I start crossfit in this place 3 weeks ago and I love it , the people there are like one big family, motivate each other all the time.

Over the past several months, I have been trained by Arnel, the owner of CrossFit Caliber, in an exercise regiment that allows me to trade time-consuming running and traditional weight lifting for relatively quick high-intensity workouts that mix gymnastics, explosive movements and bodybuilding with little rest between movements. The short but grueling sessions keep me regularly puking and training two to three times per week without much repitition in workouts. Arnel is passionate about training and spends class time correcting bad form, demonstrating proper techniques, scaling drills to meet client fitness levels, motivating and educating about proper diet. Without CrossFit and Arnel's instruction, it would be a typical year of quitting my workouts two months into the year. read more

I've been seriously exercising since I was 18 (now I am close to 26) and I can honestly say that CrossFit Caliber has been the BEST decision I have ever made in regards to my fitness/health. I've worked at different health clubs; worked out at even more gyms; made my research about every style of fitness; met a number of fitness experts; trained with a handful of trainers; ran a number of obstacle course races; completed marathons, and even got into triathlons...but NONE were able to trully challenge me like CrossFit. After so many years of working out and pushing myself in every sence possible - believe me, my trainers and I made sure I pushed myself - I was SHOCKED at how amazing the results were with a month at CrossFit Caliber. At a regular gym, with a personal trainer and 8 months of determined work my results were: 9 max pullups (4-5 more from the start); bit more speed; some endurance boost; decently stronger; and felt like I hit a new level of fitness. With a simple month and a half at CrossFit Caliber, I have hit a 26max pullup (more than double from where I started); energy is through the roof, speed has gotten stronger and stable; I am waaaaaaaay more stronger (much more than thought possible with a month and a half); and now I know that I am at a higher fitness level than ever before....oh and the physical changes don't hurt either. ;-) I give CrossFit Caliber a 5 star because: - The improvements are amazing - The classes change on a daily basis (never board) - Arnel, the gym owner, makes sure you push yourself while staying safe. - The members are friendly, supportive, and highly motivated. - The workouts are much more challenging and they don't take an hour to get you tired (like with most workouts). - Saturday comes with free classes. - Did I mention that the results are AMAZING?!?! read more

I'm doing things that I never thought that I could do. With the help of Arnel and Crossfit Caliber, I'm challenged like I haven't been before with intense crossfit workouts. You rarely see a marathoner lifting heavy weights or a weightlifter running a footrace, but with the multi-disciplined crossfit workouts, it's possible! Bottom Line: Highly recommend Crossfit Caliber no matter what age/stage/fitness level you are. Arnel, Aaron, and Mike are all great coaches who focus on form and are encouraging. There's a wonderful sense of community as well. I have seen results and am accomplishing what I never thought I would. I have been "working out" at gyms and at home for years. It took skipping many obstacles at the BadAss Dash, and regaining half the weight I had lost, to make me admit that I need to focus on functional fitness and ramp up my intensity. I considered Crossfit, but was concerned that the trainers would make me feel like a loser if I didn't push myself to the point of injury. I found Crossfit Caliber on a Google search and took advantage of an introductory offer. By my second week, I was hooked and had decided to rearrange my budget to join. Here's why: - Variety: Every workout is different. There are common elements that enable you to make progress, but it's not the same set of the same movements every day or even every week. - Focus on form: One of the main criticisms of Crossfit in general is that the trainers do not focus on form. I have taken enough strength classes and worked with personal trainers enough to know that this is definitely not true about the coaches at CFC. In fact, they presented a workshop on form and stretching recently. I have been encouraged to hold off on increasing weights if it's at the expense of proper form. - Realistic encouragement and modification: There are a wide variety of people at CFC. Some people are super fit and others are not. I am toward the "not" end of the spectrum. The coaches show modifications for every exercise. There are no smirks or negative comments about using modifications (from anyone). On the other hand, if a coach feels that I am capable of trying the next level, he will encourage me to do so. - Community: One of the things that I have always liked about attending a gym and group fitness is that you get to know people. At CFC, the coaches actively encourage this by putting people on teams and doing introductions. The owner, Arnel, sponsors workshops and social events like volleyball and paddleboarding. CrossFit Caliber has changed my life! I walked in the doors two years ago over weight, shy and unsure that I could handle the intensity of CrossFit. Arnel assured me that everything could be scaled to my level and taught me proper form and technique to ensure that I wouldn't get injured.
