The gym features a variety of classes (including cardio, strength training, etc.). I tried the "Gonna Make You Sweat" class--it is a good mix of cardio, strength training, and core work. The gym has all new equipment (treadmills, stair climbers, rowers, free weights, racks, etc.). The gym utilizes the latest technology in personalized fitness through the use of heart monitors. Each gym user has the option of wearing a heart rate monitor and the data is displayed on the gym screen during the workout session. The software actively tracks your heart rate in comparison to your target heart rate. At the end of the workout, you receive an email with your workout stats (e.g., average minimum and maximum heart rate, heart zones during the workout, etc.). The data links into the MAR fitness app on your smartphone, so you can track your stats workout-to-workout. The gym amentities include single user bathrooms (shower included) and lockers with built-in combination key pads. Ample parking given the gym's close proximity to the Downers Grove Downtown Parking Garage and the train station parking lot (available during the evening hours and on the weekends). Great for commuters and for those who want a fresh take on fitness!

Fox River SC has helped push me in ways that I could never push myself on my own in a typical gym setting. Three months into it and I'm well on my way to being the most fit of my adult life (at 42) and looking forward to see where I'll be at 6 months or even a year or two down the road. Coach Mark is great and his approach to each workout is both motivating and educational. Proper form is a high priority and each workout is never the same. The community of other members is something that can't be overlooked, and is personally one of the reasons why it's so easy to get myself to the gym every day - the atmosphere is fun, motivational, inspiring and even entertaining most days. Even when you think you don't have anything left to give, someone will be there to give you the extra boost needed to finish the WOD or lift - or give you sh*t because your burpee form is atrocious! Honestly, it's all positive here and that's just part of what makes Fox River SC a great place to workout.

The BMT team worked with me and accommodated moves so I could build my strength without hurting myself along the way. They guided me on nutritional goals as well as strength and fitness goals with their wealth of knowledge, motivation, encouragement, and most of all - passion! I've progressed so much in a year and a half, and I continue to improve. The fellow gym-goers are just as supportive as the staff, and I've met some incredibly supportive people along the way. I now can do almost all moves unassisted and I'm stronger now than I was back in high school when I played 3 sports. This place is supportive, welcoming, and accommodating. I'm so thankful for the BMT staff and fellow attendees - without them, I truly don't know where I would be!

This isn't a glitz-and-glam gym. There are no flashy lights or influencer vibes. What you get instead is something far more valuable a healthy, structured strengthening program with real guidance to help you become a better version of yourself. It's about movement, longevity, and building strength the right way. What really sets this gym apart is the coaching staff. The coaches are consistent not rotating in and out which makes a huge difference. They know your name, your goals, your strengths, and where you need improvement. That continuity builds trust and real progress. The community is amazing. This isn't just a place to work out. Members volunteer with local pet shelters, connect outside the gym for pickleball gatherings, and host educational sessions on topics like perimenopause giving women knowledge and giving men insight so they can better support the women in their lives. That kind of environment is rare. Every month there are new challenges to push yourself, plus self-achievement awards that recognize individual wins. And I have to say the spicy stickers are a nice touch. Small detail, but it shows they celebrate effort and consistency in a fun way. Beyond Measure isn't just about lifting weights. It's about building strength in your body, confidence in yourself, and connection in your life. If you're looking for community, accountability, and long-term health plus fun this is it.
