when I complained and said I wanted my money back and I wasn't getting what I promised. He agreed to refund me my money and said it was in the "mail"... weeks later I texted him saying I never got my money back... he again said oh it's in the "mail." Months later I texted him with concerns where my $900 was.. come to find out he blocked my number. Up to this point I had been extremely nice and understanding but I just simply wanted my money back. Then I emailed and called up to the gym and they were like oh.. your money is in your "account.." however I never had an actual account with flex. I was an add onto my boyfriend account and under his name so they NEVER had access to my bank account or anything.. and they continued to charge my boyfriend every month the same amount. I told them I wanted a check and I'd either come get it or they could mail it and another person said... ITS IN THE MAIL.. now let me remind you this is almost 6 months later and still haven't heard back from Zach or received any money back. I went into the gym with my grandma to ask The employee to call Zach and he refused to talk to me. I even recorded the conversation with one of the employees to proof to show this guy was blantely trying to scam me and not actually give me my money back. At Thai point, it is 8.5 months later and I have tried everything to be professional and to get my money back. Unfortunately it's now to the point I have to spend my money to take the gym and Zach to small claims court. I just can not believe how unbelievable this situation was and I am truly in awe. For someone who works in the professional world and meets 3-5 business owners a day... I can not imagine someone doing this to a client.. and employee.. anyone. It's disgusting. Zach Norman , I really hope you didn't do this to anyone else. You've put me in a horrible position.

Flex 365 hooked me up with an Olympic bar, a good rack, and a nice clean environment. There were some small group classes going on while I lifted, with a nice-looking circuit of bodyweight and lifting exercises. I was prepared to pay for a day pass, but since it was my first visit, they let me work out for free! I'll definitely come back if I find myself in Lee's Summit again.

She opened a bunch of new studios all across Kansas City and didn't hire enough staff or dedicate enough time to training. I chose to become a barre instructor because I loved going to barre. The instructor schedule is an agreement to teach 5 classes a week. I was regularly scheduled more than 9 classes each week on top of my full-time job. Rachel repeatedly ignored my requests for a lighter schedule. Rachel wasn't available to her employees and she creates these random management positions to remove herself from her employees. She tried to hire a sales manager, a sales director, a fitness director, a social media coordinator, and she has an assistant. Turnover rate for employees is high and you're always training new people. You're asked to come in 20 minutes early and stay 15 minutes after class, but you're not paid for any of that time. I cancelled my membership last December after 3 and a half years of membership. She told me she'd still have to bill me in January, but that would be the last bill. Here I am at the end of March, still paying for a membership at a studio I haven't attended since August of 2023. Rachel is unreachable, unwilling, and unapologetic with respect to my situation. She opens a studio, teaches it how to walk, and then hopes the studio figures it out on its own. The Lee's Summit studio has plummeted in quality since it opened, and it's sad to say I won't ever return.
