Why 5 stars? Because Alyssa pours everything into her business. --- --- --- I've been struggling with some pretty annoying symptoms around my lower back and hip for over a year now and I've seen a couple different physical therapists for it. Unfortunately, the problems not only still persists, but I seem to have the most unique issues in the history of mankind, which means that I'm an incredibly tough patient for anyone to figure out. After going to one PT twice a week for 4 months without any progress, I went on the hunt to get a third opinion via the Active Release Technique website. Alyssa had several certifications, so I gave her a call and set up an appointment. My experience at Empower PT was absolutely different from any other place I'd been to in my life. First off, I really appreciated Alyssa's energy from the beginning. She was incredibly dedicated and determined to help solve my issues - almost to the same level that someone in my own family would be. You definitely get the vibe that you are Alyssa's only focus and concentration because she seems to remember every tiny detail of your story and symptoms. She does research in between appointments and tries new things with each visit, and has a whole plan mapped out for you before you even walk in the door. But in reality, Alyssa has tons of other patients - she just has the uncanny ability to make you feel like she's spending 40+ hours a week on YOU. Another reason my experience was different from other places - I spent a lot of time doing various workouts, mobility training, etc. This might be more relevant to my particular problem, but it seemed to be less about getting massage/work done and more about me strengthening things that have weakened over time and put me in this predicament. And one more important detail that's different about Empower PT - there is less than zero pressure to commit to any sort of long term plan of coming back. I get the sense from Alyssa that she'd rather have magically made my symptoms go away after two visits and never see me again, over locking me into some crazy thing where I'm coming here regularly for months. The latter would mean more income for her business, but she comes across as the type that would rather have a higher success rate of fixing problems than becoming a millionaire :) Are my issues totally gone after coming here a handful of times? No. But I do think we're onto something. Horrible posture for my entire adult life is probably what put me in this situation, so a few appointments is not going to suddenly solve decades of what got me here. But the good news is that I can now play hours of basketball without my back going completely out of commission - something that was not true before I came to Empower PT. Lastly, I think the entire experience here is summed up in the name. Alyssa wants to Empower people to learn how to take care of their issues at home so that they don't have to continue to come in and see her countless times. I was given a long list of workouts and stretches to perform on my own and have been doing them religiously. That has been instrumental in my progress! I've also taken a couple of mobility classes with the 2nd person in the office, Nick! Just like the do-it-at-home plan that I was given, these are great to give me new ideas on what to work on when I'm at the gym. Prior to this, I was doing a pretty archaic workout plan that probably was doing more harm than good. I'll never think of working out the same again after trying some of these classes! If you can't tell already, I love Empower PT - my new go-to when my body isn't cooperating with my desire to live a healthy and active lifestyle! read more

Empower Pilates has been an absolute blessing for me. A few years ago I had back surgery and was in pain post surgery. I lived with the pain for over two years trying to find a remedy. I went to several doctors and chiropractors but nothing was helping until I met Liz at empower pilates. I have been going to Liz for over one year and ever since my first session I have not had a single issue with my back. I have personal sessions once a week. Their prices are extremely reasonable, have excellent personalized sessions and are very professional. The place is clean and spacious and has several machines to accommodate a few clients. If I could give more than 5 stars, I totally would. Alyssa is an amazing Physical Therapist. I am so lucky to have found her. Alyssa's knowledge is top-notch. I 100% trust her opinions, advice, etc. I have been to a number of PT's in the past and she is by far the BEST. Not only does she have the knowledge, but the way she presents that knowledge with her upbeat personality is wonderful. I can tell she truly cares that I get better and as fast as possible. I love the hour long, one-on-one appointments and she encourages me to text/call her if I have any questions or concerns. And I do mean encourages. Most places a patient would feel like they are being annoying if they called, but Alyssa really does want you to check in with her and she always responds in a timely manner. I am so thankful for Alyssa and don't know where I'd be with my injury if it wasn't for her. I have hope again that I will be back to working out sooner than I thought:) Woohoo!! read more

I have been to a number of physical therapist over the years and can easily state that Alyssa is by far the best. As a very active 30 year old with nagging injuries from competitive sports in my youth, Alyssa takes the time to listen and understand the issues and then goes through a rigorous process to get to the root cause. Often times, the pain you are experiencing is caused by an issue somewhere else in the body. This point is very important because it is flushed out in Alyssa's process vs. your typical physical therapy locations where they just give you the basic cookie cutter set of exercises based on your ailment (i.e. your shoulder hurts so here are some shoulder exercises). I am so happy I found Empower PT! After going to other trainers and still having lower back issues I was very frustrated. I decided to try a physical therapist that also offers personal training. Best decision I ever made. Empower PT is helping me work on my trouble areas. I am finally not experiencing any lower back pain after two years of going to other trainers. I work with my Personal Trainer Julia in conjunction with Physical Therapist Alyssa. I am getting all bases covered in a productive way that builds up my body instead of causing more injury. Empower PT offers Personal Training, Pilates, Yoga, Group Classes and Massage....it's truly a one stop shop that will help you achieve all your goals and then some. You won't regret it and their pricing is in line and even less than many trainers in the area. I recently started working with Alyssa to treat my lower back pain and nerve symptoms due to lumbar disc bulges. My symptoms are already improving. In looking for a PT I was searching for someone who could carefully evaluate and treat not just this one injury but also my overall strength, posture/positioning and movement to work on improving many long standing issues. I recently started going to Alyssa with Empower Physical Therapy. The reviews on several websites were spot on! It was great working with Alyssa and Julia. I received first class personal treatment that catered to my knee issues. She took the time to understand my knee issues, figure out root causes and developed a therapy plan including exercises and stretches. She then went to work and over the course of a few sessions she managed to get me to a pain-free state. In the process, she educated me on knee pain an what I can do on my own to maintain the gains. I also had a balance issue that she addressed. Alyssa and the staff are dedicated to their work and I thoroughly enjoyed working with them. Alyssa has a lot of knowledge and experience working with patients who experience a variety of problems and my husband has decided that he will see her after his knee replacement.
