Barre3 is the most inclusive and welcoming workout space I've found in KC!…read more I was nervous to try Barre3 because I don't have a dance background or much flexibility, but after taking a few classes through ClassPass, I ended up signing up for a membership. The workouts are genuinely fun while still being challenging. Over the last three months, I've taken Strength, Signature, and Mindful Flow classes, and every instructor has done an excellent job programming workouts, offering modifications to make movements either more accessible or more challenging, and giving helpful form cues throughout class. I also appreciate that the class routines change monthly. It gives you enough time to become familiar with the movements, build confidence, and progressively increase weights before transitioning into something new. The studio itself is extremely clean, and they provide everything you need, including mats, weights, blocks, and bands. I especially appreciate that it's not a heated studio and that instructors are intentional about the room environment by adjusting fans, temperature, and lighting so classes stay comfortable and focused. Another thing I've appreciated is how responsive the studio has been to member demand and that they genuinely care about their members. In the few months I've been attending, they've continued adding class times and formats, including convenient 5:45 AM and 5:45 PM options that fit well into a work schedule.

They offer a student discount which is also a nice benefit! I've been consistently taking barre3 classes for about 6 months and I know I have gotten stronger. It's rare to have a strength class that is focused on lifting weights where the whole class is in sync with the instructor. I also love the signature classes which are more traditional barre. Other barre studios rely on traditional ballet position names, but barre3 is much more accessible in my opinion. The instructors are all wonderful, but I especially love taking classes with Meghan! The studio provides all of the equipment you need, including sweat towels and mats. In a world where the heated studio is taking over, it's nice to have a traditional studio format. The main reason I attend this studio is because they offer a 5:45 am class four days a week. The only thing I would change is that it would be nice to have a mindful flow (yoga focused) class offered later on a week day. Your first class is free, so you have nothing to lose by checking it out!!

It's been over a year since I've found a workout community that tI thrive in, and that community,…read morethat studio atmosphere, is pure barre. This studio location is conveniently and poshly located on the country club plaza and has been open for two years. But, there are multiple metro locations here in Kansas and Missouri, and if you're traveling, you're bound to find a pure barre studio! So, you're never far away from a "lift, tone, and burn"! If you've never danced in your life or if you're in retirement from high school, college, or (lucky you), professional dancing pure barre brings the spirit and discipline of dance conditioning, as well as pilates and hints of yoga, to a full body workout. With multiple class formats and different choreography (but not in the cardio dance class sense) week to week you, and you muscles, will never get bored. The teachers here are so knowledgeable that they are always offering and encouraging variations to the exercises to accommodate beginners (as well as level ups for more advanced class takers). They also offer hands-on (only if you're comfortable) corrections, which improve form and make sure injuries and soreness are minimal. Also, if you thrive on praise and verbal incentives, then pure barre is your place. They make it a priority to learn your name and make every class personable. The instructors are pure barre plaza, which are so well trained and are never slacking; they add so much to the community. It's one of the only fitness studios I've been to where you are used to catching a teacher in another teacher's class on their day off. Tuck Yeah! Pure Barre Rocks

I personally find that the best aspect of this unique community is that we all do things in synchronicity and it's basically like you have your own personal trainer We don't compare each other's abilities, we support each other as a whole. I believe that is the purpose of Pure Barre. Going into year three, I find this place and its sister locations to be my outlet on life. I also find this type of exercise along with their music and amazing instructors to be my personal inspiration which also helps me grow as a person in all aspects of life. If you choose to dive in and give it all that you have, nothing can stand in your way in life ever, but you. Xoxo

This studio has…read moretaught me so much - in fact, I learned the basics here that have kept me going as a yoga lover. I have been going on and off here since 2018 (pre-pandemic). Once we were able to attend classes again, I was very impressed by their dedication to keeping their clients staying safe and feeling that they were in the right hands. I have been attending classes - a few of which are free! They have 2-3 classes a week that are free to introduce you to the studio and to the art of yoga! Following their social media and keeping in touch with the studio will help you figure out when these classes happen. One of my favorite classes that this studio has to offer is "sculpt." They incorporate weights into a traditional yoga setting. This turns the class into s a full-body workout. As a male, there are times where I may not "fit in" to yoga and fitness classes, but here I felt welcome. I feel that this is a workout that other males may also benefit from. They have sessions throughout the entire day. Be sure to check the schedule and plan ahead of time as spaces fill up.

I'm not new to yoga, I'm not new to heated yoga, I'm not new to HIIT. I attend 3-5 heated vinyasa classes a week when I'm home. I signed up for a midday "Hot Yoga" class, literally, that's the name of it. Were there some references to yoga poses? Sure...but that was the extent of the yoga element. The class was heated, so they got that right too I suppose but this was not yoga. There was no emphasis on the breath or correctly getting into poses and utilizing your strength. If you want a HIIT workout and to "feel the burn" then this is the class and studio for you. If you're hoping for heated, thoughtful, meaningful vinyasa this is definitely not the spot. I didn't love the "pep" talk the teacher gave as class got started either, "what are you hear to sweat away today? What are you working for?" Yikes. The people working were friendly and the gal teaching was well meaning I imagine and kind, I'm sure she's not in charge of naming the classes or writing the descriptions. Parking was easy. The studio was pretty and clean. Large locker rooms too.
