This isn't a glitz-and-glam gym. There are no flashy lights or influencer vibes. What you get instead is something far more valuable a healthy, structured strengthening program with real guidance to help you become a better version of yourself. It's about movement, longevity, and building strength the right way. What really sets this gym apart is the coaching staff. The coaches are consistent not rotating in and out which makes a huge difference. They know your name, your goals, your strengths, and where you need improvement. That continuity builds trust and real progress. The community is amazing. This isn't just a place to work out. Members volunteer with local pet shelters, connect outside the gym for pickleball gatherings, and host educational sessions on topics like perimenopause giving women knowledge and giving men insight so they can better support the women in their lives. That kind of environment is rare. Every month there are new challenges to push yourself, plus self-achievement awards that recognize individual wins. And I have to say the spicy stickers are a nice touch. Small detail, but it shows they celebrate effort and consistency in a fun way. Beyond Measure isn't just about lifting weights. It's about building strength in your body, confidence in yourself, and connection in your life. If you're looking for community, accountability, and long-term health plus fun this is it.

Everyone supports each other. I highly encourage you to give it a try. You won't be disappointed and you will see results.

Anyway, I am a former athlete and by former I mean I am now a dad of two that found myself stuck in the same routine of running and light lifting. Light lifting of beer and food that is. I needed something new and motivating and found myself on groupon. I didn't want to join a cross fit (not my style) and didn't trust the large group fitness classes at the huge corporate giants (xsport type) just looking to get your money. So I thought I would give this place a try. After all, it was only 200$ to start for 3x a week for the first 2 months. Jump on Groupon now if it still there and if not I promise whatever you pay will be better than a gym membership. Onto my experience so far. The first week I found out just how bad my form was and how much of a difference it makes on your core and body when you do lifts and exercises correctly. It was a motivating atmosphere without the pressure of a competitive environment where you are injuring yourself. All I care about now is my form and my results which is why I knew after day one I have found my go to place. Chris who runs my class adapts to each individual and doesn't let you cheat anything. With my gym membership I would of stopped after a certain set or taken an extra rest. Having the motivation of Chris pushing you makes you push harder. Pro Force has trainers and an owner that care about each individual and their outcomes. I have been in the xsport classes that the instructor spent more time looking in the mirror at his arms rather than my form. Anyway, I am only 3 weeks in but feel great and am improving. The class consist of many different exercises that work too many muscles to name. Some I didn't know existed. Trust me I feel it today :). There are many different options for classes and individuals of all levels. However The best part about this is knowing my dollar is going to a family of a gym that is locally owned. The owner also invests time and energy back into my community. I only wish this place existed when I was an athlete as most of us at my age relied on pure athletic ability. Bonus note is they train numerous professional athletes. Knowing these pro athletes train with pro force means it is definitely good enough for me. Now take that first step and I promise you will be happy you did. Thanks Pro Force and Staff for helping me get closer to my goals.

If your New Years resolution is to find the best place to start or continue an exercise program…read morethis is THE place in the Tri City area. I have been going here for 3 years - prior to that I worked out on my own, I swam, ran did a little of the old P90X. I wasn't in bad shape - but I wasn't in great shape either. I would work out "hard" for a month then lose interest for a month or two then start it up again. I started at ProForce in my late 40s - when my age was starting to really catch up with me - I was waking up with back aches and was sore after yard work and now - I'm almost 50 now and I am in the best shape I have ever been. There are three reasons to go to ProForce 1) Chris is a fantastic trainer - and he along with his staff - really know what they are doing. I had no idea that I was doing most of the exercises wrong or with very poor form. The way I was doing the exercise really wasn't working the muscle groups in the right way (or worse working the wrong groups) and I was suffering because of it. It's really like working out with a personal trainer every day! They watch your form and when it breaks down they correct it - so you don't hurt yourself. They also get you to think about which muscles should be working for a given exercise to really help you focus. They also really work on flexibility and movement - something I had never even considered. Also they treat you like a professional athlete - and sometimes you are working out next to people that were or are professional athletes - which is really cool. At the beginning focus on form - that's the best advice I can give anyone starting here. 2) Variety. Workouts are varied and we rarely do the same workout twice - over three years. This has kept me mentally engaged and interested. Sometimes you work with weights and sometimes it is body weight and they do a lot of good cardio as well. 3) The competition and people in the classes. I enjoy their company - we laugh, we work (hard) and we motivate each other - sometimes you don't feel like working out hard - everyone has those days - but when you are working out with a group - particularly this group - you will find yourself working harder. It doesn't matter what shape you are in right now - there is someone else at your level - to push you and to work with every day.

