I joined MSP one week ago. I've been ISO a gym that would inspire & motivate me again after a couple years of personal difficulties. I am so glad my friend told me about MSP moving to Wheaton! I emailed MSP on a Sunday night. Bright & early Monday, Ashley, one of five owners, responded & invited me to come in that same day. She was welcoming, approachable, informative. I've since met the other four owners who all coach. They walk the walk! The classes are all small groups & the workouts of the day are super challenging with one repetitive segment weekly to track your progress. The coaches are 100% engaged! They are all over proper form so you get max benefit & don't hurt yourself, and always ask if anyone has any issues, for which they suggest & demonstrate modifications. There are so many class times, that one of them HAS to work for you! And if you just want some gym time, you get 24/7 access which is surveilled so that you always will feel safe. Oh... and there's two boxing class per week! I'm brand new to that, so I'm legit bad at it. But I'll learn! And the way Jimmy teaches it, I know it's going to do wonders for my brain fitness & focus, as much as it made me sweat like I never have in a workout before! I've been training at MSP for almost a year now. I was looking to train with kettlebells and TJ Lawson, one of the owners of MSP, came highly recommended. The recommendation has paid off tremendously as I am now addicted to kettlebell training. The other owners of MSP - Jimmy, Zane and Mike - are super friendly and enthusiastic. They all have their niches in fitness training which makes MSP a top level faculty. Maces, body weight, powerlifting, battle ropes, boxing - you name it and MSP does it. I highly recommend MSP for those who may be looking for a non-commercial facility to train in. The facility itself is clean and they have a vast amount of equipment. I have been a member of MSP since it first opened. As a middle-aged man who has only gotten into fitness in the past few years, I needed a trainers who would both encourage and push me, and a location where I didn't feel out of place. MSP is outstanding on both fronts. All the trainers, especially Zane, my trainer, are fantastic, and while there are many real athletes working out there, I've never felt anything other than support from everyone there. With MSP you get a much more personalized approach than you do with the the bigger clubs while still having all the stuff that you need. And the trainers are really up to date on the latest unconventional methods. I honestly am not sure I would be still be working out regularly if not for MSP and their staff. read more

Love this gym! Zane helped me return to soccer and basketball after an ACL tear 4 years ago. I have continued to train with him and the others at MSP because of their dedication to improving and using a whole body approach, without the use of machines and standard lifts that is offered at big box gyms. I am stronger, more flexible, and less prone to injuries. They offer specialty classes as well as fundamental classes so you can find the right fit or tailor your workout for a specific goal or sport. The programming constantly changes. They learn new things and it is immediately evident in classes and individual training. Nice well maintained facility with great coaches/trainers. You can tell they enjoy what they do and want their members to succeed in their workout/fitness goals. MSP is a place for all fitness levels. I train with TJ who is very engaging and knowledgeable. His positive attitude is infectious. He makes working out fun!?! I enjoy their "unconventional" training...it's never boring! Jimmy, Zane and Mike are also knowledgeable, fun and so encouraging! I can see why serious athletes choose to workout here...but it's also a great place for someone like me who just wants to improve/stay in shape. MSP is amazing. The trainers are very knowledgeable, dedicated and hardworking. I have been going to MSP since it has opened and have loved results. I didn't believe that it was possible for a 54 old woman to have stomach muscles but with their help, I did! I train almost exclusively with TJ and he always has a smile on his face and energy to spare even though we train at 5 a.m. In addition to training, I have taken the individual classes and have enjoyed them all. The classes are never the same or boring. I can't believe that time passes so quickly. The trainers interact with the class and help with proper form. I highly recommend MSP. This is a great gym! The trainers are wonderful and the classes are great. You can choose to do classes daily or you can choose to work with one of the fantastic trainers. What I appreciate about this gym is it isn't the same old thing over and over again! They mix it up and constantly challenge me -- which obviously helps my endurance and perfomance. I've had a personal trainer for over 20 years now and I was lucky enough to have TJ as one of my triainers. So when he, along with Zane, JImmy and Mike started MSP, it was a no brainer -- I had to follow them for them excellent training. MSP, a gym run by some very knowledgeable, very determined young men, is the perfect place for fitness goers of any level. It doesn't matter what your goals are or where you want to take your fitness endeavors, these guys will get you there. They will expose you to routines and equipment that will challenge your mind and body alike. Zane in particular is an extremely personable yet honest 'coach' who caters to his clients specific needs. That being said, the rest of the crew (TJ, Jimmy and Mike) are all unique and can take on any expectation thrown their way. I've been in and out of gyms for the past 3 years attempting to find my new "home". I've now been at MSP for almost 5 months and it's safe to say that my search is over. Since training at MSP, my fitness has become a habit once again and I can't see myself working out anywhere else. Not only is the facility and equipment top notch, but the trainers are incredibly knowledgeable/professional and I am fortunate enough to now call them my friends. The coaches at MSP are great! They have a ton of knowledge and easily communicate that knowledge with the class. Even @ 5:30 AM they have plenty of energy to go around and that makes morning workouts so much more enjoyable. They can accommodate every level of fitness from fighters and rugby players to the first-timers in the same class and make it challenging for everyone involved. The facility is great with plenty of functional equipment to keep you interested from beginning to end. I can't say enough great things about this place. The classes are fun and challenging. The owners and trainers are honestly the nicest people I have ever met. They make working out fun and interesting. They know your name by heart instantly, welcome you in every time, give helpful advice, and give optional modifications for injuries. This gym is great for anyone just getting into weight lifting/fitness, athletes looking to improve their craft, or just the average gym goer. Unlike alot of mainstream facilities, MSP staff are high caliber people to work with and have high caliber knowledge about fitness to get the best out of individuals. Everyone there seemed so nice, and I felt very comfortable being there unlike some gyms where its run by meatheads. I've tried just about every type of exercise modality from distance running, CrossFit, Olympic Weightlifting, and even cookie cutter body building programs. Nothing compares to the level of knowledge that these guys have. They are attentive to your goals and check in often. At a friend's recommendation, I dropped in on a few classes before my old gym closed, and I was instantly hooked. The group classes offerings, the class times that are available, and the exercise variety the trainers work into the classes is awesome. My girlfriend has been a member since they started, I was able to attend a steel mace yoga class. Was awesome to do a workout I would have never thought to do! The community was like a giant family, the facility was incredibly awesome. CrossFit meets bad ass ninja!
