The pool, hot tub, and sauna were all at perfect temperatures, and there was plenty of space in each one. There's also a large cycling room and mirror room for dancing. I also appreciated the little touches too, like having shampoo, conditioner, and body wash available in all the showers, and the water in the shower was nice and hot also. It's also great that they offer a "Kids Klub" even though it appears to only be open one day a week based on the posted sign. The fresh fruit smoothies are also a great option particularly for morning workouts and the lockers are spacious and give you the option of bringing your own lock. There were a couple of things that felt a bit off. Fox News was playing in the bathroom, which came across as unprofessional, and one of the benches in the sauna felt unsafe since the wood gave way. I also couldn't locate the weight machines, although I didn't check everywhere so they may have been on another floor. Overall, it was a great gym experience and I look forward to coming back!

If you have high or even basic standards avoid the S Dale Mabry LA Fitness location. Who cares if you have to drive a little out of the way! Cleanliness needs to be drastically improved and being a Signature club, it's beyond unacceptable. It is not an elevated experience in any way. I was visiting from Winter Park so I just picked the closest location to where I was staying. After I checked in, the front desk woman chased me down and said I had a standard membership and needed to come back to the desk to upgrade the a Signature membership or pay a $10 day pass to use this location. I paid the extra fee but the whole experience was very disappointing. Numerous machines are old and rusty and I attempted to use 3 different elliptical machines before I landed one that worked. The whole place lacked the basic standards like access to multiple wipe stations for to clean off your machines, no cleaning staff to be found and the women's shower area had a pool of muddy water that had accumulated. It lacked the basic etiquette of other gyms for instance, people use the sauna to dry their dirty wet towels! I should have taken pics of the shower area too but I hightailed it out of there! The WiFi is spotty and drops in the sauna and that was the final straw. Time to go! When I was leaving I let her know that for being a "Signature" location and to pay extra for access, the place was sub-par and she asked, "is that good or bad?" I said let me put this politely, it's bad. Very bad. Tomorrow I will try the one farther north or south in the Tampa area and hope for the best!

As this was only my second Pilates experience, it was awesome to only be in class with one other person. My instructor was Melissa Ebanks & she was phenomenal. Melissa had this powerful, yet kind way of being that made me feel so safe and secure as I went from movement to movement. The flow of her class felt so seamless that I almost felt like I was dancing. Haha We stretched and strengthened our back, legs, arms, hips, abs - everything! And it was challenging without making me want to quit. Melissa adjusted all of the springs on the reformer and she handed me all of the weights and balls and gadgets that I needed for each move. She was like a Pilates concierge Her dedication to my proper body alignment was so comforting and reassuring. She even would assist my body to get into deeper stretches that were so therapeutic and relaxing. My body, back, spine and hips STILL feel super luxurious 24 hours later! If you're looking for a fantastic, supportive and rejuvenating workout experience, please do yourself a huge favor and request Melissa at Pilates by Dena. She's South Tampa's hidden secret. I cannot wait to go back!

I signed up for one-on-one reformer sessions with Judy. To my surprise I've stuck with for 10 months-- I'm hooked. I've gotten stronger and more flexible. My shoulder and hip pain is gone. I find the work outs appropriately challenging. Judy and Dena are careful to tailor each session to any physical concerns I might have. Their instruction is clear, informed and personalized. They offer cues that remind me to incorporate all the aspects that make Pilates so effective-- engaging core muscles, correct technique, breathe work and focus. It feels like a mix of physical therapy, meditation and a thorough workout. They switch it up so I haven't become bored and 9 months later I still feel like I'm am improving and learning. All four of the instructors-- Dena, Lauren, Judy and Clint -- are highly trained and easy to work with. I like that each had a slightly different style. There is something for everyone, male or female, young or old, beginner to pro, out of shape or super fit. The studio is spa like and attractive. It is located next to Calta gym-- you'll find it by is red awning. I highly recommend this studio!

Even after I showed proof and it was clear I did nothing wrong, no apology was ever given. And even embarrassed me in front of the whole studio. From that point on, the environment completely changed. I was no longer greeted when I came in, and the staff made me feel unwelcome. It got to the point where I felt like I had to come after hours just to avoid interactions, which is not how a paying member should ever feel. On top of that, the workout setup itself is extremely frustrating. You basically can't work out whenever you want because there's only a few classes every few hours, and only three people can sign up per room. Three people in such a tiny sauna is already pushing it, and most of the time classes are full, which makes it feel impossible to actually use the membership you're paying for. $60 for a base membership is ridiculous for what you get and not to mention you can not cancel for free. If you want out it's either $100 or u have to pay and continue for 2 months. It's also worth mentioning that there are overwhelmingly positive reviews because members receive a discount for leaving a good review. I no longer need a discount, so here is the honest truth: this place is not worth it. The workouts are very repetitive, the concept gets old quickly, and the company comes across as very money-hungry rather than focused on member experience. Between being falsely accused, the lack of accountability, the uncomfortable atmosphere, and the impractical class system, this feels more like a scam than a supportive fitness studio. I would not recommend Hotworx to anyone looking for flexibility, fairness, or a welcoming environment.
