It's by far one of the most affordable gyms around with friendly staff, professional trainers, excellent classes, a great selection of machines, equipment and facilities including pool, steam and sauna. Lately, however, some negatives have been marring the overall experience. VASA did a massive membership drive/upgrade at the end of 2025 which has increased foot traffic dramatically. It's rare to visit now and not have a wait to use machines (especially treadmills). And speaking of treadmills, there are currently 3 treadmills out of order, and it appears that 1 or 2 are missing, given the spacing in the first row of machines. My second and bigger criticism is the subpar housekeeping, specifically the men's locker room toilets. There has been an ongoing issue with at least one toilet being clogged by paper and waste. And often multiple stalls with no toilet paper. There has been one stall marked "out of order" for a week. Yesterday and today there was another toilet clogged, and the other two stalls with no paper. Other times I've seen toilets clogged and water that has overflowed. Really disgusting to walk through that! Overall, I give this gym 4 stars for equipment and facilities offered. Sadly, they deserve 1 star for maintenance and housekeeping.

I've tried to address this at Wheaton VASA and through corporate. All I've received in return is form letters and assurances. Pool: In the pool, the ledge on each of the three swimming lanes is covered in dirt and grime. Items float at the bottom of the pool, such as Band-Aids and gauze. In the corners of the pool, sediment, mostly dirt and sand, settle in the bottom of the pool. Interestingly, the pool is often closed. Not sure why they do such a terrible job of keeping it clean. Hot tub: hot tub is equally repulsive and not maintained properly. The intakes are covered with black mold and grime. For some reason, they close it every few days in the morning. Often you cannot use it. Seems like it would be better to clean it. (although, I'm not sure they ever do.) when customers are not using it. In off hours. Water access: some bottle fillers / water fountains Have been broken for months. (The one by the sauna, for example). Nothing seems to be maintained well. Locker rooms: these are bad! 1) the shower stalls in the men's locker room smell like a truck stop urinal. Flies Buzz around the stall as you shower. This indicates maggots are in the drain. It's been like this for months. 2) there is insufficient seating in the locker room. Some people spread all their positions on the benches, leaving no room for other others to change. This could be remedied easily but VASA, both locally and nationally is non-responsive to suggestions of customers. 3) the air vents on the ceiling, appear to be clogged with mold. This can't be healthy. 4) the hooks in the shower stalls have been broken off for almost a year. Any items you bring with you to the shower Must sit on the floor in the shower. What is most troubling is the lack of response to the lack of cleanliness. There is a reason VASA is cheap. It is built upon not expending money for cleanliness. They rely on customers, not caring that they may catch a disease from the unsanitary conditions. It is part of the VASA business model, I suppose. If enough of us bring attention to the unhealthy conditions, perhaps VASA will fulfill their obligations. I suggest reporting it to the DuPage County health department.

This is the first of a few locations opening in the area and is run by the ladies who owned Raw 45 Bootcamp in Wheaton. Among all of the gyms I have been a member of, these ladies are at the top of their game, they're top notch professional...and both great trainers as well as business managers/owners. I have found both qualities to be rare in the fitness industry... it's usually one or the other. Elise & Amy are both. If you browse my page and my yelp list of gyms, I've been to MANY. So for starters, you will NOT get bored at a place like this! There are a number of different circuits (the website indicates 27) and forever changing exercises within each circuit so no workout will ever be the same. The concept is outstanding and no other place is like it. All workouts are 45 minutes so you're in & out of there in no time and you get a hell of a workout in during those 45 minutes. Time goes by very quickly! The Hollywood workout I participated in for my first class on Saturday was an hour with a live DJ providing the music keeping us going the entire time. There are classes in the morning & at night and classes 7 days a week. Try this place out!!! It's for all levels and the trainers are there to not only motivate you, but to also make sure your form is correct and can assist in modifying anything necessary. Move over Orange Theory Fitness....F45 is where it's at!!!!

Her small classes are challenging, tailored to my specific needs, and makes me feel strong. Eva is an encouraging, patient, and is clearly passionate about Pilates and teaching. Her mat classes go through a circuit of classical Pilates positions that focus on building your core strength, increasing flexibility, and breaking bad habits like poor posture, improper breathing, and overusing your neck and shoulders which results in painful knots (my problem). The building is a bit hard to find and you have to go up to the 3rd floor. Don't let the exterior or the stairs deter you, Eva has a created a great space. Her mats are high quality, new and comfortable. She also has 3 reformer mats which are for more advanced students. Class sizes are very small so you get individualized attention. If you are at all interested in taking Pilates classes from someone caring and knows her stuff, I highly recommend Eva at Pilates Road!

I had the…read moreopportunity to drop by last week and check them out, and after the first session, I was hooked. it has everything you need to have a phenomenal workout - everyone in the class was super cool; as each person was at a different level of fitness, they moved at their own pace while being part of a group effort. there was camaraderie instead of competition, smiles and hi 5's instead of sidelong glances, and the energy flowing through the "orange zone" was addicting! I've been a lifelong martial artist, and have always kept myself in good shape, but I've slipped just like anyone else and found an extra 30 pounds in the land of cheeseburgers and cold belgium drafts. to get back in shape, I've done it all; training, hiking, hitting the gym, p90x, etc, and what I've found is that interval training is the most effective method to burn fat, build muscle, improve cardio, etc. orangetheory takes this to a science by having everyone wear a heart monitor. the trainers then take you through various levels of exertion, from an easily manageable "base pace", to a shorter, but more intense "push pace", then an even shorter "all out". one of the best parts about the experience is looking up on screen and seeing exactly how hard you were pushing; if you should lay off or crank it up. I found myself giving it everything I got, and MAN when I was finished, I felt amazing! so much so that I went back the very next day even though my legs felt like I had been visited by the mob's collection agent. a big shout out to Yeonhy, the head trainer, and Brian. they were uplifting, encouraging, and made the class fun! if you like meatheads at the desk, choking on juicy couture perfume, and waiting to use the ONLY machine you need to finish your workout, stick with a gym. if you want to experience something brand new that will invigorate your outlook on physical fitness, this is the place.

It's located above Ramseys Kitchen and it's a small studio with mat Pilates rooms, chair Pilates, and reformer Pilates. The class sizes are small (max 8 people), which is fantastic compared to other places I've tried where the class sizes are much larger and there isn't a focus on technique and proper movement. It is a bit pricey for each class, but it's worth it because you'd be supporting a smaller, woman/POC owned business rather than a large chain. Highly recommend trying out a class!

Think of a cross fit gym set up without all the scary cross fit people intimidating you. This gym is only used for personal training so there is never more than a few people there during your session. Joe is genuinely committed to you and wants you to succeed. He's really good at what he does, will call you out when needed -- ie. you ate like crap, you cancelled so you could watch the Bachelor, etc etc. He really knows nutrition and he changes up the workouts every time. He doesn't just willy nilly push you, he has you wear a heart monitor so he knows how far to push you and to make sure what he's doing is effective. I really have no complaints and working with Joe has been wonderful. I have gotten so much stronger in just a couple months. The education about nutrition has been key in helping me work towards my weight loss goals --- if only he could transfer self discipline to me too! If you're trying to decide whether to get a gym membership or try a personal training session with Joe, just do the personal training with Joe. You won't regret it and you won't get your a$$ to the McGym anyhow and you know it. That's why you're researching personal trainers. Buy his Groupon. Get hooked. Get fit. Just do it.
