I found out about The Shop from my middle school basketball coach, and initially started training with Mike to put on some muscle and maybe get a little quicker on my feet so I would be competitive in high school basketball. I am a former collegiate athlete and had been having a tough time finding a trainer who I felt really understood fitness and who I could really learn from. I could not have asked for a better trainer than Katie. Both she and Shane have managed to strike the difficult balance of being motivating/pushing you and helping you adjust when needed/teaching you why certain exercises are good or bad for you specifically. I also have a couple former injuries I still deal with and Katie is amazing at recognizing what will make me stronger/what is not good for me. It's also worth noting that many of the gyms I go to try and give me a workout specifically for women. I've heard many a speech about how I want long, lean muscle and strength should not be my priority. Definitely not the case at Fitness Inc. The girls do the same stuff as the boys here and it's really refreshing to be challenged and treated equally. I should note that dead lifting and doing push-ups has not made me look like a man or "bulked me up" in any way I wouldn't want. My whole family uses them! Can't say enough good things.
