I've been meaning to check out hotworx for some time now especially since I've seen some classes on…read moreclass pass. I decided to sign up for a free trial to see what is it all about. The Wheaton location is somewhat hidden among us surrounding stores, but it's easy enough to find. Upon arrival, door access is controlled through a mobile apps so since I wasn't registered yet, one of the staff members kindly let me in. We went through a brief questionnaire discussing why I was interested in joining and what fitness goals. I was hoping to achieve this year. I was then given a tour of the facility and led to my scheduled class, which was hot yoga. Each class takes place in its own sauna, designed to accommodate about 2 to 3 people at a time. The workout itself is guided through a screen inside the sauna, which I personally did not enjoy. Classes like yoga, Pilates, it can be challenging to follow independently, and I value having an instructor present to demonstrate proper form and correct posture when needed. That hands-on guidance makes a big difference for me.. HOTWORX offers two membership packages. The highest one right now it's $80 unlimited classes at home and in person, that includes a small weight machine area in the back, you have to purchase their supplies such as their towel, mat, and one other item. It also includes an app to use on your phone to count your calories, food intake and all that great stuff. Overall, the staff was welcoming, friendly, professional, but the concept just wasn't the right fit for me. Also, if you ever plan to take a free trial, make sure to wear almost nothing and take a ton of water with you and a towel because you will sweat and be hot!!!

Clean and well presented. The area is safe and well kept. Love the area and the surrounding shopsread more

Overall, I really like Vasa Fitness. I've been a member for 2 years, and overall have had positive…read moreexperiences. It's by far one of the most affordable gyms around with friendly staff, professional trainers, excellent classes, a great selection of machines, equipment and facilities including pool, steam and sauna. Lately, however, some negatives have been marring the overall experience. VASA did a massive membership drive/upgrade at the end of 2025 which has increased foot traffic dramatically. It's rare to visit now and not have a wait to use machines (especially treadmills). And speaking of treadmills, there are currently 3 treadmills out of order, and it appears that 1 or 2 are missing, given the spacing in the first row of machines. My second and bigger criticism is the subpar housekeeping, specifically the men's locker room toilets. There has been an ongoing issue with at least one toilet being clogged by paper and waste. And often multiple stalls with no toilet paper. There has been one stall marked "out of order" for a week. Yesterday and today there was another toilet clogged, and the other two stalls with no paper. Other times I've seen toilets clogged and water that has overflowed. Really disgusting to walk through that! Overall, I give this gym 4 stars for equipment and facilities offered. Sadly, they deserve 1 star for maintenance and housekeeping.

However, only after signing the contract do you discover that freezing or cancelling your membership incurs additional fees. There is also a mandatory annual fee of $59.99. I waited over five hours for a callback, and on top of this, when they called me back, they put me in the queue for an additional 30 minutes. Furthermore, the customer service is extremely rude. The gym is always overcrowded, with everyone fighting for access to the equipment. I definitely do not recommend this chain. My husband and I certainly won't be coming back.

The coaches are so motivational and encouraging, they meet you where you're at and challenge you to put your best effort in. The workouts really get you sweating. Its a mix of treadmills, water rowers, and synergy station (body weight, weights, trx, and terracore station). I never though my heart rate could increase while weight training but I'm in the fat burning zone most of the time. Lastly what makes this gym awesome is the saunas! The personal sauna's promote healing and are super relaxing. You can use it individually or with a friend or two. You can even bluetooth your music to them. While neither of us is what you would call an athlete, we both have noted significant changes in our day to day quality of life as a direct result of being regularly attending members. When I first set out to try CrossFit, I tried a couple different gyms in the area. The sample classes seemed intent on pushing me as hard as I could go without much regard for my current status of health. Easily the most important part of Leverage for me, has been the quality of coaching. Dave and Sarah run a tight ship. They're not looking to break you. If you're having trouble with a movement, they're going to positively encourage you to work within your ability level so that you can make improvements without breaking you. The community Dave and Sarah started is great, too. The people at the gym are always friendly, welcoming, and encouraging. Most people know your name if you've been more that once. There are a variety of class times that should easily fit the needs of most people's schedules. The rates are competitive. Leverage offers discounts for veterans, first responders, teachers, and students. The facilities are always clean and well put together. The bathrooms are always clean (supposedly that's a thing? I never realized...). There's a nice kids area that a lot of the members take advantage of. I will too, once my kids get a little older and more independent. I've been a runner, I've tried spin classes, martial arts, and plain old working out at globo-gyms. While I'm not the greatest athlete, this is something that has worked for me. I can't imagine working out any other way. The constant change of pace, the variety of movements, the tempo of the classes, Dave and Sarah do a great job motivating you to be better, without crushing you. Check it out. You won't regret it.
