The instructors, the studio, the location are all wonderful! Right at the heart of downtown Naperville and parking is super easy as well. I've been going to their classes since August 2025 and what a difference I've seen and felt in my posture, core strength, and flexibility! I truly believe that shifting my workouts from only heavy strength training to adding Pilates and yoga has changed my life and how I feel overall. It's located above Ramseys Kitchen and it's a small studio with mat Pilates rooms, chair Pilates, and reformer Pilates. The class sizes are small (max 8 people), which is fantastic compared to other places I've tried where the class sizes are much larger and there isn't a focus on technique and proper movement. It is a bit pricey for each class, but it's worth it because you'd be supporting a smaller, woman/POC owned business rather than a large chain. Highly recommend trying out a class! read more

I attended the therapeutic pilates reformer classes here for over a year, then was waylaid by covid and two injuries in a row. But what kept me from returning was changes. In the beginning the therapeutic classes were taught by Maura, the owner, who was very good and able to modify different exercises for different people's issues. I was really getting a benefit out of attending classes. But when the teacher changed it really went downhill for me. She was newer, didn't seem to remember that this was a therapeutic class (i.e. dealing with people with various health issues) and did not make modification suggestions the way Maura did. Finally after overdoing it several times and getting hurt in class, I called Maura to let her know my concerns, but nothing really happened. At last, I got Covid in the summer and then sustained two injuries (not in class), and elected not to return after recovering. (My doctor said he has seen this too many times: patients going to an exercise classes for therapy, and then they change leadership and "some 19 year old takes over and doesn't get it.") It's very frustrating because I found pilates reformer to be beneficial for my health needs, under the right teacher. Especially for the needs of a therapeutic class, the teacher is key, and it just didn't work anymore. read more

Wow!! This Pilates studio was an absolutely amazing experience. I belong to Club Pilates in another state. I was coming to visit family for two weeks. I found this diamond in the rough. I am so excited! They are so open and comfortable and you're able to ask about the things that you would like to do and how you would like to get stronger. They always seem to care so much about your needs. I'm so sad that I have to leave Illinois. I have already told them that next year when I come to visit family again I will be returning. I found Shyft on the MINDBODY app while home for Thanksgiving (I am not from the area but needed a sweat sesh!) -- I was looking for a class that wouldn't require shoes because I didn't bring my workout shoes on this trip, so yoga or Pilates was what i was looking for. We booked a class w Bonnie. The environment is wonderful and the classes are small. I've never used a formal Pilates machine before and Bonnie made the class accessible and fun! If I lived in the area I would most likely come back, as the studio provides cycle, yoga & Pilates! Highly recommend for all levels- great energy! read more

I was back at my parent's home for an extra long break and decided to bite the bullet and start Pilates (which I've been wanting to do forever). The introductory package is reasonably priced at $200 for two private sessions and four group. I highly recommend this for beginners! The two private sessions helped me to acclimate to the studio and the equipment, and I felt comfortable joining the group classes after that. I'm very very inflexible and have an incredibly weak core, but the classes were fun, challenging, and not too strenuous! There is a max of 8 students per class, but I do like the smaller classes--but you can never really foresee if it'll fill up or not. The clients are mostly women, though there is a men's only Pilates class as well as the occasional male in the class. I only went to AM classes, which was mostly ladies in their late 30s to early 50s. The teachers are very welcoming, though all have their different styles! Bonnie and Karen are really great, and they know everyone's names. It seems like there is a little area for kids to play behind the front, so some moms bring their kids with them, which is very nice. Sometimes there is also a yoga class or another class going on at the same time. The place is very very clean, the AC is always at a good temperature, the equipment is kept in good shape, etc. there is also a set of small lockers for you to store your belongings (it comes with its own key!) so no need to bring a lock, though some ladies either choose to bring their phone into class or just leave it in the waiting area. Fantastic!!! I fell in love with mat Pilates years ago but left the practice. I don't know why! The team at Shyft is incredibly knowledgeable and focus a lot on spinal alignment, which is extremely important to me. I've suffered from chronic low back pain and an array of injuries from prior active duty service. Since taking, I have been slowly regaining core strength (which is important for low back problems) and overall body. I love that they also have cycle classes and include stretching and core work to balance out. The yoga instructors here are also among the best too. Great studio and welcoming community! read more

I have neuropathy and 2.5 years ago when I came to Shyft I was not able to walk a straight line, and was barely able to walk up and down the stairs. A year into my 1/week reformer classes I caught myself running down a flight of stairs, I walked tall and had excellent balance. Some time in my 2nd year I started being able to bend my big toes - for the first time in 6 years. For me, these classes made greater difference than physical therapy 3/week. The owners are kind, and thoughtful, and customize instruction towards every student's needs. I could not recommend Shyft more. read more

This is my first exposure to Pilate's. After almost two years of sessions, I have been amazed at how this exercise strengthens and tones with low impact. Each session is unique and personalized to my specific needs. Maura, my trainer, has the expertise of a physical therapist.
