Pilates Design Studio offers knowledgeable, comprehensive Pilates instruction in a well equipped studio. The studio is equipped with all new machines from Balanced Body; traditional with slight technical improvements. Spread over two rooms, the studio could comfortably accommodate a group class and a private session simultaneously. Four wall-mounted Tower units occupy the large group class room, while the private session room has a Cadillac, Reformer, two different Chairs. Plenty of windows provide light and circulation, and the new carpets and equipment is kept clean. The owner and main instructor, Danielle, brings this equipment to life, all for your benefit. The most important thing I've noticed about her instruction is: she doesn't just read the script. Sure, Joseph Pilates created routines and sequences which help most human bodies. Danielle takes this to the next level by extracting the essence of these exercises and applying the principles and movements which YOU need. For instance, she took the time to understand my lower back problem and how my body is incorrectly compensating, then gives me exercises designed to restore my proper body mechanics. Her attention to detail is surprising and her repertoire of exercises is comprehensive. Group classes at Pilates Design Studio are inherently more scripted than private sessions, but they contain similar high levels of personal attention. Danielle tailors classes around the attendees due to their physical circumstances, since she knows her clients that well. Again, her library of sequences, most of which she has adapted or modified, is expansive enough to keep things interesting. The studio also has a great community of clients. After nine months of attending classes, I've gotten to know my group classmates. It's fun to share a story or a laugh between exercise sequences. Having nice people to interact with is another good thing to look forward to, especially when the exercises get rough. I have been taking classes with Danielle for almost 2 years now. Not only is she a great instructor, she is also a great person. My private lessons are catered to my body type, taking into consideration my problem areas. She knows what is best for me depending on the day and she can gauge which week I am stressed and she would change the routine accordingly. In addition to that, Danielle is also very flexible with scheduling and she does everything she can to accomodate my schedule. Unlike other pilates studios I have been to that has rules and expiration dates on the package you purchase, Danielle is extremely accomodating with her package. I finally found an exercise I love and Danielle and her studio are the reason. The equipment is new and adjusts to my petite frame which was a problem in other studios for me. She is very patient with me and is always adjusting me so I am perfectly aligned. Her studio is immaculate.
