This is my second CrossFit box since joining the evil empire, though I travel a great deal for work…read moreso I have dropped in on many. Justin is straight up the best CrossFit coach I have ever encountered. His knowledge base is off the charts and his patience for people like me that are still working to perfect movements is a breath of fresh air. You won't feel like an idiot if you have a higher than normal learning curve, and he knows how to push you without putting you into situations that can lead to injury. If you are a new person just starting CrossFit, you should consider yourself lucky to have him to teach you the ropes. The facility itself is friggin massive. The largest box I have ever been in and it is well organized and kept tidy. One of my principal issues with my old box was how cramped it could be with larger classes but that has never been an issue at Rise. Programming is offered 6 days a week and there is open gym and Yoga offered on Sunday. There are 3 types of classes offered including 'fitness' for beginners, 'performance' for intermediate levels, and 'competition' for the elite athletes. The programming at Rise is quite challenging and there is a much greater focus on weightlifting than my previous experience elsewhere. They do occasionally offer boot camp style classes that are basically CrossFit minus a barbell, but I would suggest to everyone to just get over this initial fear and take the normal classes. It won't be long and the barbell will feel like another appendage anyway. There is a small locker room for you to change and take a shower if you are hitting up the box before work, and the front desk offers the usual FitAid and similar products if you need a post workout pick me up. The community aspect CrossFit is noted for is alive and well at Rise. The last person finishing is just as important as the first one, and you can expect a degree of camaraderie and bonding among your classmates if you show up regularly. Overall, Rise is a great option for CrossFit for any skill level. I plan to keep coming as long as they will have me.

Updated review: I…read moreended up hurting my knee here Fell off the rings funny and the gymnastics pads for landing were no where to be found. They were willing to pause my membership but refused to refund. I'd expect a bit more attention to members especially during covid and social distancing Also when I signed up, one of the owners had my credit card registered under her. It ended up auto billing me for a second month. Took almost a month for her to fix and remove having my credit card information. They are friendly but seem to just lack general care of members otherwise

I have only been training at CrossFit Hoffman a few months, but it has already been an adventure,…read moreand I truly look forward to coming to class. In case you are wondering, the answer is yes, it's challenging as hell. If you have not been involved very heavily in resistance training previously, the first month just plain sucks. You are going to be sore. Really sore. But if this shit was easy everyone would do it. If you have no previous experience with CrossFit, you will go through one-on-one foundations classes where you will learn the basic movements and your new coach (Eazy) will get a handle on where you stand and what your limitations are. He is a really chill guy to get along with, but he is also going to push you well outside your comfort zone and hound you to keep improving on your form. If you have been involved in athletics teams in your life previously, then you will have some idea what to expect as the coaching dynamic is similar. After you get done with foundations then begins WODs. Don't worry about all the various CrossFit acronyms. They will all become apparent to you in no time. So long as you show up regularly and put forth the effort, you are going to see some pretty rapid increases in strength and endurance initially. As a newbie your workouts will be scaled to your level at first, but again, if you are starting from ground zero like I was it's not going to be long and you will notice things getting easier. You will also stop feeling like pure death the next morning when you roll out of bed. Then begins the process of seeking improvement and additional gains in the form of goals, PR's, RX's etc. It's also about this time that you start to realize why it can be so addicting to be a member of a CrossFit box. You will become hooked and be thirsty for more. At the level I am progressing at I can't even begin to imagine where I will be in 6 months or a year from now, but I can't wait to find out. If you are looking for a way to improve your overall fitness, CFHE is a terrific option. So long as you are willing to put forth the commitment and get your nutrition dialed in, you are sure to see some dramatic results.

Owner is very friendly Best gym best price and trainers are the best!!!!!thank you CFHE!!!!!!!!!!!!!read more