A CrossFit gym (or a "box" in the CrossFit world) is kind of underwhelming when you first walk in…read more There isn't much to it. There are some racks, some barbells, stacks of weights, ropes, boxes, and a variety of other stange things. Don't let that fool you. There may not be a whole lot of fancy and expensive equipment that you're used to seeing in other gyms, but this isn't like other gyms, either. Be prepared to train harder than you ever have before. You'll be sweating. You'll be out of breath. You'll be tired. You'll be sore. But, you'll have fun doing it, you'll make friends, and you will soon find yourself looking forward to your next WOD (Workout of the Day) whatever that may be. With CrossFit, each day is different, because each workout is different. You never know what you're getting yourself into, until you show up that day (unless you read the WOD Blog the night before) and with a different workout each time, you won't get bored. The prices are higher here than your typical gym, but there's a good reason for that. You'll have a trainer with you at each session reviewing each excercise before your WOD begins and then individual guidance during your workout. Each of the trainers at Sugar Grove CrossFit are extremely knowledgeable, are willing to help in any way to help you achieve the results you're looking for, and will motivate you when you need it most. I've only been doing CrossFit for a short time now (coming straight off of the couch), but I've already seen dramatic results. I've had success in traditional gyms, but usually something comes up where I lose my motivation and then I stop going altogether. It's different here. Not only because of workouts, but because of the people you'll meet. You will get to know the people here. You will get to know the trainers as well as the people you work out with. They will become your friends and you'll spend time outside of the box with them, whether it's at a charity event like a boxing match or breast cancer awareness WOD, celebrating Black Wednesday, or even attending the upcoming Christmas party. You'll know each other's names and they'll expect to see you in the box - if not, I would imagine/hope that t I'd get a text or a phone call. They say that CrossFit isn't for everyone... but, it should be. Whether you're young and already in shape or middle-aged with a more round shape, this is for you. Your workouts will be tailored to you and your abilities. No matter what, it's going to be hard, but the trainers here won't let you do anything that you shouldn't be doing. So, stop in. Watch a WOD. Ask to try it out. You won't regret it.

He is the…read moremost disrespectful, arrogant, unprofessional, and egotistical human being who has degraded me and my body with his insensitive and highly inappropriate comments. The orientation with him was the first red flag but I really wanted to work out so I looked past it and signed up for a 1-year contract. He has done the following: Called me a "big girl", body-shamed me, made sexist jokes, belittled my efforts, stands & stares while you work out for way too long, made way too many comments about how flexible I am, touched me to make exercise adjustments without my consent, asked me how much I weigh in front of a group of people, and he has zero respect for boundaries. He completely overcomplicates weight/fat loss and he will talk forever about things that aren't helpful while not listening to what you have to say. In June 2021, I told him that his sexist joke and his comments about my weight made me uncomfortable and he agreed to leave me alone up until the other day, December 27th, 2021. He decided to criticize my efforts and disrespect my boundaries by insulting me and my body. I confronted him again and told him that his comments make me uncomfortable and asked him to not talk to me about my body anymore. He didn't apologize, he asked me if I was joking and he became very defensive and aggressive. He also threatened me with his attorney. I have the messages to prove this interaction. It is an expensive gym membership for $200 per month. If you still want to go to this gym, I would highly recommend that you do not sign up for a 1-year contract if you can avoid it because if you ever need to cancel you will still have to pay the FULL amount remaining for the year. $200x12 = $2400. That's a big sum of money. Zack denied me the ability to cancel my contract without penalty and he is forcing me to continue to go to a gym where I feel extremely uncomfortable. If I cancel anyway, then I would have to pay ~$800 since I have about 4 months left on my 1-year contract. I would have never supported Zack's business by going to this gym if I had known how terrible he is. I am so disappointed that Zack has created such an uncomfortable environment because when he is not at the gym (which luckily has been often), I really enjoy the workouts and the other trainers are great. If I could just rate the other trainers, I would give them all high ratings. The facility, the layout, and the equipment are good. I know I am not the only one who has gone through this with Zack and I'm glad that I had the courage to call him out on his BS and set boundaries for myself. The fact that Zack treats people so poorly especially during a pandemic when his business is already struggling, is shocking to me. I hope Zack learns how to be respectful and empathetic to others.
